Post your centerpieces here

Recommended Posts

This is my newest 'project'. I am so glad I read that someone got stuff from Ikea. I am from CO, where there is no Ikea, so I always kind of forget it exists! But I went to the site, and I'm going in a couple of weeks to get these!! I'll use the votives (only 49 cents each!) throughout, and the taller vases w/ water and floating candles (orange and pink, $1.99 each). With these vases, you can group them together to make a circle, wavy line, or just use them alone. That, mixed with some of the resorts bouquets I think will be great!

Also note: the vases are available in a blue and purple variation as well, in case anyone is interested.

these ideas are amazing, thank you! now i have to make some decisions!

did anyone get married in mexico? i've heard it can be windy, my resort don't recommend candles.

also, i heard you can't easily get hold of lemons in Mexico, as they have lemons, but they are the green kind (limes).

my theme is lemon and navy, so i'm having a think. definitely want starfish involved too, as they were the theme of our invites etc :)

I saw this online too & I think it looks great! just wondering, are you planning to bring everything with you? Most of the vases I've found have weighed a ton!

I am finding that to be a problem too.. everything I want to bring either weighs a ton or is really fragile.

I have decided on a tealight glass trio sitting on metal/silver charger plates with white table clothes and black table runners. Then if I can find it, hot pink (shiny) confetti around the charger plate.

I will post a picture once I get it set up and figure out how!

Here is what we are thinking...the pictures aren't the best but you will get the idea. Each frame will either have a picture of us at one of the places we lived (i was a travel RN so we traveled alot) or a quote about love from a famous movie

My mom wanted to see it all set up with her plates, the starfish is being attached to the favors

Also, I will surround them with bright pink flower petals to add some color before the sun goes down.
PVBride, I LOVE this idea with the greenery!

Ok stupid question, how do you get the flowers to sink? I have square glass vases and I want to do the drowning flowers. Any way to do this without using floating candles to hold them down? Thanks!

    • I have stayed at Dreams La Romana and Dreams Dominicus.  The two resorts are very different in style and decor. A few comparison points are below and fact sheets are attached for both.   Both resorts are approx 45 minutes from Punta Cana airport, close proximity to Saona Island, Catalina Island and Altos de Chavon. Top championship golf courses in the Caribbean are just minutes away including Teeth of the Dog, Dye Fore, The Links and La Estancia – all designed by world-famous Pete Dye. Restaurants are similar at both resorts.  Both offer the Explorers Club for Kids.  Dreams Dominicus  Brand new resort and in 2016 488 rooms (however additional construction was underway) More contemporary style & decor Good beach area Rooms were very nice Preferred Club located in main lobby and adjacent to main pool & beach front Food was good Center plaza area with nighttime entertainment Main lobby is small, but outdoor bar off lobby is nice Dreams La Romana Originally built in 2003 & opened as Dreams La Romana in 2008 756 rooms Recently renovated and new preferred club adults only lounge & pool added  Rooms are more traditional Caribbean decor Grounds are very lush and tropical Good beach area food was good    Dreams Dominicus fact sheet.pdf Dreams La Romana fact sheet.pdf
    • My sister has done it but with the destination wedding, only super close family members and friends came since it was expensive and farther. It was great though.
