  1. Great job, I was thinking of giving up on making my DIY bouquets, but these turned out great so it has inspired me.

The older cats are harder to adopt out, sad fact. hmmm....that's strange, I thought all the Humane Society's were no kill, the one I volunteered at in FL was, but I guess they could all be different.
  3. The Humane Society is a no kill shelter, although I don't think you should have to give your kitty up either!
  4. Hey Andrea, My cruise wedding coordinator hasn't been that great and will only be providing chairs and very minor decor if any. Her price per head for just a plastic chair with a sash is outrageous so she has pretty much built in her profit into the package...that said she probably won't be getting a tip. Believe me, she is making a huge profit as it is. It seems that your WC is more involved, I too would be interested in hearing the usual tip rate.
  5. I wanted a guest signature plate instead of a book, but I did not want to pay the ridiculous prices for them....so I DIYed mine. There are tons of stencils you can use, but I decided to keep it simple and freehand it. Here it is.... What I used/will use: one oven safe porcelain platter paintbrushes (I used Folkart One Stroke brushes, b/c I already had them) acrylic paint for glass and ceramics one porcelain pen/marker for guests to sign with oven to bake and set the paint/marker

She must of changed her supplier from the time you ordered. The more I look at them the more I think I am ok with them. I am even starting to like the phal. orchids, so I may keep both. Did you happen to get your AA bouquets in? I am still curious how many orchids it took to make them. Thanks!

Yes, I was looking for something a little brighter and more lime green; however, now that I search through pics of real ones, they seem to vary in shades of green (maybe it's the photographer?) I just need to accept the fact that these are fake and that's why they don't look exactly like the real ones! Here are a couple pics of real ones...
  9. I ordered 2 stems of natural touch green cybidium orchids from USI FLoral in order to DIY my own bouquets. I also ordered 1 stem of natural touch beauty phalaenopsis orchids. I planned on ordering some white roses and pink orchids from AA as well. Well...I received my USI Floral order today and I am somewhat disappointed. I am not sure if I had too high of expectations for a natural touch flower or what. The green cybidiums are questionable, they seem rather large and the green isn't as bright and vibrant as I thought they would be. The phal. orchids are going back...they are unnaturally huge (at least from any real ones I have ever seen) and they are all bent and mishapen. Below are pics of the green ones...I can send them back too and just be out shipping, but I am afraid that the AA ones won't hold up to my expectations either and I will be stuck with a lot more due to her min. order requirements and no returns. WHat do you girls think? Should I just keep them? (sorry for the crappy somewhat blurry pics)
  10. I ordered my dress from bestbridalprices.com...I had tried it on in 2 different bridal salons in ivory so I knew what size I needed. It was the same price on bestbridalprices.com, until one day they had one sample dress in my size and white for half off. I took it as a sign and ordered, but before ordering I called to make sure it would arrive in like new condition and they said it would and it probably was never even tried on. Well, I got it in one week and it had about six very small red spots on it and had makeup on the inside, and a stitch missing from the rouching on the chest. They had me send it back and they promised it would arrive back perfect. I received it 2 weeks later and it was perfectly clean, but had one stitch still missing from the rouching (a normal person wouldn't notice but I was being anal). I wrote them an email just letting them know with no intention of returning the dress again, but received no response. In the end, I would do it all over again...the hassle to me was definitely worth the savings! I say go for it! I would definitely go to a store if you can just to get an idea of DB's sizing, they had the strangest sizing out of all the places I went. For instance, in almost all designer dresses I needed an 8, but I needed a 2 in DB dresses (I am a street size 6). All the DB dresses ran really big in my opinion.
  11. Congratulations!...I am sure it meant the world to your father!
  12. We aren't planning on havings bouts either. The guys shirts are pretty casual (cubaveras) and they don't have pockets...I just think it might look funny. But we are mainly not having them b/c FI doesn't want one. I don't think you need them at all...go with what you like!
  13. I have used both CLinique Superfit and Mac Studio Fix compact. I like the coverage of Superfit, but I have very oily skin and it just adds to it. I love the Mac Studio Fix compact, it is the first thing ever that I have come across that really controls the shine. However, I plan to splurge on Laura Mercier for the wedding, b/c of all the great reviews. There is a whole thread about it somewhere. Good Luck!
  14. I don't know how I missed this thread, but your pics are great!! I love your dress, but I may be biased b/c I have the same one. It looked great on you! We haven't decided yet on the TTD, but I was wondering how your dress held up and cleaned up afterwards?? Thanks!
  15. I actually saw the cd labels at the dollar tree, but I forgot to look to see how many per package (sorry).
  16. Thanks girls! I think we will skip the champagne toast, now I just need to decide on the sand ceremony. Although the thought of more stuff to drag around makes me think twice. I just hope the band will be entertaining enough during pics, since we won't be having any food or cocktails.
  17. This reminds me that I have been a slacker and need to post this kind of cruise info on our website!
  18. Good question Andrea! I have been thinking about doing one as well, but if we do we will not send it out more than 60 days until the cruise, b/c we won't know our final guest list until then. Part of me doesn't want to bother with it, but I would like to let people know about the excursion we made reservations for as soon as possible so they can join in if they want. Let me know if you come across a good template!
