  1. Danskos are the only way to go for me! I work 40-60 hrs a week in the hospital on my feet and I swear it's the only way I survive. I've worn Crocs, Birks, all sorts of tennis shoes and always come back to Danskos. I even wear them at home now I'm so spoiled by them... I have 5 pairs They take about a week to break in, and they feel REALLY strange until you're used to them, but stick with it. Here's my newest pair, my second pair of patent leather Danskos- I get comments on these constantly!:
  2. Gorgeous! Love it love it love it! I've already seen quite a few of these Alyssa, but all together in the slideshow they look amazing. You have so many great shots- picking favorites is going to be nearly impossible You know what one of my faves is? The one with you and K in the hammock together- the smiles on your faces are just perfect.... total happiness.
  3. Juan, love it, love it, LOVE it! The wedding photos are spectacular as always, but I absolutely adore their day-after shoot. The colors are so vibrant and the scenery and location backdrops are great! It's always so fun to see you go somewhere new and the perspective that you have... amazing work once again Oh, and what is the name of that resort where they got married? I want to go there! The scenery in their wedding pictures is absolutely incredible!
  4. I'm an RN too, and I think I use Purell like 100 times a night. I've been wearing my e-ring (Platinum) for 2 1/2 years, and my wedding band for year and a half. I haven't had any discoloration or prong weakening....

I guess i better start thinking about Christmas again too...
  6. To do your own design at MPIX you have to first upload your file to an album, then go to Specialty Products then Greeting Cards, and then select 4x8 full image. This is what my cards looked like. This is just the file I uploaded- they looked awesome in person on the metallic paper. They're $0.56 each with envelopes on MPIX.
  7. Gorgeous Yari! I love it! Everything looked so beautiful... the pics of your tablescape with the candles at night were just breathtaking. You looked so radiant, beautiful, and happy
  8. MPIX metallics... all the way! They have some pre-designed templates or you can upload your own design. I want to say they're like $0.69 or something like that...
  9. How cool! What a great story to be able to tell about your wedding
  10. Congratulations Erica! You looked amazing- can't wait to see the rest of your pictures. I'm so glad everything went well. I'll be looking for your review, but in the meantime, enjoy your husband
  11. They won't retest you at the hospital- and they wouldn't get the results fast enought for it to matter... but have you asked your OB office to retest you? That's what I was talking about. Have them test you now while there's still time to get the results. Chances are, if you were negative on your first test, you're still going to be negative- that doesn't change very often. But for your own peace of mind that's the route I'd go- demand to have the OB retest you in the office this week.

I was hoping you were going to say they were from the same place- or even the same shelter. That would make more sense. I still don't think it's something your older kitty has, I just think it's really bad luck that they both have had an infectious disease. Wish I could come up with a better solution for you. I'm so sorry you are going through this with your kitties. It's not fair.
  13. Martha you'd have a lot better luck demanding another GBS test now... rather than waiting until delivery. You can try to ask for it at the hospital when you're admitted, but if a patient asked me that, I'd just look in their chart and see what their results were- the doc will do the same- and if they're negative they're not going to get treated. Rather than have to put up a fight on admission to the hospital- trust me, you'll have enough crap on your mind rather than dealing with that, if you want to be retested you should call his office 10 times a day until he gets you in for it. "The squeaky wheel gets the grease" is a good adage in this situation. Lizz, I still can't believe your DH knows the sex and you don't Wow... talk about willpower! Good idea leaving him home while you register. Do you think he can keep it a secret for the next 4 1/2 months? Karma- have they told you that you have to stay in the hospital for 48 hours? Were you untreated with your 1st baby, or didn't have adequate treatment, or was your baby symptomatic? At both hospitals I've worked at we only keep moms & babies for that long if they didn't have adequate treatment or if the babies had fevers, etc... Interesting. Just make sure you get to the hospital in plenty of time to get 2 doses of antibiotics in before the delivery- generally if you're treated you're good to go. Lisa, so glad you're feeling good! I hope I'm still feeling that good at your gestation

I looked at FIV and I don't think they have that. But FIP sounds exactly like it. I definitely want to test for it if there is one. I haven't heard of FELV so I'll be googling that one too. Thanks! ETA: Ok FELV ...Loki was tested for that a while back and it came back negative so they said theres no way our first kitty had it b/c if one has it they usually both have it. So it's not that one either. I'm pretty sure it's the FIP. Which I think would be better and safer to just not get any more kittens. It's sad b/c he gets so lonely but I can't handle another death like that. There are serum FIP tests, although they're not always the most reliable. You have to take the results coupled with other clinical symptoms to give a definitive diagnosis. There are a lot of false negative and positive results. Some cats are also just "carriers" and can have the disease but be asymptomatic. Remind me- where did you get the kitties that have passed away. Did they come from the same place?
  15. I'm so sorry Calia... how devastating to lose not one, but two beloved kitties At least these kitties were given a wonderful life while they lived with you. I worked for a vet for 10 years- I know others have said it, but I just want to reiterate: I'd definitely look into testing for FIV, FIP, & FELV for your other kitty. All can be tested at most veterinarians' in-house lab, and if they don't have the tests it's a quick send-out. If the problem isn't coming from your kitty at home (which I'm kinda doubting since the kitties died young) you might consider having any new cats tested right away. If you're getting the kitties from the same place, or if you live in an area that's highly concentrated with these diseases (all highly contagious) you might save yourself some heartache by finding out right away rather than later Again, I'm so sorry...
  16. If your cervix is closed, he didn't feel a hand. He couldn't feel a hand unless you were dilated to at least 2-3 cm, and even then it would be hard and that would mean the baby was in a really funny position- he's probably be talking c-section if that's what he actually felt...
  17. Just an FYI... I'm about 3 days behind on emails so if you're waiting for a response from me, hang in there! Sorry for the delays- I have a bazillion projects going on right now
  18. Just had to say CONGRATULATIONS! I didn't know you guys set a date!
  19. Wow Jackie... I think that in my two years of being on this forum I've cried watching like 2 weddings besides my own- and this is one of them. I'm not sure if it's the amazing pictures (def. a possibility), or because your pics are so full of emotion that I felt like I was there (also a possibility), or maybe because my pregnancy has made me a hormonal disaster (a REAL posibility! lol), but most likely because I feel like I've gotten to know you so well over the last couple years and know how much you and Ryan have been through and what amazing, loving, un-selfish people you are. It's just so incredible to see the two of you and how happy you are together. Love it, love it, love it You looked absolutley breathtaking!
  20. What to do? Just chat with your other preggy friends that can't sleep Mine is due to my crazy work schedule- I just can't switch back to days anymore- I just stay up all night every night now. It sucks. It's just your body preparing you to never sleep once Noah gets here. My normal suggestion would be a glass of wine, but since we can't go that route right now, I ditto the Tylenol PM. It's safe.
