  1. I was on old navys sight the other day and the flip flops were on clearance for $1.99 each, but they only had white & orange, I think. Also if you set up a username on their site, they email you coupons from time to time. Sarah,I thought I had seen fuschia ones at the old navy store last summer, they don't have them?
  2. Welcome! I think there are a couple of DR brides here, they will probably be better able to assist you with location questions than I will. But let me know if there's anything else I can help with, you'll find a lot of helpful information here, on many different topics!
  3. Nicole, those bags only cost $2 each?? I love them. I've looked at a lot of canvas bags, but I really want something that has a sort of tropical feel to it, and I really love those.
  4. Do it Christine, you'll feel so good when you're done!! Can you tell my heart is still pounding from when I got off the treadmill 10 minute ago! lol
  5. Well Congratulations on finding a location!! I just noticed when I was reading through some other threads that you were looking at costa rica & panama before, and then I remembered that you were having some problems with travel to those locations. We were going to do costa rica for our honeymoon, but decided to stay in mexico and move to a different resort, so we'd spend a little less money on air travel. I think Cuba will be a great location, definetly post pics!
  6. I briefly looked into aventura spa palace, I loved it but they didn't allow kids. I feel like every resort I really loved, didn't allow kids. I think its a great choice and I hear the palace resorts do great weddings.
  7. I just stopped by my laptop to check things out on the BDW and then I'm heading down for a date with the treadmill. I was so hungry when I got home that I just wolfed down half of my daughters meatball sandwich, better add on an extra 10 tonight!
  8. Jules, I didn't know you were getting married in Cuba? is this a new development? I heard that Cuba is beautiful. We would love to go there, you know if we weren't from the US, lol.

Funny, because I was actually the one that didn't really want mexico because it seemed spring breakish, but after researching every carribean island they were all either too expensive for our guests, we had already been to that island, or it was an island we didn't really want to go to for our wedding. Dreams was one of the first hotels my TA suggested to me when we started looking and I just kept avoiding it because I didn't want to go to cancun for my wedding. But the more I thought about it, I'm getting married in October and dreams is more of a family resort, so I've gotten over it, and everyone says cancun is beautiful so that makes me feel better. I just want everyone to have a great time.
  10. I agree, I think you can eliminate some of the unwanted emails if you post your prices up front. Thanks for the feedback, Jonathan!
  11. I sent out my std's right after new years for my october wedding. In the std's I put all the TA's info to contact and a few other pieces of information. I know that my family and friends don't have tons of money so they will need as much notice as possible to save the money for the trip. I also figured if I got them out before tax time people would have money from their taxes to use towards booking their trip. I'll be sending the invitations about 12 weeks ahead of time so I can get a final count and make my final decisions. A lot of my decisions with the resort are going to depend on how many people are actually coming.
  12. Wow, you guys have been busy on this thread today! Now I'm going to put my two cents in. When I was contacting photographers, one of the first things I did ask was what their prices were because if a photographer was totally out of my price range I didn't want to waste their time. Now, I work in sales, so I understand the photographers perspective of wanting to be able to show their potential client the quality of their work, and be able to establish a relationship with them, but I still think it's important to let someone know up front at least the minimum price you're willing to work for. I had contacted a photographer that is about an hour and a half away from me and he didn't want to give me pricing without me coming in to see his work. I can understand that, but for me to drive an hour and a half to see someones work and then find out that they are way over my budget would be a waste of both of our time, because no matter how much you may love someones work, if you're working on a budget there is not usually much you can do. Also, rather than asking if people are flexible on their rates, I asked if they had hourly rates and if you could create your own package. I know some people have mentioned that they were able to get hourly rates for their photographers, but I really wasn't able to find any that did that. I wasn't necessarily trying to get a discount by asking this, I think everyone deserves a fair price for their services, but just merely trying to work within a budget. Jonathan, would you find this offensive? please be honest, I never want to offend anyone.

    Newbie here

Welcome! Oooh, hawaii, I'm jealous!! You'll find tons of helpful information here, please let us know if you have any questions.
  14. Jules, I feel the same way. I'm 5 nothing, and steve's not that tall, 5'7", but I feel so short around him when I'm barefoot and he totally plays it up too, when I have not shoes on. I have to at least where a wedge
  15. Congratulations!! Everything looked gorgeous! And it sounds like everything went off without too much of a hitch!
  16. I didn't get to do the treadmill last night because I didn't get home until almost 9 and tonight I'm not going to be home until 9 again. I hate my job. I'm going to have to do extra time on the treadmill tomorrow night.
  17. Edyta, thanks for posting that sight!! I also found the wedding band I want online but am nervous about ordering online and not knowing if it is a reputable place. But I did find at least 3 bands on the site you posted that I liked, one very similar to the other one I wanted and all three were less expensive than the other place I looked, I'm so excited!
  18. Christine that's awesome!! You are supposed to try to always eat most of your daily points. And she's probably right about the flex points too, but I confess I didn't use any flex points last week, a. because I was saving them in case I needed them on the weekend and b. because I didn't really need them, I was okay without them. I guess your leader would probably know best and with exercise you do need to take in more calories. Congrats on your weight loss!
  19. its good to see the things every has budgeted for because my budget is half ass right now, but its up around 11000. We really wanted to stay under 10k, but I don't see how that will be possible unless we cut out our honeymoon. I'm going to complete my budget tonight (with the help of all of your budgets) and I'll post mine later.
  20. Surprisingly enough, I was very good this weekend, I don't know what happened to me!! We usually like to have some drinks on the weekend and had we gone out I probably would have, but I decided that I'm going to really try to only drink when we go out, so I don't waste a bunch of calories and then inhale food I shouldn't eat. Steve felt so bad for me on Sunday because we went to his mothers to watch the Pats and his whole family was there and I didn't want to drink and I couldn't eat any of the good food. But it was worth it when I weighed myself and lost 7.6 pounds, I just posted that in the exercise thread a few minutes ago too. I know every week won't be like this, but its a great motivator! I don't know if I can go through this again this sunday, i just want football to be done!!
  21. Thanks Sherry, BTW congrats on finding your dress!! oh, I really want to go find a dress, I really want something similar to yours. But I've never tried one on either, so I'm not sure how its going to look!
  22. Thanks Sarah! Oh don't worry, I'll probably gain next week from working out so much, but eventually it does start to come off so its worth it!
  23. Congratulations Sherry! That's so exciting. I tried to stop into a davids bridal the other day on my way home and they said, Oh you need an appointment, I said can't I just try the dresses on by myself, no they won't let you. I'm like whatever, the store I went to was dirty and gross anyway, so I'm going to make an appointment at a different one.
  24. I've been on my treadmill everyday since last thursday and its getting easier to stick to, but I keep telling myself that no matter what I have to do it every day. Sarah, thats a good idea about doing the weights when you're watching tv. I don't usually just watch tv, I'm usually doing something else at the same time, magazine, folding laundry etc.., but now I'm going to try this. This was also the first week I really, really stuck to WW. I didn't drink at all, even when we watched the Pats on sunday and had all kinds of yummy food, I ate the veggies and had a TON of water. But it was worth it when I got on the scale yesterday and lost....7.6 pounds! Probably a lot of water weight because it was my first real week, but nevertheless I lost something, so that helps keep me motivated. The exercise really does help!
  25. I'm confused about something with her. When I contacted her for my wedding in cancun she said she would have to travel about 4 hours to get there, which I thought was strange because I thought she was from that area. But now it seems like she's telling PV brides the same thing. Does anyone know exactly where she is from?
