Hi everyone! I am back too! (less than a week ago we returned) I have yet to write my review as I just can't seem to get the motivation to sit down and do so but will soon. Anyway, I wanted to give you all my 2 cents on the diarrhea issue. There were a lot of people in our group who had intestinal issues at Now Jade, including me. Mine only lasted a day and was never horrible but I took immodium right away and just 2 pills the one time and was fine the rest of the trip and at our honeymoon resort (royal playa del carmen) as well. My fiancé never got sick, but probably a good half the group of 30 people were having problems. I drank the water in the restaurants unless it had the smell (you'll know when it's tap water believe me!) and brushed my teeth with the water but never swallowed any water while brushing/swallowing and my fiancé did the same as I. I swear the intestinal issue is coming from the pool bar glasses in that non sanitary bucket of grossness. Everyone who spent a great deal of time there drinking mixed drinks (i.e.) not from a can) got a little sick. It was never anything that isn't to be expected when traveling but still not fun. Germs in an resort like that can spread like wildfire and I honestly feel like that's where it came from. We mentioned it to them when we checked out so hopefully they will do something about it if enough people speak up.

That sounds unpleasant! I hope that everything else happened according to your plan and that you had a wonderful, blissful wedding and honeymoon!

For brides who got married by the Fountain area please help me! I'm getting married April 12/14 and I'm a little nervous with my choice to get marred by the fountain area. I have not been able to find any pictures or comments about this location as everyone seems to get married by the pergola. Please help and reassure my that it will be a great location. Also I was wondering if the photography package in the Eternity package will be enough or should I get more?

One more question!

If we did not book preferred, does this mean we do not get upgraded to preferred? I thought the preferred upgrade was included in the package so we did not get book preferred, but now I am confused.

Even if you don't get upgraded to a room on the preferred side you will still have all of the perks of being preferred. We had booked an ocean front room and when we arrived they put us in an ocean front room on the regular side but told us we had all of the perks of being preferred. Honestly, the preferred side and the perks weren't anything great in my opinion. Don't stress about it too much; they always seem to give the bride and groom the upgrade.

Hi AshleeB

Welcome to the forum...  :o)

I'm also getting married at the fountain. Here are some of the pics I have of the fountain... I think it looks really nice personally... I've seen a few videos of the Pergola and the Beach and it seems quite windy so I am happy with my choice. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask.

What is everyone picking for appetizers?  I am trying to figure out what to pick but have no idea.
I'm having trouble with this too. I would normally go with the seafood options, but I was just in mexico at another Now resort and the seafood (ceviche, shrimp cocktail, etc) wasn't anything like I'm used to hear in the US. I think I'll play it safe and go basic. Maybe the quesedillas, tostadas, cheese and crackers, etc.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
