  1. Chris's is like that one with the black band, but his is bevelled around the edges (I can't tell if yours is). we are almost at one year and his ring still looks brand new! We had to order 4 times because the sizing was really off, but we are still so happy with the rings!
  2. I'm sure the Transat thing was a one-off, once in a life time thing. I hope, anyway! Just be prepared to be cramped, the seating is CRAMPED!! You can go online and reserve what seats you want, if there are a bunch of you going in the same plane. It does cost money I think though. It's on the transat website. The ceremony was right out in the middle of the beach, so not private at all, but they did help with moving people out of the way when it came time for the ceremony. But there will be people watching for sure. There are a number of really nice areas around the resort to pick if you want it more intimate. Pretty much anywhere if you ask, they will set you up where you wish. I'm not sure what you mean by the reservations. Things might have changed since I was there last, because we didn't need reservations at all except for the one dinner that came with the honeymoon suite package (which was the steak house or seafood by the ocean). You might have to check with the other girls on that one. My goodness, less than a month! You must be bustin!!

  4. Here is my review of my wedding at OB http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t20918 I can't believe it's almost been a year!! OMG! Believe me, you will want to get married on the beach, it's ama-zing! We had thought about the gazebo before we went down there but changed our mind as soon as we arrived. Please let me know if you have any questions after reading the review... it's quite comprehensive! LOL.

I agree with this as well. At my grandmother's funeral mass I felt confused about taking communion because although I was baptised and confirmed, I have never been to church regularly at all, only with her (and the only one in my family to take her) so I did for her sake, but felt a bit like a fraud.
  6. uuurrrggg, I had head psoriasis when I was younger and I had to shampoo with a tar shampoo. Multi tar plus it was called... it scarred me for life I think! I will ALWAYS remember the smell of that stuff! But it worked like a charm...

  9. Feel free to add your comments if you want, otherwise, it's an anonymous poll. I mean this to be non-denominational, though I know not everyone practices in a "church" For myself, I was not raised around religion (my parents) though I did go to church with my grandmother on Christmas Eve every year. I just never "got it" I suppose.
  10. Abbs, you need to d/l the facebook application! You are FB'ing in safari??
  11. My latest obsessions are imob and ivampires. Lord help me I need an intervention! And ShapeUp is a really good app for tracking eating/workouts/water. etc. Tweetie with my twitter obsession.. Hey you girls on BDW.. are you just using Safari? I find it uber annoying always pinching in and out.
  12. I've just committed myself to the slim in 6 again. The girl Debbie is a bit of a dork, and the music is horrible, but I'm just going to turn her down and use my own music. The stretching and poses makes me feel awesome after a workout. Sunstarsmoon, I hear where your son is coming from. I did gymnastics from about 8-13 and I feel disgusted with how out of shape I am, just in terms of being limber. Boo.
  13. I try and get on here and post where I can help in DR and when a thread title intrigues me. Otherwise, I kind of stick to non-planning threads like in health and beauty and that type of thing But to be totally honest there are SOOO many new people on here every day, it's hard to connect with people than it was before. I'll keep trying, but I have made really good friends on here, it's hard to let that go! We should have more chit-chat sub-forums for the married types, like a house and home or hobbies or something.
  14. It's all downhill from here! Congrats!!
  15. I wasn't at this wedding but a friend of mine from high school got really drunk at her cousin's wedding and hit on her new husband. Ouch. They haven't talked since, and I don't blame her. Like she cornered him in the bathroom hallway and started kissing him and stuff! Saying why are you with herrrr, you should be with meeeeeee! Ugh!
  16. geeze, I'm on Amazon right now and it's $17.33 plus tax and shipping! WTF?!
  17. oo awesome! I never thought to check there! I think I have a GS for amazon too. Sweet!
  18. heather did you find a Canadian source for the video?
  19. I got my dress at Winsor as well. HUGE selection, though I ended up going with a bridesmaid dress made in white. I had specified "beachy" when I went to try stuff on, but they just kept putting me in these big poufy things that just did not suit me or where we are getting married. See?
  20. Lots of Canadians on here giving you a big welcome! I was north of T.O before we moved to Brockville. So welcome! Lots of great info here!
  21. Heather how aweful for you to have to deal with that! Who needs that kind of stress when planning the best day of their lives? Why don't these horrible vendors realize this? BOOOOO to them! Have you picked out a new photog yet? Let us know who you do find!
  22. We didn't need anything to prove we were actually married. They just did the ceremony. The wording they used was really nice, so even if you didn't want to make it really legal back home, you didn't have to. It was like a promise ceremony, they way they worded it. It was really nice.
  23. One of my managers just told me this story last week about his brother's wedding. This was eons ago (like 15 years ago maybe) when he was 22 and his brother was 25. So the ceremony was at city hall, no probs there. After the ceremony (it was about 20 people) he says they are heading to The Keg for dinner. So my boss is thinking wow, that's pretty cool for a dinner. They get there, he says to his brother, any restrictions on what to order? And the brother says whatever you want! So he's like cool! Gets a really expensive steak, his wife surf and turf etc. At the end of the meal, you guessed it, everyone gets their bills! The brother's like oh, I wasn't paying for this, what did you think? My boss FREAKED because he was only like 22 and he and his wife just had a kid and couldn't afford a $200 meal! WTF?!
