They look really natural on you! Beautiful -

I would probably be interested in sharing a session with you Keep me updated with your plans, OK? It would be awesome to do this with someone I "kind of 'know'" from here . I'm not on here as much as I used to be so please feel free to PM/Email me! I really want to do this for M. Ack! Just saw you're doing this with Jeremy (a male photog.) - NO OFFENSE to his work (actually haven't seen ANY samples!!!) but I've discussed this with FI and I just don't think he would be comfortable with me using a male photographer... and honestly I'm not sure I would either. However if you decide to go with a female definitely keep me in the loop! I have an awesome pad that we could possibly use - and of course there are some amazingly swanky hotels around D-Town hehe Also, I can't remember her name but there was a photog. on these boards located in Arizona or NM I think (??...??) who I was really interested in! I was thinking of maybe taking a "girls weekend roadtrip" out there because I think it would be less suspicious. However, if I could find a good one in Dallas I'd totally be open!!! I just bought a Playboy bunny outfit for Halloween that is ROCKIN'!!! Fi is totally flippin over it, and I got some ideas on the types of stuff he may be in to so I'm really excited to do this for him!

My Wedding Dress is in!!!

Thanks everyone! Especially for the Mom comments Quote: Originally Posted by LisaG That's very cool Jaime!! I love Lulu's! Can't wait to see pics... Hey Lisa, did you use Lulu's for your dress? I think Rachelle may have... Anyways, I'm wondering if they let you have a small group of people come with you when you pick it up? (For everyone else - they're a pretty small shop and ask on their website that you only bring 1 or 2 friends/family members if you can help it.) When the lady left a message, she said to call the tailor when I'm ready - however, I don't want to have it tailored yet (hoping to lose some of that weight ) but obviously I still wanna show my Grandma, Aunt, Sister & MOH all in one place... just curious if you had any experience with this. I just think they're crappy pics cause I wasn't feeling well that day,. but my Grandma was in town so we just decided to take a "light stroll" through the shop - and came out with one! LOL No worries - pics will be taken whenever I go pick it up (probably at least next weekend, whenever we can gather everyone together...). -
How cool - Lulu's Bridal here in Dallas just left me a message saying my dress is in! Today marks exactly 7 months until the wedding, so that's pretty cool =) I'm hoping they will let me come in and try it on cause I want to take my Grandma, Sister, Aunt (she bought me my dress!!!), and Maid of Honor in to show them. However, I don't want to do alterations on it just yet because of all my medical stuff - the doctor predicted I would lose some weight so I'm really hoping that is the case!!! LOL Of course, I will do the usual "bridal work out and diet" beforehand, but you can never really count on that because of all the stress that's sure to come (and thus all the junk food I'll probably be eating to comfort myself - haha!). Oh, this is so neat. It does make me miss my Mom though. For those of you who don't know, she passed away when I was 17. She had a tough life, so it was the right time for her to go. However, it's times like these when I really miss her and wish she could be here to see her little girl all grown up and to see what an AMAZING man I've chosen to be my Husband. Gosh, I'm getting all teary-eyed and sentimental now... Martin, I love you SO MUCH! I guess this is really gonna happen now, huh!? heehee Btw, I promise to take my camera with me when I go and try and take some better shots of the dress. I'm also thinking of asking my FMIL to hand embellish the train. It is just a little plain (well, it's completely plain actually - lol) and the rest of the dress had some beautiful crystal detailing that I think would look beautiful if tastefully mimicked around the edge of the train. Also, on Sunday I'm going for my Bridal Hair Trial. We're considering extensions and a nice loose chiffon style bun, with cascading tendrils (does that make any sense?? haha). I'll definitely take my camera with me to that one as well cause we all know we're picture whores. I'll probably post a separate thread on that though. OOOOH I'm so excited!

Yari - I'm so sorry to hear about your upsets!!! I hope Nicole or Kelley does reply to this thread, because I feel nervous about all of this miscommunication. I am SO sorry you didn't have an isle to walk down!!!! It sounds like that may have been an unfortunate force of nature though... I'm guessing you had your setup facing the ocean and not the rocks? (I haven't seen your pics yet!) To me that is such a bummer, I'm so so sorry hun! I'm also feeling increasingly nervous about the boat rides over there.. not only for my guests but for myself as well! (I nearly got sick the last time I rode over in May) Eek. I'm really trying not to think about all of that though. Things happen. But I do hope that you can get some closure and hopefully talk through things with Nicole/Kelley. I'm sure it would be helpful for all involved! I know you spent so much time planning this wedding, and am so sorry that things were so "off"... But I am glad to hear that you still had a great time marrying your man, and that you would still recommend LC! I guess it's just a chance that all of us DW brides take. We just don't have the amount of control that we would if it were a local wedding. Kind of scary, but something we all need to realize and face going into this. BIG HUGS! Your siggy pic is gorgeous! Can't wait to see the rest!!!

Losing a pet is very hard. I say give her time to grieve. You don't want her to feel like her beloved family member was just "replaced" like that (tho I know that's not your intention). Give her some time. And if she hints around to wanting another dog maybe you could offer to go with her to adoption events or something like that. She definitely needs to bond with the dog she chooses. Martin got me a puppy for Xmas last year. And I had my heart set on this one little girl. It was about a 4 hr drive to get her from the rescue. About 2 hrs into it (on Xmas eve) he says "I have bad news and good news" the bad was that the girl was already adopted! I broke down crying right there. The good news was there were two other boys to look at while we were out there. So I kind of felt forced (tho no one actually forced me - I dunno...) and chose between the two. Well, 9 months later we figured out that it really just wasn't the right situation and the dog was not at all the right match for us and had to give him to my Grandparents about 1 month ago (where he is VERY happy being the only pup!). We REALLY want another pup (this time the same breed as our current dog- a dachshund). A girl too. I've always wanted a girl dog since my childhood dog Denali passed about 5 years ago... I definitely know what I want and this time will take the time to really try and bond with the dog first and try and make sure she's a good fit. For us, we've decided to try our hardest to put it off until after the wedding - enough time for Ollie to get over the "loss" of Conor (and us too) and also give us something to look forward to after the wedding/honeymoon business is all over with... Anyways, hope that helped. It sounds like y'all did a great thing by staying there with the poor dog. Hugs to yoU!

I'm so excited!!!! I found out about this about a week or so ago and should have (would have could have) jumped on tix then but I don't know what I was thinking. Last night there were two balcony tix available and today NADA. So after a lot of thinking I decided to go ahead and buy them for over face value and give it to my friend as her bday present! I'm so stoked - Center Balcony, Row C (3rd Row) Here's a pic of the seating chart: Now I've just gotta plan things right that day. I have a dentist appointment that same day (the big one I've been waiting for) 2 hrs. away in Tyler at 1:30 pm. Doors open at 6:30 but show doesn't start until 7:30 and I'm almost certain she's not the opening act. So I'm happy to have reserved seats. GA was available still, however I'd get there so late (first come first serve) it'd be a huge hassle and generally not good on my herniated disk to stand all night! With a little persuading from Martin to go for it I just bought the tickets! She is my absolute favorite singer and it will be a dream come true getting to see her!!!! Something to look forward to ~ YEAHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok so there's no way to get around it - I am PALE. With freckles. And I love the way I look with a Mystic tan. However, it just streaks right off once you get into the pool or sweat. We're going down to PV on a Tues. and the wedding is on a Sunday. My sister swears that she knows people who get the "real" spray on tans (by a person) and they don't come off like the Mystic tans do, but she admitted that it probably wouldn't last that long... SO does anyone know where to get a personal spray on tan in PV?? Any experience at all with this? If not I guess I'm just gonna have to load up on Jergen's like crazy... P.S. To prove to y'all just how pale I am - in my siggy pic I have a Mystic Tan!

Just wanted to get some advise from some other brides. I want to get everything booked now! We are learning heavily towards an all-inclusive but I think we are still open to any suggestions. We think we will have about 40 people and the hotel has to allow children. Thanks so much for your help!! Hi - like SarahL we are also having our guests stay at the Marriott. I must admit, they've been a PITA to work with so far but luckily Tammy's taking care of that (thanks Tammy!). However, I really think our guests are going to be pleased with our choice. The last 2 times we went we stayed at the Westin and we originally tried to book there but there was a huge convention already booked a YEAR OUT!!! sooo they couldn't really accommodate us. We were pretty bummed, as we really wanted to stay in the Marina area and do a Non-AI (most of our family and friends aren't big drinkers and would rather get out and explore instead of being tied down to the hotel). It's supposed to be undergoing a complete renovation (to be completed by the end of this year, I think?) and I can't wait to see it! We are taking a chance on this one - site unseen but that's kind of exciting to me. Plus there are so many great little restaurants within walking distance in the Marina area. And it's not too far from Downtown (we were also looking at the Barcelo but found it to be too far for us). I'm sure Dreams would be GREAT too though!! Esp. if you're looking for an AI - I'd say go for it! And if you do, definitely try and book through Tammy(host) - she seems to have a lot of connections with that hotel brand. They have a nice atmosphere and some really good fajitas. Actually Steve and I REALLY wished we would have had our WD there. It was like $15 for steak, shrimp and chicken fajitas. We paid WAY more than that for our WD and the people didn't really like the food. LOL Oh well.... Fajita Republic... hmmm... sounds interesting! I can't really think of anyone in our group who could complain about fajitas (esp. their choice of steak, chicken AND shrimp!). Where is it located? Gonna have to check this one out for sure!! Ok, so even though I felt slightly like I was betraying the last book I finished, it definitely helped to get it out on here and I was able to pick up a new book! Drum roll please.... "Eat, Pray, Love" by Elizabeth Gilbert Ollie and I ended up sitting on the porch of our local Brewhouse enjoying the nice weather - he dined on his dinner while I had my own dinner and sipped on a couple cocktails ($3 @ happy hour - can't beat that for a nice little pick me up! ) and dove into my new book. This author is not letting me down. I realized that the last book had truly inspired me, and this book is now taking that to a whole new level. The other books I have seem sad (The Pilot's Wife and another book by the same author) and I decided I just wasn't in the mood for that. This book is about a woman's travels from Italy to India to Indonesia. I'm only on page 40 or so but so far it is definitely what I needed to get over the void (doesn't this sound like a breakup?!? lol). SO, cheers to our old friends and saludos to making new ones!

My youngest sister has passed...I want to cancel ceremony
JaimeLynne replied to Indigo's topic in Just venting or funnies
I am so terribly sorry for the loss of your little sister... My mother passed away about a month before my older sister's wedding. My sister decided to move along with the wedding (it was also a destination wedding - though in the states, Aspen CO.). It actually helped us all out I think. Gave us something really happy to think about in a time of extreme sadness. However, everyone is definitely unique and only you and your family know what's best... If you do go ahead with it, I'm sure your sister will be looking down at you with gracious blessings... best wishes... -
OK so we played "Palin Bingo" just to get through the debates (which Martin nearly fell asleep during)!! We cracked open a bottle of champagne and played along with our roommie. I won! SO that means I get $5 from each of them + bragging rights
