We are paying for the wedding package offered by the RIU Palace Mexico resort, we will have a wedding coordinator, and hire an expensive trio to play music during the ceremony. So, is it common to tip the coordinator and the band? What have other brides done in the past?

Thanks for any help you can provide!

I do think most have tipped the WC and the band. I plan on brining a Chicago related gift for my DC (frango mints) and then maybe some perfume.

        Here is another thread...

Thank you all for your help! I am now worried...my man isn't going to like all this tipping. He is not much of a tipper unless someone goes out of their way or just does a great job. I'm the opposite I tip because my mom used to be a waitress and her tips meant lunch money...

What kind of gifts do people bring their WC??

Wow, love this thread! Our WC included all taxes and gratuities in her price for services that include her coordination, catholic ceremony, guitarist, trio during dinner, cake, flowers, and transportation. We are paying the photographer and restaurant separately. So, can you gals confirm this for me, I don't have to tip my WC or any of the vendors secured by her since it's included in the price. However, if we feel they did a stupendous job, we may give them an additional tip. Of course we'd tip our photog and restaurant. Did I get this right? Help!
                  Thanks ladies!!!
                  Susan :)

                    Emeline at the Hilton
                    Fun and Motivation

Also, what is the standard tip there? Is it teh same as US (18%-20%)?

From what I've read on tipping do's/don'ts from the Knot.com
Maye: gift if you are so inclined, but not usually a tip to WC
Florist: no tip but to person delivering flowers, $10 is appropriate
Cake Baker: no tip but to person delivering cake $10 per person
Photog: Optional (if you feel he/she was above and beyond the fee you can tip $25)
Musicians: Optional $25 per band member
                    Emeline at Hilton: no
Fun and Motivation (rentals): no, again tip $10 to delivery people

                    Hope this helps :-)
