  1. Thank you for your help, ladies! I still have some time to think about it. Maybe I will get 1/2 the invitations printed one way and the other 1/2 printed a different way. ha!
  2. Tricia! That's my friend guys! She is marrying a childhood buddy of mine! I hope you find lots of useful info here!
  3. We are getting legally married in the US before we head off to Mexico. I do not plan to change my name back beforehand. This is why I never changed it back: It's Spanish and much more convenient down here. Also, my maiden name is hard to pronounce and being a teacher, I wanted to make it easy on my students. I am hyphenated on my college diploma and am still hyphenated in grad school...I never wanted to "lose" my maiden name, ya know? So...all my colleagues and newer friends know me by my married name only. Jesus Lord, why is this so complicated?

You could also just address that with your first names, we did: Susan & Matt 5555 Campfire Lane Racine, WI 55555 Did you have your parents' names on the invitation? I have never had the same last name as my parents. So, if ppl look at my parents names and don't know their last name is Scarborough, they will not know it's me. I have never used that name and it will be confusing to ppl. AND, FI doesn't have a middle name. I think it would look silly just saying "Martha and Jay invite you to share, blah blah blah"
  6. No earthly idea...I can't even find great pictures of the place. Just using tripadvisors pictures. I even tried to use webshots.com and didn't have much luck.
  7. Glad you all got that! I think the only issue with using my (current) married name is that this is something special and sacred between FI and I and I think in my mind I do not want to give my EX the "pleasure" of being on my invitations. lol This makes sense in my head...plus we are going to keep one of the invitations and I don't want to look back at it 20 years from now and see my ex's name on there. Maybe I can just use my maiden and just address it from my married name when sending to all the people that know me by my married? Make sense?
  8. Ok here is the deal. I don't know what name to use on my invitations. Here is why... My step-dad (and mom) raised me. I never changed my name to his. I was married before. I still use my married name. It's Spanish and much more convenient down here. Here is the problem.... I am not really fond of using my ex-husbands last name on my wedding invitation, even though this is still what I go by. But, if I don't use it, colleagues and newer friends may not know that's my invitation(ha, sounds funny, but true). Does this make sense? If this is your second marriage, how did you word your invitations? Or, how do you plan to word them?

This might make it difficult because they wouldn't even be able to set up until they close the pools....which might make for a late dinner/reception.
  10. OMG....I just read my post. I seriously need to stop getting on the internet after I take my sleeping pill. Sheesh! ;
  11. I am at home and nothing is blocked...I type in the username and password and it just takes me back to the little password protected box.
  12. I founf a view brides on tripadvisor but they all just used the restaurants. They only blobk off part of the room for you so you arent even getting private room. I would love to be outside!!!
  13. Jay and I met Oct. 2, 2004. I had just separated from my then husband. I let him keep everything we owned, I just wanted out of there! Anyhow on Oct 2nd, I walked in to Ashley Furniture store to buy a couh for my new place. When I walked in and saw Jay, I seriously got butterflies...he was so damn hot. Anyhow...he sold me the infmous red couch. A week later he called to schedule delivery...he expedited the order...it normally takes 4 weeks, I got it in 1!!! When the delivery guys game to deliver the couch at 9am on a Saturday morning, I was a MESS. I had just gotten home at 6am. Anyhow, they told me that my sell guy wanted him me to call him. I am sure the delievery drivers thought Jay must be losing his mind, because I did NOT look attractive at all that morning. He came over for 2 weeks after that. No kissing, no nothing. We would lay in my bed and watch movies with a pillow in between us. The following week, we went to Austin to party with some friends...he tried kissing me and I told him that it was too late. He kept telling me that it was never too late. We played that little game for a few more minutes and kissed...It was after midnight, so out anniversary is Oct. 31, 2004. He moved right on in w/o us talking about it. We broke up for 3 months late last year...we are now better than ever and there is no way our love will not conquer all! So....we got engaged 2 1/2 years after dating, our 3 year anniversary is in 3 months. By the time we get married, we will be 3 months shy of 4 years together! Wow...That was a long answer to a simple question. Sleeping Pills!! aashhhh

  16. I have thought about Nutrisystem, but it's too expensive for us right now.... I hope it works for you! I have heard it is an excellent plan!
  17. I really like those fans! I may go with something like that instead of the palm! Good deals! Did you get two initials for the cake top or just one?
  18. Do you know if Akumal and Tulum share the same wedding locations? I can't find this info anywhere.
  19. I'm moving closer to Tammy! That's a lovely poker party! We don't really cook...I hate to cook and he only like to BBQ. Plus, he's gone most of the time and when he is home, he likes to go out to eat. But, when we move to San Antonio in 2 weeks, I will be cooking (for myself) most nights because I need to get healthier!
