I emailed them and requested more information and all they've done is send me the exact information off their website in word format. We don't believe that we really need to hire a full out wedding coordinator because we're only planning on having approximately 10 guests. We have however been looking into destinationweddings.com does anybody have any knowledge on them? From what I gather they can help us with bookings and getting deals for our guests etc. But really, I have no idea how they work and am quickly getting overwhelmed (And we just started the planning!). They claim to need a $50 deposit prior to really doing any legwork. How much do their services cost after this initial $50? I'm sure once the ball gets rolling things will be better but for now we're a little confused. Any advice on where to being and if anybody has used that dw.com and can let me know if they do what we need it would be great to hear from everyone. Thank you kindly! Myles & Sarah Sarah, where in Canada do you live? I have a travel agent who specializes in DW's and she helped me find reviews and information on the resorts I was interested in and is pretty well organizing all the guests for me. I can give you her information, or just tell you to find a good travel agent and they will do a lot of the work for you.

  3. I said we are not going on a honeymoon, but we are, just not till like 6 months to a year after the wedding. We want to save up a little money and go somewhere really nice a little while later. That way we get 2 vacations out of it.

But, I could go with you, or when you go I could give you the basic area to check.

I just wanted to know what others thought.

  7. Its so funny cause both my FH and I commented on your address being in there, I thought it was a mistake, but then thought Oh well, she just does not care. If I lived closer I would stalk you, but I am a bit far away for that. Those RSVP cards ROCK. I seriously love them. I am also down for the Tofu Pesto Pasta, let me know when you are making it. Can we have mushrooms though, I love them with pesto Oh, and red peppers.
  8. Okay, I am dying to see these, but should not look now at work. Damn work, it always gets in the way. I will look at them tonight though, I can't wait.
  9. Great picture Nicole. I can't wait to see the rest. I have this on my list of things for my photographer to take a pic of. I hope I remember to do it

  11. Shelley, if you are not in love with any of them, then you need to keep looking. Are you going to more places tomorrow? And the next day?

It'd be so much cheaper for Ann to re-ship out to you and Courtney... In fact, if you go to the UPS website, you can get an idea of what shipping charges will be.... That's how I estimated whether it would be cheaper to have Ann ship them all, or just select ones. Sometimes it's a pain in the ass to figure out tho because you have to look up what zone you are in, as well as the shipper, and then compare that to their zone shipping rates... I'm used to it from work, so it wasn't a big deal to figure some charges using DHL or UPS... Well, I do not know Ann's zone or whatever, so I will just leave it to her I really appreciate all the effort girls, I can't wait to get them.

But since this is sending the order in and they have to place each order separate, it might take a day or two. I'd say if you havent' heard from him by mid-afternoon tomorrow, just ask him how long it will be before he confirms with order numbers... $200 are you serious What, it does not cost that much money to ship to Canada, he just did not want to do it. Oh well, thanks to Ann us Canadian girls can get our Pash's.

As I said before I am sure 3 months is more than enough time (well, just under 3 months), but I am a little worried about it. If I do not get them on time it will be a huge waste of money. (well, not huge, but you know what I mean).
  15. This made me teary eyed. What an amazing thing for you to have found and to be able to use at your wedding. I am so happy you found that shell. That means you will have good luck on your wedding day and in your marriage for sure.
  16. I am bumping this because both Laura and Shelley have not responded to this post and I do not want them to think I forgot about them last weekend.

Military guidelines give us 30 days after the legal date to show an original certificate for insurance purposes for me to join Tom's policy ... so we really don't have an option of doing it legally there if I am to get on his insurance. Sucks, but at least we've found a great alternative. That is totally different then, you should get married in the US first. It did take around 4 to 5 months for her to get her marriage license. She did not have to have it translated into Spanish though, it was not an issue then. Seems kinda odd to have to do that, but I think they are just trying to get more money out of us DW Couples.

My friend got married in the DR last year and it was really easy. They did not have to leave the resort or anything. It was simple. Is it harder for you cause you are American?
  19. We are doing it legally. I do not see the point of just doing it symbolically, we only want to get married once. It would be to hard to decide who can come to the legal part, and when to do it, and I would not want 2 anniversary dates, I am not which one would be the one we celebrate, cause one would be the real date and the other would just be the ceremony date. Too much hassle in my mind. Besides, its really easy to get married in Cuba, no needles or anything.
  20. YAY!!! Good luck. Come back and show us pics and let us know how it went. I can't tell you anything that everyone else has not already told you. Oh, except if you are going to look for a veil as well, wear you hair as you would on your wedding day (ie. up or down or half up), that was you can get an idea if you like it and/or want to wear one. Make sure you do try on lots of dresses, even ones you are not sure you like. Its what I did, I tried on one that everyone did not like cause of a pin on it, and it was the one that everyone loved and said looked amazing on me. So, you just never know.
  21. Curt and I have been together for 3 years as of July 15th and we are getting married on October 24th, so we will have been together for 3 years and 3 months.

  23. I was going to say what the other girls already did. My addition is that you should both have what you like and what you want, regardless of colour. Its for him to wear, not you and vice versa. So, good chioce to let him have his yellow gold.
