OFFICIAL NOW Jade Wedding Thread

Are you having a legal ceremony or symbolic?  If it's legal you'll have to be in Mexico for a certain amount of time before getting married, so you'd have to do the Thursday wedding.

Otherwise, it's nice to get the wedding over with so you can stop stressing and enjoy more of your time... but guests being able to take less time off of work is definitely a factor and a good reason for a Thursday wedding.

We are getting married at the Now Jade in October and are having a morning ceremony.  I've read these threads and haven't notice anyone else having the actual ceremony in the morning.  Any past brides done the morning ceremony?

My schedule is as follows: 7:30 a.m. Hair appointment -  10:30 a.m. Ceremony - Group Pictures - Buffet Lunch

I figured everyone would still have the majority of the afternoon free to hit the beach, pool or whatever.

Later in the evening the adults are going to meet at one of the bars for cocktails and dancing.

As a side note:  I originally booked the Your Moments package and then later tried to upgrade, but Pilar emailed me back and said they had 3 weddings that day and I might not get my choices for the ceremony location and reception location, so I decided to just keep it simple with the Your Moments package.  We have 24 people attending and doing the add-ons ala carte.

Someone may or may not have already asked/answered this question, but has anyone seen or personally done a dj/dancing on the oceanfront terrace? I am definitely not paying extra $$ for a dance floor, and am guessing the flooring will be a deck, which would probably work? Also, will there be room for a dj/dancing with a long table group of appx. 30 people? If you have any input that would be great, thanks!

I think you can only do the buffet if you have 50 people or more. I've never heard of anybody that did a plated dinner and a buffet though so I'm not sure about that.

Wish I could help! This is exactly why I chose the Pergola instead. I really want to wear heels. Hopefully you'll think of something!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
