  1. Amy you just reminded me to post...Did an hour spin this morning! I was never a morning person, but I love being able to get my workout in and still get to work by 8:30am! I think I'm going to add an easy yoga session in tonight after work b/c my body is in serious need of a stretch.

Here's a question for everyone: When did you buy your airfare? Here is the link to the store I used: eBay Store - Plumeria's Wedding Flower Boutique: Silk Wedding Bouquet Sets, Wedding bouquets, Silk Flowers Roberta - the vendor - has been great so far, really concerned with the final product and allows returns if need be. I'll post a pic when I get the bouquet and bout. The feedbacl from another BDW girl has been excellent so I'm not worried in the slightest. To answer your other question: We put a deposit on our airfair/hotel package in March to lock in the price and the balance for our package in November

I have an idea of how many will attend (at least 60)...do you think I should start making/printing/putting things together based on that number and just figure on doing more if needed come November when we get our final count? I don't want to OVER order things like welcome bags and pashminas, but I also don't want any extras to be/look different than the rest because they were last minute add ons... Advice please The only reason I'm able to get a head start on these things is because I have deposits for 45 guests already. We had to send our invites out in May, the deposit was due at the end of June and the final payment is due the beginning of Novemeber - we are all booking through my TA who specializes in DW and is an angel! I am estimating approx 50 people to round up slightly as we still have a few stragglers...We originally thought we were going to have 30 people book, so I'm glad I didn't start doing anything too early because I would have been way off my numbers. I actually only ordered 24 fans (1 fan per couple) to save space and $$ - I know the men in my group won't be caught waving a ribbon and orchid accented fan! Good luck starting your projects!
  4. I finished decorating my raffia fans on Sunday with silk orchids and ribbon. Check that off the list! The BM dresses are due to arrive this week along with my bouquet and my man's bout. We have to go shopping for my FI's suit soon before they are out of season as well as the GM shirts. I am currently working on booking the photog for the wedding and TTD and the photog for my BD session in October. Still so much to do...
  5. Hey ladies, I'm looking for a TTD dress that is stapless and chiffon. My actual wedding gown is lace and I plan to wear it again at the ATH so I can't swim in it... I'm hoping someone has a dress at home that may not be in perfect condition that they would want to sell. White, stapless, chiffon and about a size 8 (depends on the designer and measurements) are my only requests. If anyone has a dress they want to get rid of (maybe your used TTD?) please let me know. PS: I'm hoping to spend under $75 for the dress.
  6. Hmmm, we were wondering the same thing....you might want to check with the wedding venue to find out if they have something similar....it might be better than trying to get them down there....Good luck!

This time there was no denying... My parents have two Boston's two and they LOVE garbage! They give you a look like, "what? are you kindding? it wasn't me!" -- too funny!
  8. OMG - amazing post! I'm trying to be quiet while I sit here giggling at my desk!

  10. Welcome! Come by the January brides thread and keep us posted on your planning progress! We are almost date twins (Jan 28th for me) - happy planning!
  11. That's awesome! I am totally checking out value village for mine!
  12. Hola chicas! I did an hour spin class this morning (2nd time out) and am proud to report my booty isn't sore! and I felt great after! I gotta be honest, getting up at 5:30 to go to class has hit me now and I'm hurting for a coffee....
  13. I agree with the ladies -sorry! It is a little on the freaky side for me....but ultimately, it is up to you and your man if it is 'you' and your guests will 'get' it, I say go for it!
  14. Oh Kathi! Just think, in 3 weeks you will be marrying your honey and none of the rest will matter...but I know in the meantime I know it must be a bit overwhelming! I give you credit for taking on everything right now and not totally breaking down. Keep smiling and lean on your man when he comes home from business. Good luck Kathi!
  15. Good luck planning! You don't have alot of time but that is the beauty of a DW - most of the work is done for you or done once you get to your location! Have fun and check out the January 2009 planning thread!

Good luck BeachBride! I would recommend getting the dress asap b/c it takes 4-6 months for it to come in....trying to find it off the rack at this point might be your best bet...plus it will likely be less expensive! I just ordered my bouquet from an ebay vendor and she has been soooo helpful! They are realtouch flowers and were shipped on Friday so I should have them this week. I'll let you know what they look like when I get them. I was behind on ordering from AA so I found this vendor from another girl on BDW and it has been a great experience. Good luck!
  17. We are a more the merrier as long as we know you kind of couple....I didn't want strangers attending our wedding because it is important that everyone attending the wedding is a special person in our lives in one way or another. We are happy to other people book on the trip that we don't know, but I wouldn't feel comfortable with them at our wedding...but then again, we are generally pretty private people. We just recently had one person who just booked that was not sent an invite but knows my FI from when he was in diapers. She told his mom that she wanted to come to 'his' wedding....(her words, not mine) and my FMIL okayed it and said she could book. To be honest, this lady kind of scares me, but I am prepared to get bridezilla on her if she tries to push anyone around...She did it to me once before and it was not appreciated.... Anyways, I don't think she would try anything on the day, but she is just a crude and rough woman that I am totally not thrilled to be hosting....Oh well, we'll see how it goes...
  18. I have been using reusable bags for groceries for about a year and a half since they began selling them in almost every food store we shop. I even got an insulated reusable bag for my perishables and frozen food. It made such a difference not getting our groceries packed in plastic that we actually don't have a plastic bag in the house. I still feel bad using the plastic garbage bags though...any alternatives out there? Plus doggie poop pick-up from the backyard isn't exactly paper bag friendly....any advice?
  19. Congrats and welcome fellow Canadian!
  20. $1665 CAD from Ottawa 75 invites sent 45 guest attending and more to book Grand Palladium Bavaro, Punta Cana 4*
  21. I did 1 hour weight class last night and I was feeling it for sure. Amarillis- Is the Nike Plus the thing for your shoe? I remember seeing it a while back in stores...
  22. Thanks Amy! This vendor is super fast and is shipping in under a month, so at least if you decide to go faux, you still have a bit of time!
  23. I'll have a pic of my bouquet hopefully by Friday when she'll have it done and ready to ship - I'll be posting it when I get don't you gals worry!
