  1. Oh my God!!! What a bad day I had yesterday! I'm with the designer checking the final draft of the wedding invitations, when Brian (aka the fiancé) calls me to let me know that our wedding date, April 10th 2009, was the same day than Good Friday. Neither Brian or I are much of catholic people, but our parents, grandparents, family, guests, etc, are so I don't want be rude considering that all my family is Mexican and his from Puerto Rico. So I'm right know contacting all my vendors and checking if they're available , and so far only the "Club de Playa" answered my email saying no problem. I don't have my dress yet (I'm still on a diet!), I haven't sent the invitations (although I called or emailed everybody and told them the new date), I don't have my menu yet, etc, etc, etc. Ahhh I feel stressed!

  4. I asked different quotes from different vendors including only the canopy, bridesmaid's bouquets and my bouquet. The canopy with just a small arrangement on top and the bouquets with pink and green roses for the bridesmaids and for me with roses and orchids. Her quote was by far the most expensive one, even more than Mazarte and Flower Cart. I got a cheaper quote from Patricia, but she didn't seem reliable to me so in the end I went with Rayen that was a little bit more expensive that Patricia but better quality designs. And they won't charge me a delivery fee, so with what I'm saving I might be able to afford some centerpieces and something to float in the pool of the reception terrace. Her contact info is [email protected] with claudia mendez and her web page is Floreria Rayen - FlorerÃ*as en Los Cabos I can't upload the pictures but if you get in her web page I'm going with the first canopy showed in the gallery Rayen Flower Shop - Flowers for Weddings in Cabo and with the 6th bouquet of the gallery but with pink instead. In Hope this helps

The Associated Press: Taxi spat flares in Mexico's Cabo San Lucas resort Type taxis in Cabo in Google and you'll see that apparently everything is ok. My WC told me I just need to make sure I have my transportation prepaid and I'll be fine. Good Luck!
  7. My WC told me she doesn't have a flower shop really (??), so her flowers aren't as fresh as the other vendors. For what he told me, apparently she gets the flowers one day before by plane, but it doesn't have a cold place to keep them, and when is really hot or humid the flowers don't stay as fresh as the ones from vendors that do have a cold place to keep them (apparently they gotta be in a room at 38, 39° or they will melt). So that's what he (my WC) says. I'm getting married in April at 4:30 pm and it's going to be hot, so I want to have fresh and good looking flowers, that's why I didn't chose her. I don't have a big budget for flowers but I don't want them to be ugly either. My WC recommended Rayen at downtown San Jose and they have beautiful designs as well and the price is pretty decent compared to other flower shop in town. The web page is Floreria Rayen - FlorerÃ*as en Los Cabos and the email I have is [email protected], her name is claudia mendez and she's been great from day 1. Hope this info helps and Good Luck!!

I like Jennifer Hatton's work but I contacted her a week ago and still nothing. I'm not worried because my wedding is in 7 months, but you must be going crazy. Here's her webpage Cake Options & Contact Info Good luck and we'll be waiting for the review!

Ok, back to topic, get in touch with Claudia (I like her for the name too, lol), she's a sweetheart. Good Luck! Here is the info: Floreria Rayen - FlorerÃ*as en Los Cabos [email protected]

I have been reading all the reviews and that has helped but if you guys could help it would be much appreciated. Thanks Wow!! I wish my fiance was half involved in the wedding!! I'm kinda jealous! He's just saying yes to everything I say, so hey, I'm gonna have the wedding of my dreams, jajaja. Ok, back to the question, I would totally recommend you to be your own WC because with some help in this forum and a little bit of will you can save that money and use it in something else. I'm having over 100 guests, the whole ceremony and party need to be bilingual (Mexican and American family, don't ask), my work and the diet and (so far) I haven't went crazy, so try it and if it gets overwhelming the hire one. And beware, some WC may add a little extra to the normal vendor prices to make more money than the fee they already charge, so check twice! Personally, I like Baja Weddings, but I chose to have lots of beautiful flowers and Juan Carlos to do my photography, so I had to cut cost! If you need some contact info let me know, I have a friend living in Cabo. Good Luck!

HOTELS: Firstly, we stayed at the Hotel Finesterra but disliked the location of the hotel so much that we ended up moving to Pueblo Bonito Sunset (which was awesome)! While we were, we visited the 4 PBs, Casa del Mar, Villa del Arco, Sheraton, Westin, Cabo Surf, Melia Cabo Real, Marquis & Fiesta Americana. My FAVORITE place was Casa del Mar...it was absolutely gorg and definitely designed for a wedding. However, the rooms are a bit pricy and I wasn't sure I wanted our guests to pay that much for a room on top of the cost of the flight to Cabo. We thought above having guests stay at the Sheraton and just have the wedding party stay at CDM, but thought there might be too much disconnect. That being said, we decided to go with our second most fave, the PB resorts. Definitely more reasonably priced and a nice touch allowing our guests full access to all 4 properties!!! I just want to add here that I also REALLY loved Melia Cabo Real. This property I actually liked MORE than the PBs, but my FI was worried about the food at an AI resort. Also, for any guests that decide not to stay at the AI, their day passes can add up pretty quickly in terms of cost....So PB IT IS!! If you have any questions about the other resorts, please let me know and I can provide more info! FOOD: We visited 3 restaurants while we were there: Sunset da Mona Lisa - just one word to describe this place: AMAZING!!! The view is exceptional at sunset! And the food was unbelievable! We are defo having our welcome dinner here. PICS BELOW!!! Pancho’s – Very nice. Good food but nothing exceptional. A bit pricey for what you get to be honest. A bit too casual I thought for a rehearsal dinner. Mi Casa – Huge and GREAT food! Great family place to have a dinner! PHOTOGRAPHER: Finally, I met with Juan Carlos!! Can I just say that he was extremely nice, on time & very interested in where our wedding was going to be, etc. Both my FI and I liked him right away. I can’t wait to work with him and neither of us are bothered by the 3 month wait for pics, so that shouldn’t be an issue. FYI, I’ve read before that he was a bit standoffish in person, but I definitely did not get this impression. He is a little scatter-brained though, but so is every great artist! I am very happy with our decision to go with him. CAKE: We went to Jennifer Hatton’s place to try her cakes and they were truly awesome! That being said, with our package with PB, we get a cake, so I don’t think we will use Jennifer’s unfortunately. (We’re trying to cut back on costs). DJ: We met with DJ Richie and he was just the nicest man ever! He brought his wife (also his assistant) with him and tried to take us to breakfast at this a nice local place. We had already eaten unfortunately, but we still sat and chatted with them for well over an hour. Such nice people and another great pick! Anyway, I think that’s about it. If any one needs more details or contact info, pls let me know and I will send it along. It's a shame you can't get Jennifer's cake!! They look so pretty on the web page and she's such a sweetheart, it's a shame, but we need to do some sacrifices to get great vendors like Juan Carlos. I had to cut some stuff, but I need him to be my pictures. Anyway, I'm curious about DJ richie, I've heard some cross references about him. So a little more of detail there for me would it help. Also, do you have a florist yet? Who's doing your hair and makeup? I still have no idea in that topic!!

Thank you I'm too trying to contact them to for a quote. When I get it I promise to share it. I'm looking for 80 chairs for the ceremony in the beach, a platform for the canopy area and 15 tables (10 pax per table) for the reception. I would recommend you to contact the supplier yourself, I heard some scary stories about WC that rise the prices to get a "cut", in spite the fact they are charging already a fee. Good luck!

I know you already found another place but just in case I wanted to let you know about the new ballroom. Well it's not the whole thing of getting married at Cabo having your party outdoors? I like outdoors weddings, I picture ballrooms are for cities. But thanks anyway!
