OFFICIAL NOW Jade Wedding Thread

Recommended Posts

Yes, apparently they are! There's quite a few brides from other threads on this forum who have ordered stickers from them with very positive reviews. I haven't seen them yet (had them shipped to the USA) but I'll be picking them up next weekend! I had tried to price it out for a DIY project. I realized it would probably cost me a ton in supplies and then I'd spend hours fumbling with my printer making sure they were all lined up properly. 50 - 3" stickers cost us $30 on etsy. We bought the "To have and to hold, to keep your drink cold" ones. Heheheh
That's same ones I ordered.

Also, does anyone have the dinner options available so I can see?

On a separate note, for brides that are doing OOT bags, where did you get the totes from and what type of things did you include? Also where did you purchase the contents from?

Hi Emma,

I just sent out an email to all of my guest asking for their choice (I send a monthly update email) because I had already sent out their STDs/invites. You can also do an RSVP on most wedding websites if you set one up which could also work for dinner choice. I have attached the dinner options but can also send them to you if you PM me your email.

I bought totes with printing from discount mugs (http://www.discountmugs.com). Great price and turned out really nice ( I went for cheaper grocery bag style because I had to buy so many but they can still double as a pool/beach bag). I also bought travel mugs from discount mug and they turned out amazing. I am completely impressed with quality and design. I can't wait to give them to our guest.

The rest of the OOT bag stuff (first aid kit contents, playing cards, lotion, note pads, pens etc. I bought from the dollar store, Dollarama. I also am buying big packages of advil, immodium, etc. and using small bags (dollar store) and labels I got from this forum.

Hope this helps. If you have any other questions just let me know.

Trisha

I was wondering if the bags on VistaPrint were of good quality. I'm either going to use those or just get brown Kraft bags and large oval label stickers for the sides.

Have you tried Dollar Tree for your tumblers? Another bride on here said she raided her local stores for about 40 I think. There is also a website called Discount Mugs or something like that for tumblers too. Hope that helps!

I ordered our bags from Oriental Trading Company.  They are covered in hibiscus flowers in bright colors.  I didn't wanna get anything personalized because no one is really gonna use a bag with our names on it.  I think they were 12 for $8.  They are big enough to use for a pool/beach bag.  I ordered small change purses from DH Gate and put it as our "hangover kit", including tylenol, motrin, bandaids, pony tails holders and imodium AD.  For the medicines, I bought a big bottle and put about 10 of each in their own little baggies labeled with Mg's.  We also have drink coozies (from Oriental trading...50 of them for $15), aloe, gum, chap stick for the guys and a colored lip gloss for the girls, id holders that are going to be used as room key holders, antibacterial hand gel and I think a couple other things that I can't think of right now.

Did most people bring their own linens and chair ties? I've read some reviews that stated people brought their own and it was less expensive- where are they buying them from?

Where did people buy the hanging ball type lights that others have hung from the ceiling in the bamboo room? Did they have actual lights in them or does the ceiling lights light them up?

So many things to start thinking about...!

Yes, I purchased my own table runners and chair bows from EFavorMart which is online site...very inexpensive.  We ordered our lanterns on Just-artifacts.com and they were very wonderfully priced as well.  If you google coupon codes for the sites, you can normally find some sort of a discount.  For our lanterns, we are not getting the lights for them.  There is enough lighting up about them (in the bamboo room) that you shouldn't need them.

For the guest OOT bag- I ordered a sample canvas tote bag from Vista Print and it was good quality and you can have any sort of design or image printed on the front. It was also really inexpensive!  I bought several groupon deals for vistaprint where I paid $30 for $70 worth of product and they were also having an online sale so I was able to order each bag for less than $5.  I think they normally run around $15-18 per bag.

I am looking to order plastic tumbler type cups for guests to be able to refill drinks/ etc in their own glass (and be able to have larger drinks!).  Has anyone bought these for their OOT bags? If so... where did you find them?  I was hoping to be able to have each one personalized if possible.

if you have a dollar general close to you, you can find them for  2.50 a piece, dollar tree has them but not tooo many in clear. because I was soo tired of looking for enough after a while, I just ordered them online at ebay

For those that have gotten married already at our resort, are the appetizers passed around or sit on a table?  Also, Our ceremony starts at 6:00, so what time would everything else start?  7:00-8:00 for cocktail hour? Or would cocktail hour start after the ceremony and last until 8:00 when our reception in the bamboo room is supposed to start?  How does this work?

I posted my review of Del Sol Photography, who we used for our June 5th, 2013 wedding and TTD.  Absolutely loved working with them and the photographs are amazing (there are a few posted in the review).  My only regret is not hiring them for longer on the wedding day--I wish I had used them for our salon photos rather than resort photographer--the Del Sol photos are just so stunning.  We needed to change our budget to work Del Sol into our plans, but I am so incredibly pleased that we did!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
