  1. This the dream vacuum I want. We were close to buying it a couple weeks ago but held off a couple more paycheques. I cannot wait to get this!!! Glad to hear it's well worth the price Kayte. 2. If your WC has some for you to use then for sure go for it. Save your money and use it elsewhere No one wanted my fans I brought them home with some other stuff. I had sent them out to another bride on here but they got lost in the mail! Boo!
  3. She had a few small white ones to put in my hair, but my "big" flower I had paid for from our wedding planners who arranged all the flowers.
  4. We have a cd burned with all the pro pics but haven't uploaded them to our site yet. I have a few on facebook though if you want to check them out
  5. Haha Deb.. no problem I didn't have a practice run with Shelly. I knew I wanted a messy up-do type of hair style and she pretty much knew how to do it from my description. She also brings quite a few hair magazines with her for you to look through so if you see something you want just point it out.. or bring a pic with you. If you are having a fairly specific elaborate hair style you may want to a practice run, but for me I was pretty casual about my hair. The guys at Aloha Maui Vans were great No complaints whatsoever!
  6. We use balls at home in front of the compy and they work great. I've been thinking about getting one for the office as well. I didn't know they made a chair one! I will have to check it out
  7. I didn't order parasols. I brought 12 raffia fans with me in our wedding colours and not one person used them! We got married around 4:30pm in Wailea right on the beach and it was windy enough that no one felt super hot. In fact, I didn't really feel warm in my dress at all that I can remember. However this was november, maybe temps are slightly higher in october? I also remember there was slight cloud cover that day too which helped the temp a bit.
  8. http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t31226 Here is my planning thread.. the pics are gone for some reason but I have listed everything I put in the bags as well as other planning stuff
  9. I have to find my planning thread which lists everything. 10. Do you mean Seawatch? That is where we had our reception and the food was excellent! Can't recommend it enough You could always do a luau reception dinner instead if you wanted.. Old Lahaina Luau and Feast at Lele in Lahaina were really good too
  11. We got married on Maui. There was plenty to do there: snorkeling, surfing, really nice beaches for swimming etc plus it's not overcrowded like Oahu is. Hubby STILL talks about going back there six months after the wedding and how he misses it there so much. There are quite a few nice restaurants there and some good luau choices as well.. good luck planning!
  12. Awww. thanks ladies! I did have a good day Hubby is sick with a stomach flu so he didn't get to come play laser tag or go out to eat afterwards but we still had fun without him. And he got me some fabulous presents ( a coat I wanted and a camera lens and filters)... he's the best hubby ever!
  13. Good to hear everything was perfect for you Jac! Can't wait to see the pics and congrats!!
  14. Waaa... I want to go soo bad. Maybe I can swing it next year! Haunted night tours?? Boat cruise on Mississippi River?? Plantation homes?? French Quarter?? Everything sounds so amazing. LadyP make sure you tell us what hotel you are staying at and all the stuff you plan to do. Hopefully it's a fantastic trip for you and your man
  15. OMG I'm so jealous. I've wanted to go to New Orleans forever! Sorry I can't be more help except for sitting here jealously.. heh! I know there are a couple girls from there on here so I'm sure they will have good suggestions
  16. Happy Birthday Betsy.. have a fabulous day
  17. We did a tour to Molokini but I can't remember the name of them! Grrr.. once I find/remember it I will post up. Most of them are pretty comparable I think. All the ones we looked at offered free drinks/lunch etc and the one we went on also had a snuba option which I did and was totally fun!
  18. I'm looking forward to next weeks' episode as well! Backtracking to Lily and Rufus's past will make an interesting episode I think
  19. The Big Island is where the active volcano is.. if you are wanting some fabulous shots you could totally do a day trip there I think. Not sure how much ferries are though. I believe you can get inter-island flights with Hawaiian airlines for about 50 bucks or so. Oahu is the busiest and most touristy of the islands. In fact, alot of people have said Maui is getting to be this way too but I found Maui alot more enjoyable than Oahu. The north shore was definitely more of a hawaiian feel on Oahu so I'm glad you are staying over there. I've heard people rave about Kauai and Big Island (we didn't make it to either but will next time for sure). Not as busy.. more of a tropical feel I guess?
  20. How long are you going for Morgan? I would highly suggest going to another island if you have the time. When my friends were in Honolulu I know they went to the pineapple plantation and saw a luau etc.. the usual touristy things.
  21. I agree with BachataBride. She's more than welcome to go on vacation with your dad but she is NOT invited to any sort of wedding event. PERIOD. I would make sure your father clearly understands that.
  22. Oh I should also add, we bought a Hawaii Entertainment Book for the coupons and definitely got our moneys' worth out of it. There are lots of coupons for everything at the airport etc which comes in handy. And, we stocked up at Costco for cereal and water etc etc. If someone has a Costco card I highly recommend going there to get bulk stuff that could be shared between everyone.
