  1. ok, please send me a PM with your measurements and we will go from there. Thanks!
  2. The dress is beautiful. Do you know the style name? A bridal shop near me carries that line and I would love to try it on. I am too chicken to buy a dress without seeing it on otherwise.
  3. Everything looks amazing, have a wonderful wedding day!
  4. I just went to Staples today. They allow teachers to buy 25, for a penny each. They are 0.5 ounces each. They don't ask for ID, at least mine didn't.
  5. Thanks for all the compliments girls! All of the Martha Stewart stuff is really cute, but I think more pricey than the other kits. She has a website, Martha Stewart crafts, that has all the templates for at home printing. I would suggest waiting for their 50% coupon or they will also accept competitor's coupons. The seals on the front of the flower pocket are from the Brides collection, also at Michaels.

  7. Well, we wouldn't of done an engagment shoot unless it was pratically free, because we are on a tight budget. So I found a local photographer that was advertising 2 free engagement shoots plus a cd of photos in order to build his portfolio. His portfolio is already great and he has been a graphic designer for years, he just hasn't done any engagment shoots. So I have no idea about tipping etiquette when it comes to vendors, but do I tip him? If so, how much? Help!
  8. Thanks, I will definitely consider her and am anxious to get her pricing and locations. If her pricing is right I will most likely use her, afterall everyone has to start somewhere, how bad can someone mess up putting chairs on a beach! She basically coordinated a ton of things for me without being my actual coordinator because she wasn't doing that at the time. She is great to work with and her prices are always fair.
  9. I love sea turtles too, so I would use it!
  10. Thanks girls! I was a little worried they looked cheap, but your comments make me feel better about them.
  11. Invitations weren't all that important to me, and I needed to get them out fast due to booking deadlines for our cruise. I would of like to of gone a little more DIY, but I am happy with how they turned out for what they are. I bought two boxes of Martha Stewart invitation kits using Michaels 50% off coupon and then bought colored cardstock to print our cruise information on. I printed the cruise info at Staples for less than $3 and then printed the invites on my home printer. I was going back and forth on whether or not to do STDs, but for my situation I think this was the best route. The kits came with RSVP cards and envelopes, but I will use them as thank you cards, because I chose to have guests RSVP through our website.
  12. You may have seen the post already, but another member recommended the ebay seller gabbymacdesigns. That is where I will probably order from.
  13. Thank you for sharing your experiences with this coordinator, I wil definitely be taking it all into consideration. JBinjour- Thanks for the coordinator rec, I will check her out.
  14. We are having our wedding in Ocho Rios while in port on a cruise. I do not want to pay a large fee to use a resort, and would like to have a beach ceremony. We have been in contact with Jewel Marsh, wedding coordinator of Sunvillas, she has given me nonitemized quotes and never directly answers my specific questions. She was recommended by the restaurant we are using for the lunch. Has anyone gotten quotes from her or used her We have tried Almarie from TWJ since everyone says she so responsive, but she really hasn't been for us. She keeps giving me quotes for what we don't want. Any suggestions
  15. Thanks for all the votes and nice comments girls! I was already leaning towards #1,so i am glad that one is in the lead!

It's Maggie - Allison Marie. Thanks for the input!
  17. I went shopping today by myself , not so much fun but I had no one to recruit and my mom lives very far away. So, I would like some opinions on which dress looks best. I am getting married in Ocho Rios on the beach, and was planning to go real simple; however, I really like the Maggie and could have the crenolin taken out to make it lighter. BTW, these were the few shops that allowed pics and didn't try to lie and hide the designers/styles from me...this dress shopping thing is such a scam!!! One place told me they had no way of telling who the designer was...well, I am not an idiot I just looked at the label in the dress, uggghh! So which one do you like? Sorry, my flash wasn't working so well. #1- Maggie #2- Raylia #3- DB #4- DB
  18. I just received a quote for customizing the cruise package for 30 guests to include: transportation from the cruise port to ceremony and back chairs bridal bouqet 3 bridesmaids bouqets 1 hour of photography and music (I said either a sound system or a musician, but she did not clarify in the quote) she quoted me $2835, which I thought was high.
  19. I was on it when I was 21 (now 26). I had really oily skin so, so I don't know if it was this that kept my skin from getting too dry. I don't think I really needed to be on it, my skin was far worse in my eyes than others. However, my back would break out often, and now it rarely does. I did have to stop the treatment early, b/c I was losing a lot of hair and got really freaked out. I did have to do the blood test before I started and monthly. I had already had problems with my knees so I am not sure if the drug made it worse or not. Aquaphor is a must! Good Luck!
  20. I would love to see what you sent, my email is ufjamolei at yahoo.com. We are sailing on the Celebrity Century. Thanks! I printed the letter on beachy nice paper and used heavy duty envelopes. After sealing them, I put a wedding themed sticker on the back. They turned out great! I also had guests RSVP to my wedding website and that helped move along the process more quickly than a US Mail RSVP. As far as people flying to Jamaica for the wedding only...I wouldn't be afraid to mention something along the lines of...we will only be in Jamaica for a few hours for the wedding and you want to make sure they know that so they aren't dissapointed. Or, another way around that, is to book a cocktail/appetizer reception or luncheon back on the ship. Only cruise guests are allowed on the ship. That's what we are doing and it's pretty affordable. What cruiseline are you using?
  21. I have two issues: 1. We are just less than 7 months out from our wedding cruise (1/17/09), and we will be getting married in the port of Ocho Rios and have a lunch reception there as well. We are inviting all guests we would invite to a "normal" wedding, knowing many will not be able to attend. One of the main reasons we are having this type of wedding is because we can't afford a typical wedding, and we expect only a limited number of people will be able to cruise with us. Well, now as the details get out people are mentioning they might just fly to Jamaica instead of cruising. We would like to treat those that actually cruise with us to a nice lunch reception, but if the numbers get out of hand because people just fly in then it will really limit the type of reception we have. Now if a lot more people cruise then expected we have decided just to suck it up and pay what it takes to make it nice for them. I hope we don't sound cheap. In order to not let everyone else know of our Jamaica plans and to keep them from getting the same idea to fly we would like to vaguely word the invites by saying join us on our wedding cruise or something. So....is this wrong to do and if not, how should we word it So far I like: Because you have shared in their lives with your friendship and love, Jamie XXX and Jared XXX together with their parents Mr. and Mrs. Marc XXX and Mr. and Mrs. James XXX Invite you to share and celebrate their marriage blah blah blah we don't want to say aboard Celebrity Century because we won't be getting married on the ship. Issue #2: We have 40 days for our guests to put down a first deposit otherwise we lose the cabins. Therefore, I need to get them the booking info asap. Would it be okay to just go ahead and send invites now with a cardstock insert with booking information and no RSVPs? Then I could always send a reminder down the road requesting an RSVP if we are able to extend the deposit dates or in case people book seperate from the group. What do you think?? It seems silly to send save the dates and then send invitations after they would of already had to book. Thanks in advance girls!
  22. What a cute idea! Thanks for all the input girls! Right now I am attempting the passport STD, if this fails I will definitely try one of these. Thanks!
  23. Thanks for the ideas girls! Tami- I sent you a PM. Heather- Those cruise invites are really cute....I wish I could find something like that around here. WHo are using to plan the ceremony in Key West? I would of done vistaprint if I had more time, but I figure for what it costs for rush delivery I could make them on my own and not have to worry about not liking them when they arrive. What do you guys think about sending invitations out 7 months in advance I just think the magnet is a waste for us considering we have to get everyone to book so soon...not like we need to give people a reminder for months down the road. Does that make sense? I think we will eaither do a DIY save the week type card which would include all booking info....or we will just send invitations containing all booking info. What do you think? Are you all sending invites to everyone you sent STDs to, or only to those who show interest?
  24. Ok, here's the deal...we are going to get married in port on the beach in Key West or Ocho Rios while sailing on a cruise. We are deciding between 2 cruises in either Jan. or Feb. 2009. I know that is only about 7 months away and we need to get a move on! Well, we have given ourselves until this Friday to decide. This means once I have our TA block the cabins the countdown begins for deposits and the first deposit may be due as early as 2 weeks from that date! Therefore, once we block the cabins this weekend, I need to get the STDs with booking info out immediately! I plan to DIY them. My question is what should I send for an STD I would love to do the whole boarding pass or passport booklet, but the reality is I am short on time and creativity. Should I send some sort of brochure or card with the booking info (cruise description, prices, and TA info) along with a magnet?? You guys are all so creative....any ideas or templates you can think of? Thanks!
  25. I agree with everyone on the sash. I really like that dress, where is it from if you don't mind?
