To the ladies getting married in the Riviera

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I'm searching and searching the resorts and have norrowed my selection down to less than 10 that we are considering.

I would like to know:

1) What resort are you getting married at?

2) What made you decide those?

3) When is your wedding?

4) Did you have a hard time choosing too?

Thanks!!!!

hi there,

isn't this forum great?!? hopefully a lot of the ladies will respond, but answers to some of your questions can be found by searching the threads that already exist (i'm no expert, just sharing what i've picked up so far!). for example, there are a bunch of ROLL CALL threads for some of the popular resorts that has consolidated info on the brides that are getting married there and their dates. the decision process seems to be the biggest challenge for just about everyone so you're def not alone :) as for what made everyone's decision, if you read through the threads, many of the brides have been SO great at laying out the pros and cons of the different resorts and how they made the decision.

just wanted to share since sometimes posts like these don't get a ton of responses since the answers have already been posted elsewhere :)

happy planning!!!

I'm searching and searching the resorts and have norrowed my selection down to less than 10 that we are considering.

I would like to know:

1) What resort are you getting married at? Gran Bahia Principe Coba

2) What made you decide those? Price was in range we wanted for our guests. Golden apple rating with Apple Vacations. Great reviews on TripAdvisor.com. Newer hotel on same property with two sister hotels. Rooms all junior suites.

3) When is your wedding? Nov 7, 2008

4) Did you have a hard time choosing too? When I first started looking I had 2 other resorts picked out (Barcelo Colonial Beach and Dreams Tulum) but when I started pricing for 2008, those priced too high for me.

Thanks!!!!

I am getting married at the El Dorado Royale on October 11, 2008. It fit into our price range and gave multiple room options (ie Casitas). When we went down there we liked the resort alot. We visited Excellence. That resort is very nice and the w/c is awesome. However, we did not like the ceremony/reception options. We did not like that you had to join the Excellence club in order to get one of the better rooms. The w/c at Secrets Capri was not prompt in the reply's so we never got to tour that resort. I hope that helps. Which locations are you considering?

Hey there and welcome to the forum! I thought I would add some info about our wedding.

1) What resort are you getting married at? Dreams Tulum

2) What made you decide those? We REALLY wanted to have our wedding at Secrets Capri but the prices were a bit too high for our guests (>$1900 per person). We began looking at Dreams, which is in the same chain as Secrets but not Adults Only like Secrets.

3) When is your wedding? May 10, 2008

4) Did you have a hard time choosing too? YES!! There are sooo many nice resorts to choose from! We were engaged on Christmas 2006 and did not finalize our decision on a resort until May or so! It is really hard not to think about all of your guests, but remember to choose the resort that YOU TWO want to go to, not your guests! GOOD LUCK!!

i agree, choosing the resort is difficult! I had a handful I was considering.

1) What resort are you getting married at? Dreams Tulum

2) What made you decide those? Price range was good for everyone. Beautiful beach, great reviews, great wedding package, allows outside vendors with no extra charge. Tons of brides that have married there on this forum which helps so much in planning everything!

3) When is your wedding? June 27, 2008

4) Did you have a hard time choosing too? YES,we went back and forth several times! When we finally chose Dreams Tulum I felt like we made a great decision all around and we're very happy. Good luck in making your decision!

What resorts are you considering?

I'm already married, but I'm going to answer anyway :P

1) What resort are you getting married at? Barcelo Maya (we stayed on the Colonial side, but our guests stayed at all different parts of the resort...whatever part of the resort fit their budget)

2) What made you decide those? We had visited the year before and absolutely loved it...it's a beautiful resort, amazing beach, great service, great food, and the price was definately right. Also, with 4 different sections of the resort all in different price ranges it was great for all of our guests (from ones who are on a fairly tight budget right up to ones who were looking for a more upscale place to stay).

3) When is your wedding? March 27, 2007

4) Did you have a hard time choosing too? I think if I hadn't visited the resort prior I would have had a VERY hard time choosing - there are just so many beautiful resorts in the area!

Good luck with your planning!

I would like to know:

1) What resort are you getting married at? RIU Yucatan

2) What made you decide those? price, but there are other things we like. it's in the jungle and close very close to playa del carmen.

3) When is your wedding? july 11 08

4) Did you have a hard time choosing too? it was stressful, but there came a point where we stopped stressing and just made a decision. even if our resort doesn't have the fanciest of wedding stuff, at the end of the day we'll be married and on vacation with 40 people we love.

1) What resort are you getting married at? Paradisus Riviera Cancun

2) What made you decide those? WE went for a site visit, looked at Dreams Cancun, Grand Balladium, Bahia Principe, Grand Sirenis, and Paradisus. We loved the resort, the staff and the WC whom we met. They have private beach section for the ceremony and an outdoor reception spot which is a must for us!

3) When is your wedding? November 27, 2008

4) Did you have a hard time choosing too? We got engaged on August 3 and it took us almost 5 months to decide!

Please ask away about any of the resorts and the pros and cons.. happy to help!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
