  1. Thanks everyone. Yeah, I def. get the avoidance thing. I used to do that a lot (probably still do to some extent). You know, one of the best parts for me of being a part of this forum is seeing what other girls go through - that really helps me to prepare for bumps in the road like this, and to get through it ok. Without all of y'all and your experiences I probably would have just avoided the situation also and would have been REALLY hurt in the end. I feel pretty blah right now however thanks to this forum I'm able to remember what others have gone through and I'm just thankful that my BFF and MOH has booked and so has one of my other BMs (a good friend from College). And most of my family will be going too. So I definitely am blessed. I just wrote her a pretty short email just thanking her for being honest with me and stuff. Of course she'll still be invited to the Bach. Party and all that - I'm not pissed at her or anything. Just a little sad right now... I know it will get better soon though.
  2. Kinda sad about it, but honestly I'd rather know now than later. I confronted this particular friend because she has not said anything to me really about the wedding. 2 of my BMs have already booked their trip, and 1 is already planning a lingerie party. But nada from this one. Sad though because she's been a friend for several years. I just kinda got the vibe that something was going on, so I wrote her (what I think) was a nice letter, giving her the chance to "bow out gracefully". I know she's dealing a lot with her current relationship, and some other things. So she wrote me back and said she's been avoiding a lot of people not just me. She's in a lot of financial trouble right now too. I definitely get that. However, I've invited her to several things that are just movie nights at our pad and the like and she's never come... Anyways, she was honest with me which I totally appreciate and she did take the opportunity to "bow out gracefully". Anyways, it still kind of feels like a hit below the belt even though I pretty much knew it was coming. I am proud of myself for not avoiding it and stepping up to "confront" her about the situation. But I'm still hurting - I know many of y'all have gone through similar situations. In the end I know those who really truly care and matter will be there (not saying she doesn't matter - that kinda came out weird). *sigh*
  3. Thanks SO much, Morgan! Going to check that out RIGHT NOW!!!

Holy MOLY am I excited about this trip!! Talk about the ultimate in luxury. You literally don't need to move a finger while you're there - the butler carries everything for you (like your beach chair, etc.) and then when you need something while lounging on the beach you just wave a flag and they come bring you whatever you want (it's AI which is NICE). They also start your day on the beach off by bringing you fresh Mangosas (Mango juice & Champagne) and fresh fruit! And they have tea time every day since it has sort of a British theme. We got the extra luxurious HM suite with 2 bathrooms - the second one is a spa bathroom with french doors that open onto a breathtaking view of the ocean, and a chaise lounge to chill on, and a spa tub. Aaahhhhh.... oh geez, I can't think about it too much more because it just seems to wonderful to believe!!! We got an AMAZING deal - we would have never been able to afford a trip like this without that (or it would have been like 4 nights instead of 8!). I feel SO incredibly blessed. And I'm really looking forward to this. So this is the plan - stay 8 nights in PV @ the Marriot and then fly back to Dallas for 1 night, then back on the plane to JA for 8 nights! We'll be home just in time for my birthday so then we can celebrate again... that's gonna be a crazy month of celebrations I tell ya! Here's the website: The Royal Plantation Seriously, go check it out (the website is killer!)! It's just about the most amazing resort I could ever imagine! I read a review on it saying that it made one couple feel like the Four Seasons (in some fancy location) was a Holiday Inn! There are only like 70 or something rooms too which I love because it's not too secluded - just the right amount of privacy *EDIT* Oh, and you can check out all the awards they've won (including Trip Advisor's 2008 "Best All-Inclusive in the World" & Travel & Leisure Magazine's 2008 "World's Best Service"!) here: Royal Plantation Awards They're also having an amazing deal right now - Fly Free, +1 Free Night, + 33% Off!!!! If you like this resort I'd HIGHLY recommend contacting TA Jennifer - she's been GREAT to work with!!!
  5. Thanks Lisa. Do you even have an idea of how much the normally cost?? It's been like 10 years since I've been in one... most of the sites I've looked up say to call for a quote, which I'm too lazy to do. I tried putting Martin in charge of this one, but... well, you probably know how that goes. I'm sure I'll end up getting stuck pulling it all together! And hey, nothin' wrong with passing out candy to all the CUTE little kiddos!! I actually love doing that! However, we live in a gated townhome complex with no kids... boo I would totally pass out candy and then go out if I could! So pass out some really good candy for me... y'all can be those "cool people" who give out the "cool candy"
  6. I'm not sure how this is gonna turn out, but giving it a try! I'm on Martin's laptop so it's hard to find pics of us that fit what they're going for...
  7. Sorry to be lazy, I just went ahead and copied my Bulletin off of Myspace... Quote: Hey, does anyone out there have any connections with a limo service in Dallas? Martin and I have decided not to drive on Halloween, and are considering a limo if the price is right. It would totally fit in with our costumes; we'll be going as Hugh Hefner and Holly Madison Also if anyone's interested in sharing a limo then holla! We'll probably be going to Lee Harvey's, Zephyrs and maybe another party. But honestly we don't have a shitload of cash to throw out there, so the only way we'd go is if we really got a deal. So if you do happen to know a friend or family member in the biz and would be willing to pass on their info I'd appreciate it!!! We're also planning on just going around to a few companies around Oak Cliff (where we live) and letting them know that we'd be interested in any cars they might not be able to rent out that night... for a discount of course - if not, we're fine taking a cab, but a limo would be pretty sweet... I haven't been in one since Prom!!!!! ~ Jaime

Maybe somewhere down the line someone should take another one. I guess we'll just need to keep an eye on it to see how it's doing. Honestly I'm pretty naiive when it comes to that stuff. It was a long piece of hair that she wrapped into a circle (does that make sense??) and then put that into a bun. And this was attached to my regular hair by hairpins. 12. Hey Rachel! I've had this dilemma twice now - once last year as Britney Spears and now as Holly Madison. Those look like some strap on boobs that I saw at Costume World - they have a website so you might check them out online. Those were the best I could find! They're like $60-100 tho! I've been thinking I need to make something like this for this exact purpose and then sell them! Cause this is the 2nd year and I haven't really found anything that's really good and "realistic" looking - like I said, the ones at Costume World were prob. the best I've seen so far. And I've done a lot of research Let me know if you figure out something! It's really hard when you want to have cleavage. One of my friends suggested to me to get two of those bouncy balls that you buy in the kid's toy section and then order a 38FFF...bra of the net to fill 'em! I thought that might hurt my own boobies tho! lol Good luck...!

Hey Yamille! Well, to be honest I can't really take the credit for "being on the ball" My hairstylist recommended it, because we were trying to decide if I needed to grow my hair out some or if I could leave it short. Due to the weather in PV that time of the year (hot and humid!) she thought an updo would work best so that my hair doesn't just completely "fall" 10 minutes after it's done We're getting closer - are you excited? I am!

Maybe I'll get a pic of the dress and the hair all together next time!! I think it's gonna look awesome with my dress, which is strapless. Ooooh I'm getting all girly and excited now lol!
  16. Good luck Martha!!! And don't worry about getting to the pics - just rest up for us, OK? I'm sending good vibes your way this week, sweetie
  17. heehee, I like that one. Consider it passed on
  18. Erin - lol, yes I know BDW girls all too well when it comes to pics! haha Oh and this is sort of random and unplanned but the colors I'm wearing in my top are our wedding colors! Fuchsia and Teal/Turquoise
  19. Thanks girls! Can I add how much FUN it was going from having *barely* enough hair to pull into the tiniest pony tail (basically just a little longer than my siggy pic) to having a 'do like that?! Gotta love hair extensions/add-ons!!!
  20. How fun Celina!!! btw, Ive never gotten a lap dance either (or been to a strip club at all for that matter!). I'm fairly sure I'll be "joining the club" so to speak when my B-Party comes
  21. I LOVE my hair This is just a quick mock-up that she did in like 10 minutes. The hair she had doesn't exactly match my hair, but you get the idea... I really like it Also, we made the decision to grow my hair out about 3 inches longer so that the bun can come down a little more on the side. I'm gonna miss my short little bob in the meantime! Of course, all my BMs flaked on me - thank goodness my sis came to my rescue at the last minute to go with me!!! I just sent one of my BMs a "serious" letter asking her if she really wants to be a BM, cause I haven't heard anything from her on the wedding front. Told her that I would honestly understand if she doesn't have the funds/time, and that she would still be included in things, but this is a special time to me and I need my girls around me. Ok so ANYWAYS (sorry kind of got off on a tangent there now didn't I? lol)... without further ado... my HAIR!!! (btw, there are over 15 pics - can't say I ever let you down in the pics department! haha) I did the first two big so you can see some extra detail. If you want to see bigger pics of the rest - go here: MySpace Btw, my sister is going to buy me a really nice crystal clip from Neiman's or something - something cool that I could pass down to stick right above the bun... I'm thinking something with a butterfly, cause butterflies mean a lot to me. (Excuse the pit stains - LOL) More to come...

We have lots of new DFW brides so we should plan to get together sometime! Yeah, I found out Martin is pretty ga-ga over boy shorts Plus there were a ton of costumes that he liked - that might be kinda fun I'm sorry you missed the meetup! Lisa, Rachelle & I had a great time together! It would be fun to do another one - would love to meet ya
