  1. What about the islands off of Seattle? I think there are a couple of them, maybe Whidbey is the most popular? I think you can stay at a cute B&B for around $100/night. They could even drive up to Vancouver or something too?
  2. I second Valeria. She's great to work with. I'm also a May bride, but haven't been down there during that time. Give me a few more months and then I can tell you.
  3. I use the Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation. It really does go on light and its not very matte nor very shiny. I'd recommend using a foundation brush. It gives great coverage without feeling cakey or heavy. I also second the Dior Show mascara. I normally don't use the waterproof version but plan on getting that for the wedding. I like it better than Clinque, Estee and Lancome personally. I believe GA also has a hydra-glow foundation with spf. And a fluid sheer foundation, which goes on even lighter. Its more expensive and not too many stores sell it but lasts forever.
  4. Maybe you should go try on at a regular store before going there so you have an idea of what you're looking for? I live in Tysons. But I already have a dress and my weddings in May. Although part of me wants to go later just to see and see if I can find a dirt cheap 2nd dress for TTD.
  5. I got a knife edge wedding pave band by Bez Ambar. He does a lot of work with pave stuff. Here is a page with some of his styles. Narrow Bands
  6. If its a charitable donation I don't see any issue with putting it on your invites. You could also send out a newsletter type thing before the wedding and mention that if anyone was planning giving a gift that you prefer them to donate.
  7. I know that Bre got married at Faisanes, on the other end, but said " For anyone looking for a walkway, we did the red carpet under a double-wide aisle runner and I was able to stand in 3" heels. ". I heard they might have a portable walkway soon too. I'm planning on bringing my heels which are 4 1/4 stilletos but also have 3 1/2 wedge flip flops.
  8. Mustique is also a great island, only one real hotel, the Cotton House, and the rest are villas which a lot of them you can rent. Its down in the St. Vincent & Grenadine islands. A lot of famous people own villas there like Tommy Hilfiger, Bryan Adams, I think Mick Jagger and some fashion designers. We liked it cause its not touristy at all. You drive around the island on rented "mules" or golf carts. We're going to Anguilla for our honeymoon, which is said to have 33 white sand beaches.
  9. I bought the flowers at Michaels in the scrapbook section. I had to buy the brads separately though, so you can go with other colors or accents. I think the bag of 25 was $3? Its the one thing my fiancee picked out! I'll post the ticket jacket tempate tonight too but I just based mine on one from the board.
  10. Due to last minute invites, I did an online RSVP but during my research they do have slimline envelopes you can order online that are 3 7/8 by 8 7/8 for the RSVP and then put that in a #10 size envelope.
  11. I am mailing them out today, I know I only have two months left. My initial graphic designer never got around to making my invites, so I had to do these last minute! Yes, I did print them at home. I'll post the template but its saved to my home PC, I'll post it later.
  12. I am half-way done with assembling my invites, but took pics of the ones that were done. Thanks so much to all the brides that posted their templates and information, I couldn't of done with out you. I used colored staples to hold down the flap in the ticket jacket. And clear jeweled brads with flowers to attach all the sheets of the boarding passes. Some of my tips for assembling: -I used a three sided ruler to fold the crease in the ticket jackets, pressing down the sheet on the tip of the ruler -When using the corner cutter, to save my thumb, I put down a magazine on my kitchen table and pressed the corners using my palm instead. -I used those curved cuticle scissors to cut the quarter circle on the perforated piece, it almost perfectly fits that angle
  13. I'm there from May 7-14th. I think I might be only overlapping one day with someone? Have you all sent out your invitations already? I haven't even finished mine but am going to try to this weekend and get them out asap.
  14. Great pics! Thanks for sharing! You two look fabulous too!
  15. I am having a hard time getting a straight answer to this. If you are having or had a private dinner reception can you choose more than one food option from their list? Or does everyone have to eat the same meal? Can I pick two appetizers, two soups, etc?
  16. Ok, I finished my first bag and then switched to an easy flower where I am just outlining it. Now I can do one bag every two nights of watching tv. Maybe after the writer's strike is over I can do one bag per night. Here is the first one that took forever: Then the new design: Closeup: Oh and as you can see the outline of the iron transfer, you really don't have to use the iron too long otherwise the backing turns kinda brown on the bag. My newer ones turned out much better.
  17. We should have a BDW cocktail hour! Sorry to divert from the original post but Shannon, for the dessert reception are you getting sit down tables and chairs since it only comes with standing tables? I don't want my guests not having a place to sit for that long. I'm there from 5/7 to 5/14.
  18. I don't have any advice either but wanted to chime in since I'm another May EDR bride. Right now I have a similar schedule with 5 pm at Gazebo 55, which I chose since its at the end of the resort and I believe semi- out of the way. But on the same side as Tucanes/Fuentes area versus the casitas section. I was also gonna send ppl to a bar, maybe the Martini one before our dinner at 6:30 too. I wanted the BBQ deluxe but I don't think I'm going to have 30 ppl.
  19. Thanks for sharing! You looked beautiful and your dress is awesome, I love the back of it! The parasol pics are so cute too. Did you get a package for Gazebo 55 to be decorated? Did you make it down that aisle runner over the sand in heels?
  20. I've started a bag and its taking me forever. I am doing this red hibiscus flower and after three nights I finished one petal. I'll try to post pics later. I've been trying to do a back stitch and loop through the last bead to keep it looking seemless...otherwise it kept looking messy.
  21. Thank you so much for sharing. The pictures are just amazing!! And you look absolutely beautiful. I am so excited now!
  22. We're actually getting married in the states legally but doing the ceremony at EDR. We don't want a particularly religious ceremony but since the legal officiant isn't presiding, I guess we only have a religious officiant. EDR Religous Sermon -.doc
  23. Oh wait, I receive a document with the honeymoon breakfast and dinner options. And the religious sermon document.
  24. I received it from Valeria. Besides this I only have that document with all the food pricing and options.
