  1. Hey guys- I know there are quite a few starfish brides on the site- and I love that idea -but I've always been quite the dolphin lover (evidence is the 18 year-old-freshman-in-college decision to have a little dolphin tatoo on my back! ). I found some cute place card holders that are just a $1.50 each, and a cute website for affordable place cards.....I thought it would be a cheap way to help with the dinner centerpieces/decorations... Here is website for placecards---- haven't actually ordered any yet, though- waiting on final RSVPs to come in... place cards Here is website for dolphin place card holders... 2. Alright-- if that is your idea of "lame" - I'm not posting any of my stuff on this forum!! j/k-- they look great!
  3. Thanks everyone! I tried to get close up pictures of the wording but my camera's flash wasn't cooperating- the cream background paper is "shimmery" -so that might have been the problem.... The name of the company is "The Green Kangaroo" -- they are located near me in Cary, NC- but I actually did everything online-they have been great-- they have such creative ideas!! their website is Unique Wedding Invitations and Stationery by The Green Kangaroo Here is the wording I used... "Because you have shared in our lives by your friendship and love, we Shannon Walker Sparks and Vincent Lawrence Watkins invite you to join the celebration as we exchange marriage vows on Friday, the sixteenth of May two thousand and eight at four o'clock in the afternoon El Dorado Royale Riviera Maya, Mexic The quote at the bottom is, "The only dream that mattered has come true, in this life I was loved by you."
  4. WELCOME!!! I'm getting married 6 days after you! :) Congrats!!
  5. Sending out invitations this weekend- They turned out really well- super excited!! On the back of the "compass" is the travel/booking information.... Here they are!
  6. I'm using cancun studios for my EDR wedding in May..... I saw Anny's photos and they were really beautiful-- cancun studios just fits our budget! - Also, EDR has a completely retarded $500 outside photographer fee (sure you've seen threads about this on the forum). Cancun Studios is paying half the fee (ie they deducted $250 from my package) -and they told me to feel free to tell other potential brides... They have been very responsive so far--- guess I can't say more until May
  7. Great idea!!! Not certain how many guests will come- but am thinking that if we keep to it 20-25-I might steal your idea! One of my main stresses is how to get all of this guest gift bag stuff down to mexico-- I can "streamline" the bag- and do the gift certificate-- sounds so much easier!! Thanks!
  8. Do they check ids? If your cousin was coming with other members of your family- how would they know how old she is?!?! I have no idea how that works....sorry I can't be more help!

  12. This is a great thread! Thanks! I'm doing a civil ceremony at EDR- but this still definitely helps! Thanks!
  13. I totally understand- I wanted red tulips and then found out tulips are super expensive in the RM.. I ended up with an almost red calla lilly-(kinda between hot pink and red) and then am using roses....Good Luck!
  14. Hey! Welcome to Forum!! I'm getting married at EDR May 16, 2008- I wouldn't worry about it being "too crowded" -from what I hear- its spacious. As for the weather- I wouldn't sweat it-- it could rain any day or not rain any day- I'd just go with what date works best for you and your FI. There are 2 EDR brides that are getting married in 10 days! so in the next few weeks, I'm sure we'll have lots of info from them...Happy Planning!
  15. hey! Yep, am doing a civil ceremony-- did scan and email my CC info for deposit.. and we are having approx 20-25 people (the RSVP date on the invitation is Feb 29th- so won't know for sure until then)... From what I've gathered- not sure though -they come to your room to administer the blood test..
  16. I like the big "R"s--I vote for either #1 or #4... They all look great though!

The prices are outrageous. There is one bottle of red wine on the list that we drink frequently at home for $9. We typically pay around $36 in a restaurant. EDR wants $80 a bottle! Hopefully I won't run into any hidden charges when we are down there next week. See you at the pool Shea!! Hey Bre- so you can get glasses of champagne at the bars on the resort- but not served at the private events?! so wine by the glass is included in the all-inclusive package- just not by bottle- or is wine not included in guests' AI package at all??! Lordy Bre-- yours came so fast!!! know you and Shea both are super excited!! YAH!!

  19. This might be general information---and everyone already knows.. but I wasn't aware there was a $90 fee for translation of wedding documents.....
  20. OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have more to do than I thought --and to think originally, I thought a DW would be super uncomplicated- just show up!! Lizz- yah!! we have the same wedding date!!! :) I'm going to have to wait and make my list when I get home from work and can do it with a glass (or bottle!!) of wine!! Thanks for this, though girls!! This will definitely get me moving and help get organized!!
