i am missing stuff i am sure.. but with it being just a week away i feel like a big mess of a scatterbrain right now!! hahah i wish i started planning this thread a while ago as, it would be a lot more organized and i wouldnt have forgotten anything.. A question regarding the Civil and Symbolic Ceremony

 

How many of you plan (or have already) gotten legally married in Mexico?

Are any of you planning on llegally getting married in Canada and then just having a symbolic ceremony down there?

 

We had planed on getting married here in Canada and having the Symbolic Ceremony but my resort is still charging us $600 for a minister even though we will already legally be married. I think that is kind of a rip off and now we are considering just getting married down there since we have to pay for the minister down there.

 

Any input/tips would be greatly appreciated

Hey Mizpriya,

 

I originally had my heart set on AS but the cheapest price my TA gave me was $1650 per person leaving from Toronto. When deciding to do the destination wedding thing my FI and I decided that we wouldn't make our guests pay anymore than $1500, so that is why I booked at a different resort. Have you looked at the AS thread on here? Very helpful info re: trip costs and wedding packages. The one thing that most AS brides complain about is the outside vendor fee. If you choose to outsource for a photographer or anything else they make you pay a significant fee.

Hey ladies, sorry I had never even thought of that because we have a US postal address that we use for shipping certain stuff.  I have heard of the company that they recommend on their site and I did some checking into it and it seems legit.  The only downfall maybe would be additional shipping fees.  I haven't placed an order yet because my date is still a little too far off

Yea i am looking at the Gran Caribe Real Cancun. We are the same...we set a budget and told our guests it would not cost more than $1500. And the Gran Caribe seems to be under budget from what I've seen so far. Where did you decide to go?

Only in the complimentary pakg, and we do not qualify for that package.

 

I know you are looking at the gran Caribe, but it does seem like there are alot of hidden costs ( someone else complained about this before as well)

Hello ladies! I got married at Dreams Palm Beach in Punta Cana in Oct. 2011. My apologies for not getting on here with reviews and feedbacks---but it's been madness since my return.
