AH!  That just reminded me that I need to do my Tulum photo tour!  I have pictures looking in all directions from the gazebo.  I will try and get those up ASAP so you can see the path.  You will walk through the "jungle" and that's when your fiance will see you.  Very pretty!!

As for what to look for during a site visit, definitely the three resorts.  See which one you'd like to stay at, which one you want to get married at, and then try the restaurants that are available (if you can).  So Coba - portofino, Akumal - Frutos del mar and um... the one attached to it that I'm having a brain fart and can't thin of!  Tulum - gran torguga and tequila.

Check out the pool reception areas.  Akumal is the main pool directly across from the lobby.  Coba is the Jacuzzi pool by Portofino.  Tulum, I don't actually know!  Ha!

I'm glad you like it!  Hopefully it'll get your guests super excited for the awesome time they will have!

I will be photographing a wedding there in August, so if anyone has specific pictures they'd like to see added to any of the three photo tours, just shoot me an email at [email protected]

Thanks!

Hi everyone!

Just over 70 days to go for....starting to have to get down to the nitty gritty of the planning. So I will be asking you all for your help more regularly. Has anyone else had trouble reaching Eugenia lately? She has generally been great about getting back to me (at the latest, in a week), but I have not heard from her in almost 20 days!

Also, speaking of excursions, does your booking for the excursion typically include transportation?

Thank you all for your responses. It is so helpful to read these message boards. It provides a huge amount of relief to know that there are others experiencing the same things that you are.

Angie :)

Hi Angie!

Yup, the excursions will typically include transportation.  The only exception is if you book it yourself.  For example, my husband and I booked the Xel-ha experience online prior to leaving.  You get a pretty good discount, or at least at that time we did, if you prepaid online.  So since I didn't book the excursion through the tour operators we had to get our own transportation.  However, Xel-ha is just a hop skip and a jump away from the resort so we took the public vans that run along the highway for $2 each.  We had to walk from the highway to the entrance, but it was a pretty short walk and definitely worth the money we saved.

Hey ladies! I'm officially excited to finally say I am booked for my wedding in tulum with 66 guests and counting. I am booked for dec 7th 2012. Anyone else going to be there around the same time? Unfortunately with many airline errors/screw ups I was previously booked as an azul sensatori bride but with pricing of the wrong year being the main error I made the switch over to tulum and couldn't be happier. I'm currently booked at the hammock location for my ceremony but I was curious if tulum had a beach area ( or something like an arch) other then the palpadas area. I'd love to hear back from anyone. Have a wonderful day ladies!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
