don't panic about the weather! Whenever I've gone and it says thundershowers it was the most gorgeous days ever. It might rain for like an hour and then the sun comes out and it's all nice again.

Then, once I went where it rained on 4/7 days we were there and the stupid forecast kept calling for a sunny day the next day. Nope, it just kept on pouring.

Moral of the story, the forecast lies hahah. You'll be ok :D

I'm anal! But seriously it kept everything together and organized. A couple of my bins were double the size of shoe boxes but you got my drift. I found the jumbo sized ziplocks at dollarama.

I was a mess the month before and then a little more so the week before we left. The way you two are feeling is totally natural and par for the course. Once you leave for the airplane you will start to let that all go. The excitement takes over. Try to have faith in your WC and let it all go so you can enjoy your week and your day. Best advice I can give - let it go!!!

@@pddcmc Love the article you posted! I really identify with her first point of not marrying her best friend. Have you read "The Longest Date - life as a wife" by Cindy Chupak (one of the writers for Sex and the City), I think you would really enjoy it! I read it after I got engaged and loved it.

Sending you all the good weather vibes!! Your wedding will be gorgeous!

And the best part? There is wire at the top to help keep its shape, but the bag squishes flat = easy to pack

You ladies have just reaffirmed for me why I love being here. I'm sitting here with tears in my eyes because 3 of you are getting married very soon and it makes my heart happy!

@@pddcmc - that article you posted is so perfect! And most of the time so absolutely right! It's what brought me to tears. My first marriage was nothing like that article. Sometimes marriage isn't what she said. And sometimes if it isn't, you get a second chance at it. I got lucky and got the second chance. Then I got lucky again and made it through one of the "tough times" that she talks about. That's worth celebrating. And maybe even dancing in the rain for!

@@kimmyd2 I got it from BlissfullyModern on Etsy for $12.00. I'm not sure if the shop has more, but it's worth a look. I think I saw some others similar on ebay and googling "clam shell jewelry box" and "shell ring pillow"

@ Everyone, Thanks so much for all of the support, advice, laughs, virtual hugs, etc. I cannot being to express how thankful, grateful, truly happy, (and all of those other emotions) that I found BDW.com and connected with ya'll. Even though we don't 'really' "know" each other, you all have played such an important role in this crazy, stressful, fun, exciting, emotional roller coaster ride of wedding planning. I know that I will never forget this community of strong, wonderful women. I just want to thank all of your from the bottom of my heart - Thank you!!!
I'll be back to post my reviews and photos, but I just want to say thank you, again. And, I wish each and every one of you the very best!

And, now, to share what's been going on.

Friday - I had my last day of work. Oh man, talk about an emotional day. My 2 patients were so sick, just so, so sick. Sometimes it is just so hard to not get too emotionally involved and vulnerable. I just want to "fix" them. But, I made it through with my sanity, had a few really good laughs with some of my co-workers, and that really helped.

Saturday - WOW. Just, wow. Let me preface by saying - we  had our first meal @ 1730..and I ordered a "skinny" margarita with an extra shot. (Up until this last week or so, I'd say the last drink I had was a month ago, or so...I'm just not very big on alcohol. But, hey, if a little liquid encouragement gets me through this week, bring it on).
So, back to Saturday....

We got up at 0730, showered, and was out of the door by 0900. We first went to our local grocery store to pick up a few "emergency" things. From there, we headed to my bank and purchased Traveler's Checks to pay the resort. Now, this took a while because hardly anyone accepts TCs anymore, and even more so, hardly any banks carry them or sell them, so it took a while for the bakers to get all of the formalities taken care of. By 1100, we went to the FI's bank and did a wire transfer for the photographer. After that, we went shopping. Goodness gracious...that took forever. From there, we went to Target and picked up all of the travel-size items that we needed. By this time, it was 1715, we were worn out. So, we decided to go to a sit down restaurant and just debrief. After dinner, we went to the Guitar Center and the FI bought a mixer (Don't ask for details, he's the music genius lol) We came home around 1900 and relaxed with the dogs. Well, of course I couldn't relax...so I went into the spare bedroom and started "packaging" things to be packed.

Saturday (today) - We are going to go buy the hard-shell luggage. After that, I am going to start packing (Yeah, I know... we are leaving in 3 days....). At 1530, I'm going to get my nails done. From there, I'm sure I'll come home and keep packing, cleaning, doing laundry, etc etc etc etc...ZZZzzzzzzzzzzz............... COME ON MEXICO and WEDDING DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

I really liked the article you posted too. I kept it in mind as we were working on the script for the ceremony this weekend.

Ok, so I forgot to explain what I was doing here HAHA (oh, that wedding brain...)

So, I tried cutting off the hanging tabs at the top, but this caused the cardboard cover to fall off (which is not what I want. I want each first aid kit to look unopened and never been used - because that's what they are). I used clear packing tape to tape down the tab. In fact, this worked better than I had planned because I was able to put 12 first aid kits in each gallon-sized ziplock bag. I then used 3 pieces of clear packing tape at the top of each gallon bag, in hopes of being a deterrent (but, hopefully, I am just being paranoid and the tape won't need to serve as any purpose except a pain in the butt when we open them).

The Packing Begins...

post-277418-0-84390100-1428867116_thumb.jpg

This is a piece of hard-shell luggage.

I was to stack two layers of cups on one side of the suitcase (3 cups down and 5 cups across) = 30 cups

On the right side of the suitcase, once you unzip the thin cover, the dimensions are exactly the same.
We are bringing all 50 cups in case a few get broken. I am also going to pack the rest first aid kits in this suit case. (& anything else that will fit nicely)

TSA-approved locks

A red band will appear if TSA opens the lock.

*I [still] have to go to Kinko's to print the Welcome Letters, table numbers, and place cards*

NOTE: I hope that brides who are stressed out and feel like they are behind come across my posts, because I feel like my experience could make them feel a little better. We leave the 15th and we are STILL scattering to get things done because well, what. This is procrastination at it's finest.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
