  1. My dad really loves classical music. The one song we both love to play (and sing) over and over is "Time to say goodbye". We love to go for drives and just blast that song and sing our hearts out. While the lyrics aren't too appropriate for a wedding--cuz it's about saying goodbye-- it's our favorite song. I'm thinking of playing the Italian version to take the focus off of the lyrics.
  2. Jamy, I do agree with your points and in my heart and hope to cater to my man once I'm his wife. (With the exception of "his topics of conversation being more important than mine" and "you have no right to question him".) But, I have to say that for now, I am SOOOOO spoiled! If we're both all curled up and comfortable on the couch and I ask him to bring me a cup of water, he will get up and bring it to me. I think this sweet part of him is a large reason why I love him so much, because he's such a big, tough guy (He's such a caveman!) who is willing to cater to me in countless ways. We tease each other because I rarely cook for him, (We don't live together yet.) but he cooks for me all the time. I do plan to cook once we're married! I think it would blow his mind if I started being "more domestic". Teehee!!
  3. Ok, when you pick yourself off the floor from laughing, be sure to check out Tami's post on the sweetness of married life--a more realistic picture for 2008.
  4. You could also try a stamp... If you can find a fairly thin one. Rubber Stamp Designs and more inspiring wedding dresses, bouquets, cakes, favors, and advice on marthastewart.com (LOVE the little stickers though!!)
  5. Hey Carly! I just sent my payment in too! You can add me to your "paid" list!
  6. Yeah, you should. That's the only way you're going to be able to manipulate the files. Good luck!
  7. Welcome to the forum! I'm happy to collaborate!! Happy planning!
  8. Congrats and to the forum! Happy planning!
  9. Just had my 1st fitting last weekend. Alterations for me cost $50 for taking in the sides, $35 for the bustle. (At David's Bridal) Still shopping for my viel!! AHHHH!!
  10. I played it slick with mine. On the STD (I did boarding passes), I just noted that those who planned to participate in the group rates for air and resort should make their deposits by Nov. 1. (Wedding in May). Most people went to our wedding website and did just that. To this day, out of 45 guests attending I only have RSVPs for about 8 people. Everyone else just made their deposit payments online or mailed me a check.
  11. Oh, and I did consider just making a reservation at one of the restaurants, but I'm having about 45 guests and decided not to take the chance since it seems that it takes a while to be seated at most of the restaurants. I didn't want to have that gamble with so many people.
  12. Hi, I am getting married at Sandals and I think that regardless of the location, the details are the same so I am happy to share the information I have with you to help you firm up your decision. Feel free to PM me anytime. I finally decided to have my reception offsite because I found that SGOR wasn't very accomodating to my needs. I had no problem paying extra for the reception, but if I'm going to pay $50 a person for a sit-down reception, I want it to last longer than 2 hours and I wanted more flexibility with the menu. (There is just one set menu that is not customizable.) I didn't want to spend the $50 on a menu I hated, so I considered doing the buffet reception with hot and cold h'ors for $25 pp, but then the reception would only last an hour! To extend the reception to 2 hors increased the price to $50 pp! Needless to say, I'm having my reception at Evitas restaurant in downtown Ocho Rios for $45 pp with a better food selection, custom drinks made just for FI and MI, a reggae band and the party will last 3 hours! Good luck with your decisions. I'm happy to send you the price sheets, menu lists, etc. for Sandals receptions though.

The guests would have to get their own transportation between the two resorts.) Just something to keep in mind.
  15. I'm having my wedding at Sandals Grande Ocho Rios and I have had no problems with bringing my guests who are not "couples". Granted, I don't have a lot of people who fall into this category, but those who do haven't seemed to mind. The biggest issue I've found is that because it's a "couples" resort, there are king-size beds only throughout the resort--which could be tricky with guests who aren't a "couple" So far, i have 40 guests coming.
  16. Ok, I totally feel you on this issue, but there may be hope. I experienced the same thing when I tried on my dress, but it was actually due to the type of bra I had on under the gown. Tried on a different type of bra and the problem was completely eliminated. My back was completely smooth. I'd check first with your undergarments. Evidently, they make a big difference!

  18. Or will they just cut off her head and save it for their first anniversary... Ewwwww!!!

  20. Ours is a combo. We're staying a total of 11 days with 4 days making up out wedding weekend. We decided to stay at the same resort though.
  21. I saw this and was kinda grossed out... Wonder which part they'll cut first? I think I'd have a complex about my guests "eating" me... Here are some more crazy photos I got out of an email. The head looks like its about to fall over!

My brother was recently in Jamaica for wedding at Sandals Negril and he stayed at beaches because he wasn't a "couple" and he loved it and was so excited he was going to get to go back. It's stressful trying to decide isn't it? ~Angie Hi, I'm getting married at Sandals Ocho Rios. I just wanted to let you know that I found out even though Sandals and Beaches are sister resorts, the don't do transfers between the two, so you'd have to make your own transfer arrangements to get your guests back and forth between the two resorts. Just something to keep in mind... (You'd think they would offer this since the resorts are owned by the same company, but they don't.)
