@@vanessav53, I am so happy this helped you.  I just posted some pics as well, in case that is any further help.

You are going to LOVE all of the vendors you chose.  They are pro's and are going to make your day incredible.  Are you going to do a TTD shoot with Anel and Jacob as well?

We were sent a music form to fill out prior to getting to Mexico and we willed it out, however, Carlos also came to meet us at the resort the day before our wedding to go over music and speeches.  He had great recommendatsion and we are happy we listened to him.  We weren't picky with the songs that were played, we just asked him to make it feel like a club and to keep people on the dance floor ... and that's exactly what he did!  I think he played every genre of music out there (minus polka, LOL) and all of our guests loved it.  We asked him to read the crowd and also take requests from guests.  This worked out perfectly.

We were quoted for the taco bar as well (I think it was $15 per person) and decided it was too far out of our budget.  I fell in love with the guacamole at the resort and asked if we could do a nacho or chip bar, and that's what Ramon came back with.  I am so happy we did this.  It was a nice way to cap off the night.  OMG, I could totally go for that guac right about now!!  How many guests are you having at your wedding?  I would suggest ordering for only 1/4 or 1/2 of them to save some money ... plus it's a shame for all that food to go to waste.  I wanted to take it all back to my room, LOL.

@@gannonham what does that cute little wooden sign say on the beach ? Where did you get it from? How did you pack it?

Here's a link to a photo of the sign closer up:  http://s1289.photobucket.com/user/gannonham/media/sign_zps34c54c2b.jpg.html

It was a bridal shower gift from my BFF.  Her and her Dad made it for us and constructed it so it could be folded down (hinges) and taken apart (Allen key), so it was super easy to pack in our luggage.  We just wrapped it in a towel to avoid it getting damaged.  Isn't it awesome?!  I told her she could start a business and sell them.

@gannonham- Two questions:

1. Was the reef bar only open for preferred guests or all guests? The app says it's only for preferred guests but the website looks like it's in the main area?

2. Did they serve top shelf liquor at the wedding? Did you have to ask specifically for top shelf? I heard you have to kind of ask them a few times to make sure they serve top shelf stuff.

did you do anything the night before? A welcome bbq?

Ladies- Does anyone have a map of the resort that I can print out for my welcome bags? The one on the website is a "flash" map so It's not static and I can't print. Hope one of you ladies can help!!!

I believe this is for preferred guests only, however, I never went to check it out.  We spent our time at the main pool.

2. Did they serve top shelf liquor at the wedding? Did you have to ask specifically for top shelf? I heard you have to kind of ask them a few times to make sure they serve top shelf stuff.  I guess this depends on what you consider top shelf.  We had asked about getting Grey Goose vodka, Crown Royal whisky and El Jimador tequila, but the cost wasn't worth the upgrade in our opinion.  I can't recall exactly what liquors they used, but most were common to what you would be served in Canada or the U.S.A.  My wedding coordinator was able to send me the list in advance, so you should be able to request this.

did you do anything the night before? A welcome bbq?  We did our rehearsal dinner the night before and opted to have it in the buffet to avoid paying the cost per head to have it in a restaurant.  They reserved us a private spot in the buffet and we were pretty removed from other diners, which as nice.

@@gannonham...I saw your wedding while I was there and it was so nice!!!!!

FYI...If your wedding colors are sapphire blue, I donated all of my wedding satin chair sashes, satin napkins, silver picture frames, diamond table scatter, faux candles, to the wedding center for the use of other brides....just ask Juan Carlos, I left him 2 large boxes of wedding decorations.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
