Wedding colors

I love the colors!!!!

We did a palette of blues. The resort decor package was Aqua but I knew right away I did not want Aqua dresses for the girls. The men wore Navy blue suits because my hubby chose the James Bond suit from Skyfall as his suit. For the girls, we chose Bill Levkoff Teal dresses which were not teal at all- more like a Caribbean blue. My sisters were supposed to wear the same dresses, as they were originally bridesmaids, but they dropped from my wedding and then rejoined when it was too late to get them the same dresses. They bought off the rack at a store called Camille La Vie. My maid of honor who owns a custom mens clothiers business chose the ties for the guys and it brought everything together. We kept the same color scheme for our AHR. It was just cool blues. Felt breezy. At the reception we had Aqua tablecloths with Navy blue chair ties and peacock feathers in the chair bows. I love everything about this! Colors, seersucker, printed dresses, wedding cake topper. So different but still beautiful.

I had my wedding at Hacienda Cocina Y Cantina at Cabo San Lucas last July 13, 2013. Color wise the theme was different shades of blue, coral, and orange. It was difficult to have my bridesmaid picture my color theme at first, because of different shades of accent color. Plus my bridesmaid were wearing printed dresses and the guys were wearing seer sucker suits.Below are the pictures that shows my wedding color theme. I had my wedding at The Royal Playa del Carmen. We decided on blue and ivory with highlights of bright pink for our wedding. My inspiration came from the girls dresses. I LOVED the color. I didn't want to overdo it though, so we had the guys wear a complimentary light blue. I had a lot of ivory and sparkle in the decor, and the only pink I added was the flowers and my shoes. It made for a perfect statement. I tried to keep it pretty simple, so the bold colors helped make things pop even though we didn't over decorate.

It can be subtle hints. It doesn't have to overtake the colors. I have seen some nice hydrangeas in that color. Picture those with other purple flowers. You can also have the guys be the ones to wear the lime green ties while the girls wear the purple. Think of the lime as the accent and it will be used sparingly and I think it will work.

I love lime green! I wanted it to be in my wedding colours but no one else seemed to think that was a good idea... I agree with EV that if you use the lime green as an accent and the purple as the main that it will looks awesome! You may also want to think about peacock inspired weddings.. they use the purple, lime green, and a little bit of turquoise... either way you'll be able to pull it off beautifully!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
