  1. I'm expecting a proposal from Kristin (The Dazzling Details) this week!!! I'm so excited. Hopefull we'll finally have our date and location booked by the end of next week! Can't wait!
  2. Christine, I think it all comes down to how much time you have for your reception. I've been to a couple of weddings where they have slideshows during dinner and they've added a nice touch. But a couple seem to have tried to cram too much during their reception and it seemed very scripted. Also, if you do, make sure the person who is setting it up during the reception knows what they are doing. My very good friend had a groomsman set it up on his laptop, well it took him like 15min to try to set the whole thing up.
  3. Hi Darlene, We are estimating about 150 ppl (our guest list totaled more than 300) for our wedding. We are in the middle of booking Dreams Puerto Vallarta for our June/July 2008 wedding. I agree with Edyta, you may want to reconsider the location. Overall Cabo is more expensive than PV (this is one reason why we choose PV). Also, I've asked the WC at Dreams if prices differ for Adults and children for the wedding reception. And they do! Its about a $20 difference. (I dont want to quote prices right now because I dont have them with me so I'll try to update this later.) Now I'm making sure to consider the ages of all the children who are attending the wedding in my guest list. PM me if you need any info on dreams PV.
  4. I hope you won't crash mine... b/c it looks like we might get married on the same day!!! Don't want you to miss out on your big day.. hehe
  5. No, we haven't started ring shoping. I think we'll wait till the end of this year to purchase our rings.

  7. I vote for three ann. But I am biased because your e-ring is similar to mine and I told my fi that I want diamonds ALL the way around my band... hehe
  8. Anny, I think you made a good point. You will be traveling between two places why not have your ceremony on the beach. You may also add that hotel as a second option for your guests that way it may not seem so weird to your FI.
  9. I'm in the process of hiring an outside coordinator. I'm planning on having about 150 guests. I have specific ideas of what I want and would rather go with someone I feel can do the job. I don't like that I've contacted so many hotels and it takes forever to reply and all I ever get is the same package information that they sent me the first time! I am also planning a Catholic Church Ceremony and would want someone who could handle both the outside ceremony and reception. We'll se how it goes..

We're actually researching Mayan Riveiera at the moment as it is cheaper and more accessible for our many guests... any other places offer something like this also?? Thanks!! FYI: there is another post somewhere (RM/Cancun area), but they mention that they have a Catholic Wedding Chapel, it really is a large gazebo with church pews. I believe it was for the one of the palace resorts. It looks very nice. Check with Jackie, I believe she posted it.

  12. Oh Tammy. That def sucks! I suggest you listen to Glenda!
  13. Leigh! Those are great! Love, love, love them!
  14. I agree, MAC is stage makeup so it lasts longer. I love thier coverage but because I am prone to break-outs I only use their make-up for very special occasions.

  16. Welcome! I agree, a mid week wedding while on vacation is not a bad option. Who keeps track of days while they're in paradise?

  18. I still want something formal. I'm planning on having my BM dresses made by this great seamstress who I've known for years. (she maid my BM dress for my Brother's wedding for $50 bux!) Think of the blue dress in brown and I also like Jennifer Garner's dress but would make it less revealing.

  20. I voted for the strapless satin. I know its a little bit more formal but it is your wedding! But I suggest you shorten it a bit.

I think that if you opt to see each other before the ceremony, make sure to have the same type of shot (where he is waiting for you to arrive) I.e. he's waiting at the bottom of the stairs while you come down them. I think you can still capture the same type of emotion.
