Should I push it earlier?? **nervous!!** Dear Stelladiver, The issue wasn't with the hotel nor the wedding coordinator. The delayed of the wedding I officiated was because the bride ripped her dress and they had to saw it from the zipper I guess it was. It took 40 minutes!!!!!! Sarai Flores the wedding coordinator is always on time and the staff at the hotel was very efficient too. The reason why I pointed out about the time is because at the Casa Dorada Beach you won't be able to see the actual sunset as the sun sets behind the hotel. That's why your wedding must be on time or else your pictures will be a bit dark. Hopefully this will ease your mind Best to you.
  3. Dj Mijares banned from Dreams? When I read this post I couldn't believe it... If such a great vendor like Dj Mijares is banned from a place... Then we vendors are DOOMED! I personally know Dj Mijares and besides being a very talented musician and a very professional businessman, he is a great human being. See, I like to talk to all vendors about their most rewarding experiences as well as their most embarrassing experiences in weddings. It is a great way to know people. When you talk to someone that you are not trying to hire, people usually confess their "darkest secrets" right? Well, talking to Dj Mijares, He did confess to me that on his early days, a loose cable on the ground was the reason for some one at the party to unplug the juice from the wall and the music just stopped in the middle of the event at a private house. Obviously he felt very embarrased about it, embarrassed enough not to charge for his services given for the whole night. I just wanted to bring this up so you can see the quality of this person. It wasn't his fault the cable was loose because he was told that he couldn't use adhesive tape to the floor or he'll damage it. And even though he didn't charge a dime for his gig, he stood there for the time that was originally hired. I've seen Dj Mijares at work many times, and I am delighted when I see him at my weddings because I know everything is going to be just perfect. As the matter of fact, he was very happy and very proud of his new equipment on our last wedding together (Jan. 24, 2009) at Casa Dorada. I would like to vouch for Dj Mijares and all the good vendors that I know, people like him make your wedding a very important matter in their lives as well. Some vendors see this as an opportunity to shine. Go with Dj Mijares! A good friend and an excellent person.

If you decide to book Jorge, rest assured that you wont be disappointed. Cheers Thank you for all your comments Mango, It is nice to hear from you. Take care now.
  5. Hello Tracylee, There is nothing negative about the Civil ceremony, the only thing is that indeed has a few requirements that you probably don't have in Canada. The blood tests are a must as well as the 4 working days prior to your wedding. If you don't want to go through any of these, you should consider getting legally married in Canada and have your symbolic ceremony in Cabo. I'd like to vouch for Jesus at Presidente InterContinental, I know he is a good wedding coordinator. If he doesn't return e-mails promptly, just give him a quick call. Sometimes that's all it takes. Nevertheless, hav fun planning your wedding and may your wedding be one of the best ever!
  6. This is one of the toughest questions.... Tomas is great and has a superb quality. Alberto has a cool personality and excellent shots, Mango productions is a serious company and all their photographers are very good. You should interview them all and make your final call. Good luck and have fun planning your wedding!

  8. Dear Connie, The sand is not hot at all during November, in fact it is very nice. But ultimately is your call on shoes or no shoes. Hilton does not provide a walkway, you must rent it from your florist. If you do want a walkway, ask for a coco-runner. It is sturdy and very firm. Have fun planning!!
  9. Dearest Ashlea and Jeff, Your wedding was absolutely beautiful! Congratulations once again. The best to you guys and your families always!
  10. Hello everyone, Just for the record, I officiated a very beautiful wedding yesterday (January 24, 2009) at Casa Dorada. Sarai Flores the wedding coordinator did a fantastic job with the setting and the beach at Casa Dorada was elegantly decorated. One good thing to keep in mind... If you can start your wedding on time, it will be great. The reason I say this is because we started our ceremony 40 minutes late! The light was a bit dimmed and I'm sure the photographs needed more flash than it should have. Nevertheless it was a great ceremony and the hotel is finished 100%. Parking is no longer a problem since they just opened an very big parking lot accross the street from Casa Dorada. Hopefully this information helps anyone planning to get married there
  11. Dear Sara, With all due respect to both resorts they cannot be compared. Dreams is a very fun resort that is very affordable for large groups and have the open environment for everyone you invite to your wedding. On the other hand, O&O Palmilla is a very elegant and exclusive resort that is quite pricey and is mainly oriented for couples and people who really want to relax. It is very different than any hotel you've ever stayed before. I am sure you will make the best pick.
  12. Hello Natashak, Your question is very good actually, many factors apply for this question... For example, you are getting married during the end of hurricane season in Cabo. If there is no wind which is more likely, then you only need around three bags of petals. But if is a bit windy then four bags will be best. See the more petals you have on your aisle, the heavier they get and they won't fly off that easily. But if you only have a few petals scattered around then they will fly off very easily. The Gazebo at the RIU Palace is very nice and your aisle will look very pretty with the petals. Enjoy your planning.
  13. Hello Leanne, Your question is very common and just as Kelly mentioned, you would make it as you want. In Cabo and anywhere else, the symbolic ceremony is the one that stands for memories, pictures, party and even for anniversary date in some cases. The legal ceremony however is a bit cold, but it is the one that makes your marriage valid. With all the responsibilities and obligations. Some states do require to bring two witnesses along, some don't and you need to get a license in advance. The legal wedding is as important as your symbolic ceremony. Some people wear their traditional wedding outfits. But ultimately it will be as you want it to be. Hopefully this information was helpful. Have a very beautiful day now.
  14. My dearest brides... This is the most common thing that happens between a bride who lives 1K miles away vs. the wedding coordinator (anywhere in the world) who is trying her best to get things done. Through time, I have realized that even if the wedding coordinator does have a blackberry she will become a robot! I've seen it happen many times, the bride or groom or anybody for that matter is trying to talk to her wedding coordinator during THEIR wedding day and the wedding coordinator is spacing out trying to read all the e-mails that come in her little "wonder phone". A good wedding coordinator WILL NOT reply right away during the day and will not reply on her blackberry during someone else's wedding. So ladies, don't expect a fast reply, give the courtesy e-mail ettiquette of 24 hours. Most coordinators in Cabo work during the morning at their office let's say from 9-1pm then they go and do the actual arrangements for the wedding of the day. You need to realize that Cabo is quite different from any place in the world. There are wedding coordinators who have a wedding each day of the week, there's some hotels that have up to 4 weddings per day. In Cabo, every day is a weekend day. Adriana from BBW made a really good point, get as many questions as you can in one e-mail and then you will get many answers at once. Happy planning to you all and enjoy the process... The reward is on your wedding day! Best always,

I already know where I want to get married - Sheraton Hacienda's little white chapel, and possibly reception at De Cortez? But haven't yet set an exact date, made any contacts, etc. Oh boy... Just wanted to re-introduce myself to the Cabo Forum and warn that you may see a lot more of me from now on! I remember reading somewhere that Sheraton's on-site coordinator is not that responsive or helpful? So I'm thinking of hiring a wedding coordinator to contact the site, as well as for planning and any wedding day help. We're expecting about 40-50 guests. If anyone reading this had their wedding at the Sheraton, or if you know anyone, I'd so very much appreciate your opinions. I don't want to spend unecessary money on a planner, but also want to save myself the stress and headache! How much do planners charge these days anyway? Ay, I have such a long way to go.............. Dear JS212, Congratulations!!!!! You will have a great time in your wedding I'm sure. There are many great vendors in this forum, take your time to select the best options for you. As mango said Addy is very good, I happened to work with her previously. Nothing but good comments. But then again, most vendors in this site are very reliable. Good planning to you and congratulations again.

I would appreciate any information or advise any future or past Cabo Azul brides may have. At this point I need all the help I can get. Hello Marise, Sergio and his staff are very efficient wedding coordinators, unfortunately he is out of town and that's why you haven't received any reply. I believe he is back on December 11th. Nevertheless, congratulations on your wedding! You will have a great wedding I'm sure.
