  1. Anyone have one they recommend? I usually don't wear lipstick or lip stain because it always fades or comes off right after I put it on. I wanted something that would leave my lips colored for the day and I can just reapply a shiny lipgloss over top.
  2. If you don't use black glue can you still put regular eyeliner over the clear/white glue? Or does it look weird?
  3. Actually there is a separate carnival game called "Carnival Games" (go figure). And then there's Mario Party which is a board game based that has a carnival theme. For those still looking for a Wii, I found mine and couple of friends off of iTrackr. Signing up is free and you can track your local stores inventory. I know that some stores hold their stock until Sunday morning when the circulars start. I also thought Big Brain Academy is kinda fun too. I have Mario Galaxy which I literally played once, but it makes me motion sick. I love all the traditional Mario games and it aches me that I can't play the new one. If anyone is interested in it, PM me, I've been meaning to sell it on ebay and never got around to it.
  4. I like the Mario and Sonic Olympic games too. I am also a fan of Mario Party, kind of a kiddie game, but its based on a board game set up where you roll the dice and then play mini games against other players...its a great 4 person game.
  5. I went to Office Depot today to get my travel sized stuff, they have a $10 off $25 coupon, here: http://f.chtah.com/i/48/1237020949/2...fficedepot.com You may need to sign up for the Worklife rewards program but its free to sign up. I got Pepcid Complete - 25 packets for $13, Advil - 40 packets (2 each inside) - $13, and Purell hand sanitizer towlettes - 100 ct f- $6. Total with coupon was $22.
  6. First off, I agree you look fab! And congrats on the 65 lbs, you should be very proud of your accomplishment. Second, you should be glad your not loosing your boobs! Your waist looks amazing! If you are really concerned about your arms, do some toning over the next couple month. Or if you are super concerned, get a full elbow length veil to cover the top part of your arms during the formal pictures.
  7. Thank you so much for the review, it was long but I'm glad you were that detailed. I'm also using Berman, so I'm glad to hear that if I have issues I can turn to them. They've been amazing so far. Do you think the tiki torches were worth it at Tucanes? Were they around the area of the reception or to the path leading up to it?
  8. I did a search and could one find two old posts more about tanning beds and which salons to go to than ones about lotions. I've tanned 2x before, in the high pressure stand up booths, and wanted to get a good base before Mexico. I have some white spots from new skin after scarring (dog bite) on my arm that I want to tan out too. I know they always recommend lotions or bronzers at the place, but its so expensive. Does anyone have an recommendations on what brands are good to use or internet sites they like to buy from? Thanks!!
  9. We're doing the cocktail party the day before and then the private BBQ for the reception. We're just going to have people meet up at one of the bars in between the ceremony and reception or go back to their room if they want to relax there. Does anyone know how the BBQ works? Is it set up like a buffet? Do you get your meat right from the guy that mans the grill?
  10. Stupid question, do you still put mascara on if you were to use the MAC lashes?
  11. This is what I threw together for different ceremony options and what our resort gave us: Gathering Words We are gathered here today to join Jack and Melanie in marriage. It is fitting and appropriate that you, the families and friends of Jack and Melanie be here to witness and to participate in their wedding, for the ideals, the understanding, and the mutual respect which they bring to their marriage have their roots in the love, friendship, and guidance you have given them. Marriage makes us aware of the changes wrought by time, but the new relationship will continue to draw much of its beauty and meaning from the intimate associations of the past. It is one of life’s richest surprises when the accidental meeting of two life paths leads them to proceed along the common path of husband and wife, and it is one of life’s finest experiences when a casual relationship grows into a permanent bond of love. The meeting and this growth bring us together today. Address JACK and MELANIE, you are about to enter a union which is most sacred and most serious, requiring of those enter into it a complete and unreserved giving of self. It will bind you together for life in a relationship so close and so intimate that it will profoundly affect your whole future. That future, with its hopes and disappointments, its pains and pleasures, its joys and sorrows, is hidden from your eyes. Love cannot live in itself, it must be nurtured with a mutual and ultimate sharing, a giving and taking. Expression of Intent MELANIE, do you take this man to be your wedded husband, to have and to hold from this day forward; for better or worse; for richer, for poorer; in sickness and in health, to love and cherish, til death due us part. I do. JACK, do you take this man to be your wedded wife, to have and to hold from this day forward; for better or worse; for richer, for poorer; in sickness and in health, to love and cherish, til death due us part. I do. Exchange of Vows From this day forward I choose you, JACK, to be my husband, to live with you and laugh with you, to be joy to your heart and food to your soul, to bring out the best in you always, and, for you, to be the most that I can. From this day forward I choose you, MELANIE, to be my wife, to live with you and laugh with you, to be joy to your heart and food to your soul, to bring out the best in you always, and, for you, to be the most that I can. Presentation and Exchange of Rings Jack, as a sign of my love for you And my desire to share My whole life’s journey with you, I give you this ring with the pledge That I shall cherish and care for you With all my heart and soul From this day forward. Melanie, as a sign of my love for you And my desire to share My whole life’s journey with you, I give you this ring with the pledge That I shall cherish and care for you With all my heart and soul From this day forward. Sand Ceremony Jack and Melanie may your love always be as constant as the never-ending waves, flowing endlessly from the depths of the sea. Just as the waters touch and nourish the many shores of the earth, may your love be a moving sea between the shores of your souls. Just as there will never be a morning without the ocean’s flow, there will never be a day without your love for each other. You have just sealed your relationship by the giving and receiving of rings. This beautiful union is symbolized through the combining of these two individual jars of sand. The first jar represents you, MELANIE, in all that you were, all that you are, and all that you will ever be, and the other jar represents you, JACK in all that you were, all that you are and all that you will ever be. Each one holds its own unique beauty, strength, and character. They can stand on their own and be whole, without need of anything else. However when these two are blended together they create an entirely new and extraordinarily more intricate entity. Each grain of sand brings to the mixture a lasting beauty that forever enriches the combination. When you pour the sand into this common container, it symbolizes the union of your two lives. Just as these grains of sand can never be separated and poured again into the individual containers, so will your marriage be a molding of two individual personalities, bonded together forming one heart, one love. The life that each of you experienced now, individually, will hereafter be inseparably united, for the two shall become one.
  12. We went to I Gorman in DC. They have a great selection of really interesting and unique pieces. This pic isn't great cause it doesn't have too much light, but its palladium sort of hammered with an offset row of uncut diamonds.
  13. We got Palladium for his band too. What store did you go to in DC melglnh2o?
  14. I got mine here since it was one of the few places I found with big wedge heels. White and Ivory Bridal Flip Flops -- Perfect for Your Reception

  16. I think I'm going to scale back the exotic gazebo package and just get two hanging corsages and the wooden walkway with a runner in a color I choose instead of using their red runner and the rose petals. My net cost should be the same. I think I'll have different playlists for eating and for dancing, so if you eat, dance, eat, dance you can just switch back and forth?
  17. We're using the ipod. I've been keeping a list of songs I need to get to put on my ipod, a set for eating dinner, our song, and then songs to dance too. I figured by the time you'd do your must play list and explain to the DJ what you want, you can just do it yourself. I'm going to try to enlist a friend to making sure good music is playing.
  18. I heard that they have the portable wooden walkway available, however its 100 usd, which includes a jute runner in any color you prefer. Ugh, I really wanted this walkway but I don't want to pay $100 for the 30 seconds it takes me to walk down and then back on it.
  19. Congrats on the dress! Gorgeous! I am one of the few that says go with the size 12. I've always heard its easier to take than let out. And if you don't want your girls on display, I think its easier for a seamstress to tighten a dress along the the back than it is for them to custom make fabric around your boobs. You never know how that could turn out or potentially take away from the dresses design, nor would you want any of that to fall off or rip if its done poorly. Of course in my area there are two well known seamstresses that will never charge more than $180 to do all alterations on a dress including hem and bustle. So I'd be more inclined to get the bigger size and take it somewhere like that.
  20. We stayed here for a vacation too. The resort is amazing and the breakfast was awesome too! We liked the restaurants there the most, even better than the Beachhouse. On a side note - I would not recommend doing the tubing adventure on the island.
  21. I take it at the gym up here. Its such a fun workout, but let me tell you will sweat, alot. I hate going to work out too and its the only reason I actually make it to the gym. I go to a class taught by two Brazilian sisters and I could only wish I could shake my ass like them. Its kinda like a latin dance/hip-hop dance aerobics class. I just wear normal gym clothes. Usually they have new songs every few weeks so you don't have to worry about when you start or stop. It'll take you a class or two to get the basics down, so just start in the back until you feel comfortable.
  22. I think we're leaning on doing it after the destination wedding. Part of me wants to do it before so I can come back and in the couple of days I took off after the wedding, go and get my new license and all the paperwork. But I don't want to do any vows before the ones in Mexico, I want them to feel like the real ones. So I figured if we waited til after, it really will seems like just paperwork. Plus its one less thing I need to do in the days leading up.
  23. My dad is going to wear the same white shirt as the groomsmen but just with regular khakis. I liked the look of the Mexican wedding shirts, but not so much four pockets. I found these Guayamisa shirts, that have "the look and comfort of a Guayabera with the feel and design of a dressy shirt." better view of the shirt in blue
  24. I feel your pain. Um, we haven't started looking for suits (this weekend's plans) I just sent out my invites last week. And I haven't even started my programs, menu, or welcome letters. So don't feel bad!!
