  1. Everything looks wonderful Alyssa! Your dress is amazing! Your guests will be floored with all the little details you have created!
  2. Wow! I am more than a week late on this!!! Glenda I send you my best wishes for a fantastic year! XO, Paula
  3. Have a fantastic day! Hope Aaron has something wonderful planned for you today!
  4. I have used it before and I have sensitive skin. I use the 'concealer' powder everyday, but I cannot use the all over face powder foundation. I look too pastey and if I wear sunglasses, it makes nice little marks on the bridge of my nose. They do have great colours for blush, eyeshadow and liner though and I will continue to use those.
  5. Hope your operation goes well today Jodey!
  6. Muchisimas felicidades Maurita y Jose! Les deseo lo mejor del mundo en su vida juntos! MUA! Paula

Good! Ensure your photographer is on their approved vendor list. Those details have changed since I was marreid in Feb, but may photographer is still allowed there. That suggests to me they are holding more than 1 wedding and reception in one day. Can anyone shed any light on this topic please? Thanks Depends on the time of year you go. Dreams has gained such popularity. Such a wonderful feeling to be married on the tip of the Yucatan penninsula! PM TA Jill. She was also married there before being a Dreams TA specialist. She may be able to shed some light on that. You guys are right about the buffet, it defiinitely relieves some stress on our part, less decisions and more options for the guests!! The buffet was great! I am Mexican and wanted good Mexican food along with items our American guests would be comfortable with as well. Definitely the way to go for options.

She kept saying God this and God that, but that was fine, we had Quote: Originally Posted by lucy106 If I remember correctly you may need to decide basic things like time, and locations, then they will send you a contract to sign. When we were married there were no other weddings or corporate events going on, so if we wanted, we could have probably have changed it. Claudia spent a lot of time with us the day we got there going through all the details. She had saved off all the pictures I had sent and had a very good idea of what I wanted. Gaby (and prior - Daniela) work a lot replying to emails as Claudia (who speaks English very well) is more senior and organizes all the events, not just weddings. She has very little time off as they have so many events to put together. She spends very littletime in the office - you will see her running around all over the place. I cannot say this enough, I worried too much about the little things there, since I didn't have control over them. They really do know what they are doing. You are having a destination wedding, thank goodness they are taking care of all of those little things. Closer to your wedding date you will have more time dedicated to your questions and it will be perfect. Spend time on things that are in your control, dresses, thank you cards, OOT bags if you are doing them, song playlists, guest book, etc. (we really didn't need any decorations btw). We had to most amazing time and our guests said it was the best wedding they had ever attended - and we had some picky guests

We had the video done through the resort package and was actually our photographer's husband. It worked out very well. I don'thave it posted anywhere, but I must say, we are so glad we got it! The day goes by so fast, you are able to re-live it and maybe see some things you didn't know about Quote: Originally Posted by JODEY Has anyone thought about having background music playing during dinner ? What are your thoughts on this ? Has anyone who has already got married done this ? If so what did you do and how did it work out? Do you think an IPOD and docking station would be sufficient for this ? There will only be around 35 of us. Also why is it so hard to get hold of the legal ceremony wording ? I know this is a big issue but it is so frustrating, how do we know if we want to do our own wording or stay with the origional ?? Am I right in thinking that we get drinks service through cocktail hr and dinner ? Can anyone tell me what time the lobby bar closes ? Is the lobby bar near to the Terrace ? Sorry for all the questions, thanks We had the mariachi trio during the cocktail hour, so the sound guy moved the equipment from the gazebo to the reception area, inside and out on the terrace. Our dinner and reception music was all on our ipod, but the sound guy played it so that there were no 1 second gaps in between each song. He controlled the volume during speaches, played the right songs during the ritual dances, la vibora, the garter, bouquet toss, etc. I think it was worth paying for the extra time with the sound system. We had 41 people. There is a bar in the tower lobby which is where we had dinner and reception, right next to our tables. Cannot remember what time the main lobby bar closes, but many of our guests were there until close that night.
  10. Sounds like everything that could have gone wrong, did. So sad. Of course, you look stunning!
  11. Great information Glenda, thank you for posting it. I am surprised at how easy it is to have it changed for credit cards, bills, cell phones, etc. I *still* have not changed my name and as I discussed with Jamy, if I were still in Mexico, I wouldn't - women just don't legally change it. I was trying to figure out a way to have my maiden and his last name both as my last name so I could go by either one.
  12. I hope you have an excellent day Jen!!! Friday birthdays rock!
  13. So many 'crushable' members on here... Maria (MikkiStreak) and I are definitley Twinkies. We have a lot in common, (although I am not as eloquent as she is) ... I just love her! Jamy - Attracted to her heart and sense of humor... oh and we would have the *best* meals together! Heidi - Have you seen those eyes? She is a picture of sweetness. Jilly & SusanK - I was obsessed reading their Dreams posts during my planning, felt like we shared an important time (and place) together. Maura and I clicked early on... and she transported my to my younger days! Gotta love it. Chale! All of those senior & 'old school' members that kept me coming back to the board during every minute I had! So much LOVE on this forum! Really too many to mention because they all have something special that attracts me to them.
  14. Good one Tammy! I'd better get working this weekend. Jamy - love yours!
  15. I used a TA and she was a life saver. I would think that eventhough you are used to making your own arrangements, you need to keep in mind you are planning a wedding AND then answering everyone's questions about so many things either related to the wedding or travel. So why not let someone else help with those specifics?
  16. I don't know the specific resolution, you would need to ask her, but I have printed some out myself in 8x10 and they look great!.
  17. Of course I am late to this thread, hehe, but here are a couple of my faves, they don't really apply to an engagement party though: Shower: MOH embellished some white thong sandals Unique wedding present: A tree planted in our yard.
  18. Laura you look so gorgeous and Robin and Rayden are both so handsome! I love, love, love your wedding pictures!
  19. We went yesterday to see it and I really enjoyed it! Didn't feel like 2.5 hrs long... I would see it again

They are not as small as dixie cups, but I know we didn't have any problem whatsoever getting drink after drink after drink... We were all over the place - personally I wouldn't want to keep tabs on stadium cup. Quote: Originally Posted by lucy106 Does anyone know if DC will or has done these flower balls for flower girls? I want to put the info in my newsletter that I'm sending out but without being at the resort, I'm not sure what bar would be best. We have about 40 people coming so it would need to be a pretty spacious place. Any ideas? We all met in the lobby bar and went to a themed dinner they had that Friday. All other restaurants on the premises close when they have these (used to be Tues and Fri nights) so it worked out well. They have it in a ball room.
