  1. Some of my favorites when I'm eating really well are- non-fat plain (not flavored) yogurt sweetened with an equal with fruit or granola mixed in; egg whites on wheat toast; They sell egg whites in cartons like milk so their easy to use. Apple slices with PB; and balance bars in the chocolate/pb gold flavor for easy on the go snacks. Walking will do something if you do it consistently, but you have to be moving at a good pace. When I walk I work up a sweat and couldn't really gab with a gf the whole time, too out of breath for that. Also, my neighborhood has a lot of hills so if I jog I will jog UP the hills so its harder. Your body gets used to what you do daily, that is why what you do at work doesn't make any changes and why you should change your exercise routine regularly. Interval training is a good way to kickstart things too- jog one minute, walk two minutes... repeat. Workout videos are a great way to vary things, but I've never done them. Totally not coordinated enough for that! lol
  2. omg I love the wedding frisbees! And the turtle tealight holder.
  3. I'm the same way about lifting- I love it! I hate cardio. I always joke that I wouldn't run even if something was chasing me. I just forced myself to do it one day and then the next day it was easier. Right now I am just walking/ jogging (when I see a big dog lol) in my neighborhood. I have 5 days til I'm 6 months out from my wedding so I'm planning to rein in my eating and head back to the gym in 5 days. I am NOT motivated at all and I used to be a personal trainer a few years ago. It was waaaayyy easier to workout when I was in the gym everyday for work. I don't know what to tell you about getting motivated. The only thing that has worked for me was just forcing myself to get up and do it one day, then the next day was easier.

Yeah, I was looking at that, but then I was thinking- what material can you write on? I love the turtle ones! I'm turtle obsessed. lol I was going to make DIY tags, but I might just buy these and save myself the work.
  5. Ha, my cats would LOVE if I gave them chicken- too bad they have to eat the prescription cat food that costs and arm and a leg from the vet! One of my kitties had bladder stones and after a majorly expensive surgery I had to switch foods. Better to pay for the food than another surgery. Oh well, I'm off track now... home alone watching Harry Potter all night will do that. I need human contact! lol Just me and the cats cuz FI is in NC for the weekend. Atleast I didn't have to work on a thesis tho- I feel for you Martha. Doesn't sound like a fun time...
  6. Congrats! Love your dress. Glad it was a nice relaxing day.
  7. Can you commit to doing something just on your days off from work? Your schedule is CRAZY, but it looks like if you just did the off days you would exercise 3-4 times a week. I know that once I start exercising I automatically eat better because I don't want to ruin my progress... maybe the same would work for you. Do you live in an area where you can walk in your neighborhood? Its better to start off slow, with something you can commit to than go crazy and try to do everyday if that's not realistic. The key is sticking to something over a longer period of time. Good luck!

    Welcome to the forum!
  9. I was thinking about this today and think I need to invest in some bubble wrap! So far, my plan is to pack all of the decorative stuff for the wedding and OOT bag stuff in one suitcase, then hope that one of the two of us gets the green light at customs- that person takes that suitcase through. Who knows if it will work, but its a plan anyway...
  10. Ooh I love the flip flop ones! Thanks for sharing! I wonder what they are made of?

  12. I was just thinking that even tho your day was hectic, what a good story you have to tell now and in the future!
  13. Oh Jen, that sucks! I didn't read through everyone's replies, but I can't believe your DH's dad would fire him without talking to him about it first. That's crazy. It could be a blessing in disguise tho if he doesn't really love the industry he's in... he could make a career change and be really happy!
  14. I like it shorter better, so I don't think you need to grow it out. You can add a hair flower on a clip to the side near your ear!
  15. I got my dress at Davids. I'm going to get alterations done elsewhere because I wasn't impressed with their customer service skills. But I think that you could get a GREAT dress at a lower cost than if you buy from somewhere else.
  16. Welcome! You will be a good resource for Jamaica brides!
  17. I think that you should have a mix of things. Some people just like to get something that they can put in a box and wrap. They like the physical gift that they can give you and your BM's might be right that the AHR might be a place people want to bring a 'box' to. But- this is from someone who would like to refuse to register at all an is being told they have to. lol You could just add some small things on there to make ppl happy... idk
  18. Very cute! Yay for being creative because of this site. I've gotten lots of good ideas from here and I am NOT creative at all. These ladies rock!
  19. Ibuprofen should help with the pain and try an eye mask that's been in the fridge if your face is puffy (happened to me before). Otherwise, I think just aloe and time. Sorry- it sucks to get that burned. []

  22. I think that its possible with that budget. Like others said, you have to decide what it most important and then not worry about the other little details. I think ours would be well within that budget if we hadn't splurged on our photographer.
