UGH! I am getting frustrated! We want to get married at one of the Iberostar resorts in Playa but they have not released the 2008 rates yet! August is almost here! I need to get STD's out, book the wedding, hire a photographer and all that fun stuff! Everyone else getting married around the same time I am are already on the ball. I have NOTHING done. Give me some ideas, ladies! Our only requirement is the Riveria Maya area. Help, por favor!

I just got back from seeing him...I don't know if he was just sleeping or is very lethargic. He was shivering still, so they had a towel on him and he was hiding his head under it. His temp is normal, so that's good....No vomiting since this morning and he has runny poo still but it looks a little better. They are going to try to give him some water tonight and see if he can hold it down. I hope he gets better soon...I miss him!!!

Just talked to the vet tech and he is doing worse. He was shivering, but his temp was normal. He hasn't thrown up since 5am, he still has diarrhea but it is thickening up a little. They are giving him oral medicine for the coccidia, so it's important that he not throw up. He also isn't up wagging his tail like yesterday. She said sometimes they get worse before they get better.... Visiting hours are from 2-4. I went yesterday at 2 but he was knocked out because of the pain medicine, so I am gonna go a little closer to 4 today and hopefully he will be a little more alert.

Nope....he is a Cocker Spaniel. We decided to wait until we got a house with a yard to get a Boxer. Cocker's are good indoor dogs. I am glad I saved him!

Thank you ladies. I feel like Debbie Downer! Yes, coccidia AND parvo! Poor baby boy! He had to have gotten it from the breeder...from what I read the coccidia has an incubation period of about 13 days. I am SO frustrated and sad for him.

He tested positive for Coccidia this evening. My heart is so sad....I feel so bad for the little baby boy. I hope his immune system is strong and that he is a big trooper! This is a definition of Coccidia (I had never heard of it): What are coccidia? Coccidia are small protozoans (one-celled organisms) that multiply in the intestinal tracts of dogs and cats, most commonly in puppies and kittens less than six months of age, in adult animals whose immune system is suppressed, or in animals who are stressed in other ways (e.g.; change in ownership, other disease present). In dogs and cats, most coccidia are of the genus called Isospora. Isospora canis and I. ohioensis are the species most often encountered in dogs. Regardless of which species is present, we generally refer to the disease as coccidiosis. As a puppy ages, he tends to develop a natural immunity to the effects of coccidia. As an adult, he may carry coccidia in his intestines, and shed the cyst in the feces, but experience no ill effects. What are the risks? Although many cases are mild, it is not uncommon to see severe, bloody diarrhea result in dehydration and even death. This is most common in animals who are ill or infected with other parasites, bacteria, or viruses. Coccidiosis is very contagious, especially among young puppies. Entire kennels may become contaminated, with puppies of many age groups simultaneously affected.

I called AKC. They really dont have a complaint dept. All the rep said to do was contact the BBB and file a complaint. I got another email back from the breeder. Again, all she said was could return him for my money back and that she was being nice by offering that because the receipt says the purchase is non-refundable. HELLO! He is already at the vet and I already paid $600 just for 2 days...he will have to be there 5-7! I am not returning him to her! No way, no how! I just got back from seeing him...they had given him pain medicine about 45 min before I got there...he was SUPER sleepy. He tried to sit up and give me some love, but he just couldn't. They promised it was just the meds and that before they gave it to him he was standing up wagging his tail! No more vomitting since this a.m. and no bloody diarrhea! I am gonna call them in about an hour and see how he is doing. I keep trying to remind myself that I got him when I did! Who knows if she would have even taken him in. Thank you guys for listening to me....It really means a lot. I truly, truly appreciate it!

Beverly Feldman Shoes -- Size 7.5 --
Martha replied to foxytv's topic in Buy / Sell / Trade Archives
Those are so perfect for a DW. I don't have a dress yet...Haven't even looked. I hope someone gets them, they are cute! -
The vet said depending on which textbook you read, there is an incubation period of 7-21 days. Regardless, he didn't get it while he was in my care. I emailed the breeder asking for the money back I paid for him. I just got an email back from her stating there was nothing she could do. I caught her in several little lies and it really ruins her credibility. I dont even care about her or that damn money anymore. I just want Jack to get well. I am getting dressed now so I can go visit him...

Did they at least offer to reimburse you for the medical expenses? Nope. She just offered to take him back or to send him to her vet, which is 3 hours away. Oh well...I don't care about her or that damn money. I just want Jack better! Although, the money would really help with vet bills. Ugh! Karma is gonna get her!

Along time ago we bought some in Mexico....they were super cheap. But, this was in one of the border towns. I wonder if Anny can get a price for you. Is Anny back yet? Hmmm! -
Which Shoes?
Martha replied to foxytv's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
I think #1 are cute and bridal...but the color is too dark for me. Would they match your dress or accent it? With that being said, at this moment, my vote is #2. Until I see the dress. The vote is subject to change. -
Thank you for your kind words guys. I was such a mess yesterday. Losing my Cali a month ago has been really crappy and then going through this yesterday was heartbreaking. They have him on IV, antibiotics, baytril, reglan and buprenex. So, I always Google the print out they give me, because I am a freak that way. It's stuff to help with pain, to help with nausea and of course the antibiotics. I Googled also to see if there was something that was on the list to kill the parvo. There wasn't, so I called the vet hospital and they said there isn't one thing they can give him to kill the parvo, that's what the antibiotics are for. Parvo is very new to me, so I have been reading as much as I can about it. Last night I called to check up on him and they said he was still lethargic and sad and had diarrhea. I called at 4:30 (woke up and couldn't go back to bed) and they said he is up and acting like a puppy! Wants to play and give kisses! He still has diarrhea though. I know it's a good sign that he is up and playing a little more, but I am wondering about the diarrhea. I hope it stops soon!!! Thank you guys for all your well wishes! I truly, truly appreciate it!
