  1. Oh my gosh, those pics are wonderful. I took a deep breath when I saw the first one! (I'm a dork I know) You look so happy and you are beautiful! Can't wait for wedding pics...
  2. I don't have a suggestion for a resort, but I wanted to say that I would take what you read on tripadvisor with a grain of salt. I think that site is great to check out people's pics, but as for the reviews, there are just some people who will always find something to complain about. One guy complained that people spoke Spanish at one of the resorts I was considering- Hello, its in Mexico. lol So, just figured I would throw that out there. If the beach is what is most important to you, then find a place with a great beach and unless all of the reviews are complaining about the same things I wouldn't worry too much about them. There are also some great photogs on this site who live in the area and could probably make some recommendations for you... Good luck!
  3. Welcome! I agree with pp, wedding in Mexico so its easier for your guests, then hm in Thailand! Best of both worlds.

It just guarantees a rate and a number of rooms. They could be spread out all over the place. And actually, most of the block contracts state that within X number of weeks (usually 6- any rooms not booked can be given away, so you're not even guaranteed the rooms if they haven't been paid in advance. Personally, I would find a TA that will work with each of your guests individually and doesn't require a block or more than just a deposit. I was thinking that a "block" being held for you would be specific rooms. Duh! What you said makes more sense. Clearly, I have just left everything in the hands of my wonderful TA. lol She got the rate thru a wholesaler as well and people only need to put down a $150.00 deposit with the balance due at some point in November.

Congrats on choosing your resort. That's more than half the battle. lol
  6. I think I've decided to bag the whole AHR idea, although I haven't told my FI yet. I've got enough party planning with the DW. I just don't have it in me to do another. When we were going to do it, we were going to wait a few months and have a backyard bbq as well. We were figuring the easier the better.

I'm getting married there January 10th! and will be at Paradisus from the 5th to the 17th. We did not book a block of rooms. I don't think the resort is that big that people need to be that close to each other. When I looked at how it was set up it didn't look like you could be that far away from each other even if you wanted to be, but I guess it depends on your group and how many people you have. We are expecting only 25-30 guests to book.
  10. Check on ebay. I got mine there and they worked out to be $1.90 each including the shipping cost.
  11. Great pics. I love your dress! Glad to hear your day went well.
  12. Welcome! Costa Rica is on my list of places to go in my lifetime. Happy planning!

  15. Before I went to bed last night I remembered that I used to use this website when I was really serious about exercising and eating right. It is FitDay - Free Weight Loss and Diet Journal I haven't been on there in a long time, but its a place that you can log your food and exercise. It will show you how many calories you've eaten, what was carb, protein and fat and how much you burned from exercising. The part I liked best was that I could enter custom foods using the nutrition labels on what I actually ate. It took some time to enter them, but once they were in there it was way easy to log my food for the day.
  16. So glad to hear that things are looking up. Hopefully they just continue to get better. I agree that going to the therapist on your own would still be a good thing right now. Hope you're having a good Monday!
  17. Welcome to tthe forum! I will be at Paradisus right before you...

Today I walked for like 45 minutes... no jogging tho- nothing chased me. lol Joining the bigggest loser 3 thread sounds good too. I'll do that Monday. From what I've read lately a lot of trainers are leaning toward interval training instead of maintaining one steady pace the whole time. So, you can always build up to running for a longer period of time, like start one minute jog/ 2 minutes walk then go to 2 min jog/ 2 min walk then 3 min jog/ 1 min walk etc... also that is a good way for you to vary your workout and gives you some built in goals to reach.
