A little thing I like to call "Operation Wedding Dress" (aka, my dress is too small... but it won't be soon!)

Thanks! I have always eaten healthy for the most part but I guess you could say I tuned that up a bit. I also measure and weigh foods but have pretty much gotten that down now. I also bought a child size plate and use that or a salad plate to eat off. It all comes down to portion control for me, breads I can always over do it so yummy! I also go to the gym and lift weights

So I went for my first dress fitting today. I was so happy when I put it on and saw the way it looked. I've lost 15 lbs and ordered the dress a size smaller than what I was wearing at that time and the same size as I had on when I purchased the dress.  I was soo happy when I could step into it and pull it up, I couldn't do that before.  I came out of the dressing room and was so excited and started taking some pictures and then the seamstress showed up.  In a matter of minutes she deflated the high I was on.  She proceeded to tell me that the dress is too small, the underlay is bunching too much at my hips/waist.  She was adamant that I either let it out or come back in two weeks but that I need to lose another 10 lbs in order for the dress to fit properly.  I was so devastated and upset that I left and made an appointment to come back in two weeks.  And I came home to cry to my fiance.  So I need to know what you think. And please be honest.  I'm going to continue doing what I have been with my diet and exercise but I don't think it will be feasible for me to lose 10 lbs in two weeks.  And I don't know if its really necessary.

side note: don't mind the cap sleeves, I'm going to have them shortened to sleeves instead.

Its hard to tell in the photos. The dress looks beautiful on you. I'd say do what you can in the next two weeks... but I don't think 10lbs is feasible in 2 weeks time... its really only healthy to lose 1-2lbs per week... and even if you do, will it be feasible to keep it off until the wedding? So do your best in the next two weeks and if it needs to be let out, its not that big of a deal, you want the dress to look perfect on you and I am sure that's what the seamstress wants too, I am sure she didn't mean to hurt your feelings, her job is make the dress fit the best possible and make you look the best possible. She is the professional, I'd trust her.

popping in to add my support - I can't really tell it in the photos either. the most important thing is how YOU feel in it. does it feel tight? can you move/dance? does it lay flat for you? if you are comfortable...then don't do anything else to the dress, keep up what you've been doing to lose the 15 and just go for it.

I personally think the dress look s amazing on you, and looking at the photos before reading I didnt see anything wrong with, nor do i see it now.   Like the other girls said, Does it feel comfortable on you ? do you think you will be comfortable wearing it all night. ?

And I agree 10 lbs in two weeks is 1. not healthy and you will only be losing water weight and lean muscle and 2. is just stupid for her to even say

I say keep doing what you are doing and if it has to be let out then no big deal  you are still going to look amazing either way

I think the dress looks very nice on you....but it goes by how you feel in it. There's no way to drop 10lbs in two weeks and for it to be healthy nor do I think you need to drop 10lbs. You look great

I did it! I ran the New York City Marathon (26.2 miles or 42.2kms) on Sunday! I finished in 4:22 hrs. My legs are KILLING me now, but each day since the race has been getting a bit better. I ate like a pig on Monday after the race, and now need to get my diet back on track, now that I'm not training for the marathon any more!

My legs need a rest this week, but I think next week we're going to dive back in to Insanity - and we'll be four weeks out from our departure to Mexico!

    • Hi Everyone, So, I was cleaning out my closet and realized that I never sold off my extra wedding OOT bag stuff from our wonderful DW.   46 Daily Spanish for Dummies 30 Pool colored OOT fabric bags - approximately 13in x 13in. They lay flat.  I used them for our wedding and they were perfect for everything we needed to fit in each bag. There’s a slight shade variation in the group; I’m guessing some were cut from a different bolt of fabric.  They are also a little wrinkled from storage and will probably be wrinkled from shipping. I have three additional ones, but they somehow got something on them (likely toddler related). If needed, I can try to wash it out and send those as well.
    • I’m getting married in six months to my foreign girlfriend. I was advised by a friend that one of the things I need to do before saying I do is to get a prenuptial agreement. Basically it’s supposed to protect my assets and properties in case my relationship with my future wife goes down the drain. I don’t know though if this is an acceptable practice when marrying Kiev ladies. I don’t want to do it if it would be insulting on her end. I need advice on this. Please help me.
    • So we are currently looking for an all inclusive resort for the wedding. We have 60 guests and found all the Dreams resorts as options and all of them gave us a quote and discounted price since it’s off season etc. Resorts in Punta Canta gave us a reasonable price, Dominicus gave us a really good deal then La Romana Resort and Spa gave us their regular price and so hard to negotiate. Will someone tell us how special is this resort that they won’t give us a good discount when all my guests are staying in their resort for 5-8 days. We are bringing $$$ in their resort and not give us a discount?  What is so special with this resort?  Can somebody recommend a beautiful resort?
