  1. Congrats!!!! So glad to hear that everything went so well. The pics look beautiful.

As much as the sashes are, I have way too many things to be bringing so I'll have to bit the bullet or rent them in JA.
  3. Have a wonderful time and I'll pray that the weather is perfect for your special day.
  4. Nettupoob11 what do you mean by using a back drop, like putting tool (sp??) on the gazebo?
  5. Thanks very much for the info. I'm also going with Sunquest.
  6. The seclusion issue is a huge factor for me. But more importantly I need to be in heels. My girls and my mother are all heels girls too. I'm not sure why they wouldn't have had a different backdrop but the gazebo is beautiful.
  7. What time was your ceremony? If it was before the 4pm slot, did you find the break in between the ceremony and the start of the reception really long? Thx
  8. Congratulations! You look beautiful and the flowers are so nice. Thanks for writing the review
  9. I'm doing table runners too so that's why I needed to know the dimensions. I think the white table cloths are short so they don't hang to the floor. I don't really like that so I'm going to tape two together and use the runner to hide it. Hopefully that works.
  10. Chandlyn told me that the dimensions are 99 x 33 inches for an 8 person table and 66 x 33 for a 6 person table. She also told me that they provide the ticky torches are no additional cost. I am having about 80 - 90 people and I was thinking 10 to a table maybe be too few tables so I'm trying to spread it out and have 6 to 8/ table. Hope that helps!
  11. I can't take all this drama!!!!! Don't these people realize that we are under enuf stress as it is and this kinda crap in not only unnecessary but insensitive. I keep going back and forth as to what to do. I just don't want any hassle on my wedding day.
  12. Congratulations and welcome back!! Who do you hire to take your pics? Was the video done through the RIU, if not who did you hire? Can't wait to see the pics??
  13. Yes, I was going to say a petition. I'm sure we could do it electronically and send it to both the HO and even to Chandlyn.
  14. I wouldn't tell them anything. Especially because its a family member and not a "professional". I would only let Michael know that his services are not required. There is no way that they could tell a guest that has paid to be at the hotel that they can't take pics of the wedding that they are attending. If I could afford to pay for a photographer to stay at the hotel, then I wouldn't be as concerned. But I think if they're just coming to the hotel for the day to take pics, is where there could be more of an issue.
  15. Every pic I've seen of past brides they have all look truly amazing. But, we all have our personal vision, and when I pay for a service, I expect that I will have that vision fulfilled. I agree that we all should write a letter to the HO expressing our extreme frustration and disappointment in this policy. This may not help the '08 brides but may make a difference to the '09 brides and beyond. **JUSTUSTWO** May I ask which photographer you are using?
  16. Ok ladies, I realize that this topic has pretty much been exhausted, but I'm still nowhere closer to making a decision if I will, a) use Michael or an outside photographer. Pls tell me what you plan on doing (have done) and which photography company (web site/email address) if it's not Michael. Thanks for any help. I am on such a limited budget (as most of us are) but the pics are so important.
  17. $80 is a daily rate. I'm not sure if they give it to you for $50 on your wedding day, as you have to provide them with the names of the attendees. But she told me it's $50 for the day ending at 2am. She's never quoted me $80 and I actually sent her an email specifically asking that question. Not only do we have to pay for the Jamaicans living there, but we have to pay hotel stay for those that live in Kingston and can't drive back that night. It's not too many, but still an added cost.
  18. I was told that the names (and payment) of the attendees coming onto the resort have to be given beforehand at a cost of $50. If their names are not given then its $80 and they would pay when they get there. This price is for a 2am cut off.
  19. I can't believe she didn't even attempt to rectify the situation. So glad that everything still worked out so beautifully. I guess I should re-confirm my order with her?!?!!?
  20. Congratulations! Everything looked amazing. May I ask what issues you had with Angel, as I have also ordered my flowers with her.
  21. First of all, congratulations! Your pics are amazing, you look so beautiful and really happy. Okay so a couple of questions: 1. was the reception set up right on the beach 2. I heard that getting to the Seagrapes you have to go down alot of steps, is that true? I have quite a few older people and concerned about them. 3. I see that you had a 2pm wedding (mine too). Did you find the wait time between the ceremony and the reception noticeably long?? I'm feeling more comfortable about using Michael, the photographer now that I've seen you pics....thx!
  22. I'm flying Sky Service too and I think it's pretty expensive for extra weight. I'll just going on a prayer that they'll understand that it's for my wedding and hopefully charge me less or nothing at all. I think you'll be going before me, so you can let me know how it goes. lol
  23. I'm going to be bringing my centre pieces, shells, tealights, flower pedals and I'm sure there's more but can't remember right now. I had the same thought as you, that I didn't want to have an idea of what I want the ceremony/reception to look like and not be able to produce it. Thankfully, I have a number of family members who are willing to carry some of the stuff down.
  24. Congratulations! So glad to hear you had such an amazing time and that you loved the resort. Can't wait to see the pics.
