@@JaxBchKay - did you talk to someone at the resort about the webcast and they said they don't have any options? We just found out today that my fiancés father cannot fly down to the wedding :( He had a bike accident two weeks ago and cracked his ribs and punctured a lung so doctors said he cannot fly for 4-6 weeks. We are so upset and I of course feel horrible for my fiancé.
I wanted to see if we can Skype or webcast or something the ceremony so my future hubby feels like his dad is apart of this with us! I emailed the wedding coordinator even to see if he had any ideas. I feel so bad :(

We are a little over 5 1/2 months away and I feel like there isn't much left to do...that is freaking me out because it seems like I should be crazy busy doing wedding stuff. I feel like I must be forgetting something! Too soon to send the planning form in. Everything else is about done! Did anybody have the resort do menus for them? I am wondering how much they charge for that.

Hello Ladies- Did anyone buy their own liquor off site and bring to the resort? I wanted grey goose for the wedding ( that's what I like to drink) and the wedding coordinator said it's $150 plus tax for a 700ml bottle ( which is a SMALL BOTTLE) that just seems absolutely outrageous and I refuse to pay that. I wasn't sure if there was a service or anything that I can order and can deliver to resort, etc.

Let me know.

Zeman,

I totally felt like you, but as I'm realizing being only 29 days out from my wedding is they really do everything for you done there. I sent in my form 2 months ago as I was excited too. But I just focused on the little things we are bringing down with us, but realize they do everything for us... the food, flowers, liquor, decore, photos and so forth. Hang in there.

@@zeman321 - DO NOT WORRY! I know it seems weird but things wont get busy with the resort or the vendors until 45 days out! I am 2.5 weeks until the wedding and now things are crazy but prior to this I really was in a lull. I would say work on what you can now ( OOT bags, ordering other things you are bringing down, etc.)

ALso when you ask about having the resort do the menus for you what do you mean? Do you mean a physical paper menu? I would assume they would overcharge you for that. I bet vistaprint could do something nice for a good price? I am not having menus. People had to order their entrée on their RSVP card beforehand so they know what they are getting. As for appetizers, salads, etc. I just figured it wasn't a big deal and I didn't have time to create them. OOOPS!

Just trying to decide if it's worth it to do menus or not. We aren't giving a choice because certain people ( his mother!) would swear she odered something else! So nobody gets a choice  to nip that in the bud! Have ordered and recieved everything for OOT bags, favors and decorations, so I guess I'll just relax for a bit!

They do jack up the prices.  I had the hotel order Johnnie Walker Gold and they are charging us 135 p/bottle which is about 40 more than what yuo can buy it for here.  Would you consider goignt o a liquor store in Mexico?

The resort isn't too far from Puerto Morelos.  There would definitely be a liquor store there.  Walking would take a bit of time so you would probably want to hire a taxi.   My husband went into town with his family and needed a large van.  It was 70$usd round trip for the 8 of them.  I am sure you could negotiate a better price if it didn't require a van.  You could save yourself the headache of worrying about it if you order from the resort, but if you plan on going into town you could save some money.  If you wanted to go into Playa Del Carmen or Cancun, hit up a Sams club, Costco, Walmart or the MEGA grocery store, those places should have decent selection.  Hope that helps!  I remember Mega having a large selection of liquor, but I don't know if Grey Goose or Johnny Walker were available.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
