  1. You can't please everyone now and you won't be able to in the future. My best friend didn't come to my DW and I went through the same frustrations during the planning process. In the end, I'm glad she didn't come because I would have spent the whole time worrying about her. I think she would've been critical of everything (hotel, wedding, etc) since she felt "forced" to go.
  2. Maybe the Riu has "loosened" the rule. I was married at the Palace in April and, like Sandra, only had to pay $80 and had no other problems.
  3. I was at the palace for 8 days and every night we peeked our head into La Pacha. It was empty every night. I'm wonderinging if showing up would be better than renting it out?! It will be open regardless with a d.j. and bartender. The steakhouse food is good. A standard menu option may be faster...My reception was in a private area, but with Steakhouse food. All of the sparkling wine, beer, and regular wine will be free at the steakhouse.

Without booking the Terrace, your party could end up inside the restaurant. and it will only be for the hour and 45 minutes. My rehearsal dinner was booked at the "San Jose" mexican restaurant. When our party arrived, the staff sat us inside. I requested that we sit on the Terrace and they said no because they wanted to save that for hotel patrons. There was tons of room out there and only 45 in my party... I would contact Daniella immediately and find out if you can be guaranteed the Terrace (for free). If she says yes - SAVE THE E-MAIL!!

But from what I hear you basically plan everything when you get there which is why they aren't super responsive. If you want something in particular they want to know a week or two in advance but other than that you can do most things when you get there-at least that is what I've been told. When I went to the beach is was very rocky but that was three years ago, things could be different now. I had to share my experience with you - SoulMoxie: Best Laid Plans... it makes me laugh now, but not then!

If you pay the $500 for the terrace at the Mexican Restaurant you have the Terrace for the whole night - 6:30-11:00. Dinner, dancing, etc. This includes food, wine, beer and champagne. If you choose a semi-private reception it is free, but only for the hour and 45 minutes. depending on the size of your party they will seat other hotel patrons near you.

  12. My welcome bags were 20 beach bags (straw) and everything to go inside of them. My maid of honor, and close friend took them for us and they both had issues coming into Cabo. They were both pulled aside and questioned. Once they explained that the bags were gifts for guests they were let off the hook. I don't know about weight limits on Mexicana, but they're typically 2 pieces of luggage at 50lbs each. I think it is pricey to have additional weight. Can you have friend's or family help with the load?
  13. I completely understand everyone's frustration! The prices the Riu comes up with are ridiculous! I was married there on April 12th. I believe most bridal parties did go to the disco after dinner. I was able to pay $500 for a private area, but talk Daniella into giving me the Steakhouse food for free. My reception was in the Baja Norte area, but I was not charged a per person food rate. If anyone has any questions, don't hesitate to ask!!
  14. Frustrating!! Have you considered any other photographers? Is your heart set on Gilda?
  15. I love the pix! You had a great photographer! Good subjects, too!

I can't wait for the Bachelorette though. She deserves a good man after the fiasco she went through. I can't wait either! The bachelorette is so stinking cute!
  17. What a pain in the ass! Good luck dealing with the airlines.
  18. Shayne grew on me a little bit this episode, but I can't help but wonder if she's doing this for her "acting career". You're right though, Alyssa, the proposal was pretty amazing and she did seem super genuine!
  19. I can't wait either!! Who do you all think it will be? - can we post a poll? I don't know how to do that. I'm personally voting for Chelsea...
