  1. I tried doing a search on this but didn't find anything. I know when you start a thread or reply to a thread you are then subscribed to that thread. I've been getting daily updates overnight on each of these threads if there has been activity for that day. I love getting these updates so I can review in the morning and see if I missed anything. The last couple nights I've only been getting an update on one of the threads even though there are a couple others that had activity that day. I checked the settings and they show daily updates. Is there something else I need to do to get these update e-mails to show up again overnight? Thanks, Tiffany

If can't pull this up let me know and I'll take a picture of the tag from the dress and post it. 3. I just wanted to mention how great this company is to work with. I e-mailed to see about getting another dress and mentioned that I was using it for my bridesmaid and she told me about one they have that's a little more dressier in micro-fiber. They currently only carry it in black but will be also carrying it in turquoise. Their shipment is due in late next week for the turquoise ones. She even offered to hold one aside for me. They have been so nice and helpful and are super quick to respond to any questions I had. I can't wait to see the other dress in turquoise so we can decide which one we like best. I now how we all love dealing with great vendors so I just wanted to share my great experience with this company. Here's a link to the micro-fiber dress. If you're looking for a color other then black or turquoise I would send a message to ask if they might be able to get other colors as well. ELAN Micro-Fiber Convertible One Shoulder Dress BLACK Oh and she also mentioned that the sizes on the jersey one are very similar between the small to medium and the medium to large. The micro-fiber one is a one-size fits most.
  4. My mom just ordered her dress. Here's a link to the dress she ordered. Plus Size Mother of the Bride at Roamans.com It's not super fancy but not really casual either. I'm not sure yet what FMIL is going to wear. Her and FSIL are going shopping this week to see if they can find something.
  5. We chose La Hacienda for our reception dinner. Since you have to chose the same menu item for your whole group I thought this was the best option for us. Not everyone enjoys seafood or steak so I thought we could go with the mixed fijitas and that should hopefully work out for a majority of our group.
  6. We stayed at the Iberostar Dominicana last year and it was fabulous. The Dominicana, Punta Cana, and Bavaro are all a part of the same resort. The Dominicana and Punta Cana are basically the same thing. The rooms are in towers like 3 or 4 floors high. They upgraded our room to the Bavaro side which have rooms that are in like villa style buildings, only 4 rooms per building, 2 on each floor. Even though our room was on the Bavaro side we could only eat at the buffet and restaurants that go with the Punta Cana and Dominicana which was totally fine with us. They had great food there and tons of seafood. They cooked piayya(sw) on the beach several times a week with lobster, shrimp, and mussels. I'm sorry I can't tell you anything about the weddings because we didn't see any or look at anything like that while we were there but it was a great resort. Lots of beach to walk in both directions and the entertainment staff was wonderful as well.
  7. I just wanted to mention something especially for the ladies who mentioned they were going to buy it in white. The material is very thin. I have the turquoise one so it's not see through or anything but you could see my nipples through it. So you'd either have to wear a strapless bra or get some of those coverup things for your nipples.
  8. I'm getting a bikini wax next Sunday and it's driving me crazy! I can totally understand where you are coming from. I did my legs once and decided not to do them again. It was terrible growing them out and very itchy and uncomfortable and then after the wax they hurt because the skin was so sensitive so I just figured shaving my legs was better. I still absolutely get the bikini wax because that is so nice! I've done my underarms a few times and that's nice but it is painful but of course only temporary pain. Good Luck, it'll be totally worth it to be all hair free. I'm not sure how fast your hair grows but you might want to bring a razor with you for the little bit that grows back while you're there.
  9. Hi Ladies, I just ordered a convertible dress I found online. I'm not sure if we're going to use them as bridesmaid dresses or not yet but that was the idea when I purchased this. We wanted to see how it looked and worked before buying the other one. If we don't end up using for my bridesmaids I'll have another dress for something else. The dress is only $35.99 and free shipping. I ordered the dress on Monday night and got it today. They are super quick, they also included a helpful guide they made to wear the dress in different ways. Here is the link to the website NEW Convertible ELAN Jersey WHITE Dress to Skirt Small I also tried it on several different ways to show my sister and since I know how much you ladies love pictures I'll share with you as well. This is my first time posting pictures so hopefully it works. I personally like the first one the best and keep in mind that I did these myself so I'm sure with another person helping you could get it just perfect and do the other styles as well.
  10. I missed everyone over the past week! BDW has become so much a part of my daily life. I actually had to work all day, UGH. I'm going to tell FI that there's a BDW get together in Chicago and they are doing a silly makeup party first and then we're going to meet for dinner. That way when I come home with more makeup then usual he won't think too much about it. I don't know what I'm going to do if he asks too many questions because I'm a TERRIBLE liar.
  11. Me too:) Thanks! I think Tammy is getting everything finalized with the hotel so we should be hearing more from her shortly.
  12. How many points do you need to change your username? I tried it and it says I don't have enough points. Can someone donate some points to me so I can change my username? Thanks, Tiffany
  13. Let me know if you find anything out. I really want to have fireworks after the ceremony but I don't think they are allowed. My alternative idea was to get sparklers but that's so very different then a fireworks finale.
  14. You know you're addicted to BDW when one morning you check your blackberry/e-mail for the review of the previous days posts and you don't have any and freak out. Yesterday for some reason the updated e-mails weren't sent and I was so upset I had to come to work and login right away to see if I missed anything from the posts I've replied to.
  15. We are staying at our wedding resort for 9 nights in Riviera Maya, so we'll be there 2 nights after everyone else leaves by ourselves. Then we're going over to Cozumel for 7 nights and then staying in Cancun our last night before we head home. So we'll be gone for a total of 17 nights, this is the longest vacation I've ever been on and I am so excited for everything!
  16. Congrats to Roja and of course to her mommie too because I'm sure she's the one who took the fabulous picture!
  17. Hello All! I got an e-mail yesterday from my travel agent who had one of her coworkers just return from this resort. The review was really good and she said everything was really nice. The thing they seemed to be super excited about was that the resort has Corona in the bottle. I'm not a beer drinker but FI is super excited about this and I thought I would pass it along to the rest of you in case you were wondering:)
  18. Josie, I know it's a hard place to be in that situation. My FI was also previously married but for about 7 years and has two kids out of it. This is my first marriage and my parents are pretty much paying for everything. We have not even discussed or brought up his mom or family paying for anything but their trips to Mexico. I know it's not fair but the family already paid whatever they did the first time around. Unfortunetly that didn't work out but they should not have to turn around and pay again. If FI family does anything for us I'll be grateful for it but if not I'm okay with that as well. It's sort of part of the package since we're getting married to people who have been married previously. With that being said I understand where you're coming from but you have to see it from their point of view as well.
  19. Thanks for posting that Nina! I'll have to check it out when I get home so I don't get "caught" looking at it here at work:)
  20. We originally had planned on doing the whole legal process in Mexico but it seems like it's too much of a hassle. So we're going to secretely go to the courthouse a week or two before we leave and get legally married here. We're not making a big deal about it, not going to exchange rings if we don't have to. Then our ceremony on the beach will be our real deal and no one will know the difference. Just have to figure out how to tell my mom why we don't need to do the blood tests in Mexico:) Then we're having our AHR 6 months later in April because my Grandparents go to Puerto Rico for the winter months and don't get back until March and we want them to be there. Plus we have some other family that will have to travel to both places and we don't want them to have to travel twice so close together.
  21. We have one more girl joining us so we just need one more to book this with us and then it's a go. Come on Chicago girls, we have two great photographers and an amazing makeup artist to make us look awesome and get some really hot pictures for our future husbands!

If you don't use the gazebo there are additional charges. We're doing the arch on the beach because it's a little less expensive then the other one. I think it's great that you are getting involved and doing the planning for your wedding. I have the prices and things for the different set-ups on the beach at home so I can send them to you tonight if you want. Just PM me your e-mail address or post it in here and I'll send you what I have. I originally booked everything with Damarys but she's no longer there. Diana is the new girl and maybe still getting used to everything because several people have said the communication hasn't been so good. I haven't had to deal with her except for a couple small questions so I can't really say first hand. I did see a review on tripadvisor.com or somewhere that said Diana was wonderful once they got to the resort. So just try your best to bare with her, everything should be great! We're getting married on November 14th so we'll see you there!
  23. Hi ladies! I just wanted to bump this thread to see if we could get two more people interested in doing the Chicago BD session with us. I know after the session in January there were some ladies interested in another one. Here's your opportunity. Hopefully the date works and we can all get our BD pics done and meet each other. Post a message here or PM me if you're interested in doing a BD session with Tammy & Trish. Thanks!
  24. If you have travel insurance you will be credited the price difference. If you don't have the insurance they are not obligated to lower your price but sometimes they can work around things. We got a great deal on our package but then a couple weeks later I noticed it was $150 per couple cheaper. I wasn't super upset about it because I tought we still got a great price but I mentioned it to my travel agent just in case and she was able to lower the prices of all our packages since it was the resort that lowered their costs and not the airlines.
