Welcome to BDW! There are lots of couples on here getting married in Mexico, so I'm sure you'll find tons of information.
  2. ^^^ FYI I do have TONS of photos of Atlantis - quick snapshots, including photos at night. The link is in my bio. Here's a TinyURL too though: Photos
  3. Tell her to make sure she has insurance, that is the biggest step. She might be able to leave it in a storage room at the front desk. Sometimes in really nice hotels they have safety deposit boxes at the front desk for guests. Otherwise I would suggest she grin, bear it, and lug it all around with her. I'd suggest having an extra person tag along with you to help carry stuff and watch the equipment while she's shooting.
  4. Wow, this sounds like a repeat of what we went through... I am VERY serious about that. I'm sorry to hear that you are having these troubles. From personal experience I can say that starting fresh is probably your best option. We really scaled back with what we were planning. We lost 80% of our income this year... so it's been really hard. For us the first thing to go was all of the huge plans for the AHR. You may want to think about booking some of your vendors separate from your coordinator - and talk to the vendors about your budget. Many of them can really work with you more than you might have expected. If you have questions or just need someone to talk to about this, send me a message. Don't worry yourself too much, things will fall into place - they always do.
  5. I'm going with stick to the plan. She's being selfish by putting her "wants" before you and him.
  6. I'm sorry you're having problems! I'd be bummed too. None of my friends are coming, but we haven't sent our invitations yet and I already know that. I know how disappointed you must be though. They raised their own bar.
  7. I'll be the first to say that I think it's silly that most of the sample dresses are the smaller sizes. If the average woman in the US is a size 12, brides are getting married older (not 16 or 1, and the dresses run two sizes smaller - why don't they order sample sizes in 14s or 16?! That has really irritated me the entire time. I'd call back to the shop, asked to speak to a manager and let them know about your experience. Then, find a shop with a really fantastic reputation in your area and call to see if they have that dress or can get a sample that would be about your size. Sometimes if you ask nicely they will order samples in other sizes.
  8. Hey everyone, I would LOVE to see some really awesome photos of grooms on the beach. Something that isn't the couple, just the groom. If you have anything super inspiring, pleas post it. Thanks!

    Welcome to the board!
  14. I have very thick and naturally curly hair that I straighten. The only way I can even comb through it is if I use the Paul Mitchell Detangling Conditioner. I've tried a lot of the other store & salon brands, but for me Paul Mitchell Detangling conditioner makes the biggest difference. If I run out or can't find it I put my hair up in a messy bun and don't even bother because I can't comb through it. I like the smell of the Biolage products... but the conditioner doesn't work as well.
  15. Personally, I'm a very upfront person. If it were me I would call him and let him know what you overheard. Then tell him that you really want him at your wedding, but it's immensely important to you that he be supportive of you during this time, and that is why you invited him. Then let the chips fall where they may. He'll either realize that what he did was shameful and hopefully show up with a better attitude, or realize the bad attitude isn't welcome and probably decide not to come.
  16. A lot of brides wear their dress twice. However, I do hear about brides wearing a cocktail dress from time to time.
  17. Oh, that sounds like a ton of fun! I think it would be a fantastic idea.
  18. Congrats! I keep looking at photos from out there. It's sooo pretty!
