  1. Also, regarding the food: Our dinner was at Las Fuentes. Everyone loved the pasta with shrimp, but the turkey dish didn't go over so well. Isaac and I ate dinner at El Cocotal the last night. We were not impressed. Not even a little. In fact, Isaac could not cut through his pork chop, let alone eat it.
  2. We're back! Everything was beautiful. I'll write my review later. A few quick things though: Both of my parents were pretty sick for 4-5 days. All we can figure out was they were the only ones to eat at Rincon Mexicana. A few other people had problems, but no one else longer than a day. I didn't wear a veil, and I don't know how any of your girls did! It was sooo windy, esp at Gazebo 55. Everything went very smoothly with the wedding and the coordinators (well, they were late picking me up, but they said it was because they were waiting on my guests. I think they were just running on "Mexican time"). Quote: Originally Posted by shannon We are back!!! DH and I peeked in on Anna at her reception. I wish we all could have gotten together! Funny story, the entire time my dad could only remember Anna's name, so anytime he came across anyone with an English accent, he would ask if they knew Anna! Finally he met one of her friends. Very nice people!
  3. After a long day in clinic, we'll be heading for the airport tomorrow evening. Can't believe our big day is almost here. Yay!
  4. Be careful with browsing etsy! If it were me, my next major trauma would be all the $$ I spent shopping! One more bonus: he's so little he won't remember this surgery or hospitalization at all. That's even better than if he has to have his tonsils out later and all he remembers is the ice cream and sore throat.

I was terrified to start my rotations as well, but it was tons easier than I thought. If all else fails, just fall back on the "I'm just a student" excuse. No one expects you to know everything, and sometimes they expect you to know nothing and are surprised with anything you might have retained. Your rotations are designed to give you real-life scenarios under direct supervision so that first you can learn stuff in a new way to pass boards and second so you have training to fall back on when you're on your own. Good luck! You can make it!

We get to the Cancun airport at 10 the day of your wedding, then we'll be staying in the Casitas too. Your wedding was at Gazebo 55, right? What time again? I will be looking for you, and I would love for the 4 of us (if we can get the boys to agree!) to have a drink! Maybe Anna can join us.
  7. Did BrigOpens get married legally at EDR or was it a symbolic ceremony? He can send you his program and outline if so.
  8. Shannon, only 1 MORE WEEK until your wedding!!! I can't wait to sneak my peek and see how beautiful you are!
  9. If the policy is truly changed and they stay true to their word in other areas of the planning, I would be much more inclined to start sending friends down there for their weddings.
  10. Wow! How awful for you! Do you have replacement bridesmaids that might be able to fit into one of them? Would you fit in one? If not, I would follow up with a phone call. "Your beautiful 'occassion' dresses are here now! We're sad you can't wear them in our wedding, but I can't wait to see you in them! When should we get together to swap out the dresses so I can pay the store? I hope we can do it over coffee or dinner!"
  11. I thought it was time to add a couple of photos of our legal ceremony. Enjoy!
  12. http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t19177 This probably has the most current info on photographers. You may get more responses posting on that thread as well, as this thread has become quite outdated with the policy changes you mentioned.
  13. My mother/grown daughter pair is getting one bag, however, inside that bag I have included an extra bag and a few other duplicate items, such as the zip-up flowery coin pouch and chapstick. The advil, other medications, beach ball, post-its, hand sanitizer, etc they can share. They have the same amount of snacks and candy as the other couples. Hope that helps!

It's not wrong at all!

Interesting choice. And come on, Gasolina? That's Puerto Rican! Where's the Mexican music? No salsa? No mariachi?

How would you explain this, though? "Honey, we have to get married on Tuesday instead of Wednesday because that's when Mandy's getting married!" Let me know how that works out for you!

  20. The best advice I got one time for new hair styles applies here as well: don't tell anyone what you're going to do, then people don't feel like they have the right to give negative opinions once it's done

It's a lot of the stuff left I was putting off. I'm also working on music. I'll be posting my dance party mix one of these days. I'm cropping a bunch of songs & putting them together for the AHR. So can I keep playing? Actually Isaac and I have been trying to figure out our music for our reception in Mexico, so you're going to have to keep working. So far, we pretty much only have salsa music. But you can play a little, I guess....
  22. We had actually gotten our marriage license a few weeks ago, so we just took it to his dad's house and had a friend marry us. We're not telling a ton of people, so I'm not quite sure yet what to say when people ask what I did for my birthday!
  23. UPDATED WITH PICS!! See post #25. Tuesday afternoon, I guess Isaac and I didn't have enough to do, or maybe he'd forgotten to get me a birthday present, but we decided to go ahead and get legally married on my birthday, which was on Thursday! I hazard to guess that this will be my most memorable birthday ever! Now we just have to get through the next couple weeks until we can have our wedding. By the way, has anyone ever thought about how strange it sounds when you tell people that you're getting married, going on your honeymoon, then having your wedding?
  24. So I heard about this thread in another thread. Somehow, I just knew it had something to do with either Morgan or Jean-Marcus or both. And now that I've found the ferret thread, who do I see started this whole show? None other than my very own idea coordinator! No wonder the ideas have slowed down! We're too busy dressing our imaginary pets! While I do commend you on the constant parade of photos, don't stop with the ideas! And by the way, FI thinks we're all nuts!
