  1. Haha, I'm so psyched for our pre-wedding party I added a very expensive "frozen concoction maker" to our registry (didn't think we'd get it, but I couldn't find the cheaper one my mom has) and it was one of the first things to get bought!!! (I'm thinking maybe a couple of friends went in on it). That'll be a perfect excuse to use it!!!
  2. If you get the exact amount you need, what are you going to do if more people book? You still have a lot of time...
  3. Ok, good to know we aren't THAT weird..well, we are weird, but for different reasons LOL Don't get me wrong, I 100% understand just wanting the people you invite there too. The cost for the reception are "per table"...so far the extra people aren't adding a whole table just taking seats on one we'd have needed anyway. We kind of look at it as some of our closest friends and family aren't coming (FI's dad and a friend who I was MOH for) so if people WANT to come, why not let them. And this is the selfish reason that is at the bottom of the list with why we're ok with it, but...it does help that we have a group contract and the more rooms we have booked, we'll get certain perks...so when "definates" back out (like my friend) we aren't down a room. I want it to be a trip for everyone to remember And I'm sure it will be!
  4. We let it go for 2 weeks at a time...especially when there isn't that much of it! As long as it deosn't smell or isn't too close to the house that you smell it, I don't think it matters LOL
  5. Maybe she wants to put in for her time off now. Her company might work on a first come/first served basis or seniorty. We are staying 11 nights. We have guests staying as few as 3 nights and as many as 8. Granted FI and I will have a total of 2 nights alone at the resort (earliest guests are coming down the day after us, latest are leaving the day before us). We arent' worried, the resort is HUGE, we can be alone if we want to be
  6. Ok, so there are a ton of threads on "Un-invited Guests" and how they are irritating. FI and I are very much "the more the merrier" type people. Even in our home, if we're having a bbq or something, we don't mind if you bring someone. Well, with our wedding, I guess we are the same way...We were at a very close friends house and his SIL and BIL were there. We've met them a few times and they are pretty cool (and fun) people. So we verbally invited them and when it comes to invitation time, we'll send them one. After getting over "we aren't really invited" and our friend reassuring them that it's ok for them to come, they booked their tickets. I guess they mentioned it to two of their friend and they asked if they could come! Our friend told them he'll check with us, but as far as he knows us, we won't mind. And we don't. FI's mom's best friend...apparently her MIL and SIL want to come. I've never met these people, but again, I don't mind. They even said that they don't necessarly want to come to the wedding, just to Mexico. We told her that of course they can come and if they are coming that they will be invited to everything and treated as any other guest (welcome dinner, wedding, OOT bag, etc.). FI and I are talking about having a "Margarita Party & BBQ" sometime in Sept or Oct (if it's not too cold out) for all of our local already booked Mexico guests to get together adn meet each other before heading to Mexico. I feel like we're the only bride and groom who don't mind this...
  7. That stinks!! I broke my toe a few years ago and the Dr. had me keep it taped to the toe next to it for a couple of weeks. Good luck!!
  8. Yes, I stalk my registry...mostly because I have nothing better to do and it's fun to wonder who got you what I know I'm having a shower, but it's a "surprise" which means, I think I've basically figured out when/where it's going to be With that being said...we got our first gift today!!! Now, am I supposed to wait until my shower to open it? I don't think so, but you never know... FI - what is that? me - our first gift, I think it's our iron FI - how can it be the iron, didn't you just put that on last week? me- yep, and it's already been fulfilled, what else would be in this size box? And then we proceeded to take turns taking the paper off, it was fun And yes, it was the iron I can't tell my mom or sister, because they will be upset that I now "know" the invitations have gone out (I'm supposed to think they are going out in a week or 2).

  19. I've got kids under 4 free and up to 17 they are $50 per night. Hope that helps.
  20. Adventure looks beautiful!!!! If we didn't have the possibility of kids coming, we would have chosen there. I think it's DanielNDerek (probably spelled wrong), but I think I was her sister in law that got married there adn she sent me pics. I know she said it in a thread or two...Do a search, make sure it's her and ask for the pics, they're great
