Hi Joda, Stunning photos! I am getting married at the Now Sapphire on July 2nd and also am having a long table. We are going to also use a burlap runner, but have not been able to get the table measurements. Did you order them yourself or did the hotel take care of that? Thank you!!
Sorry for the late reply, just got back from our Honeymoon. Thanks about the pictures, I love them. I first asked the hotel if I could rent one and they quoted me $300 - yikes! I ended up ordering one from save on crafts, it was 30 feet for $11. After I ordered it, I read some bad reviews on the company, but I had no issues.

Hi All Now Sapphire Brides! I was finially able to confirm my date of February 14, 2013!! YAY

Anyway I trying to get details on group rates so i can send out my save the dates, but am having a hard time hearing back... the amount the travel agent quoted was more then i was expecting and i was thinking that my guests could just book through the hotel directly! Has anyone done this?? Any information on the requirements for a group booking would be amazing, and if you could share the group rate you received!

Thanks Ladies!

Thanks Amy!!!!! I was able to get a quote through a travel agent, but it was much higher then i expected... i hate to ask but what approximately did your guests pay per person (if you don't mind me asking)
Jennifer, I assume because you are from Canada you are looking at the 7 night packages including flights? For us, the price was $1659 from Montreal, and $1760 from Saskatoon, including all taxes. This was also for the Tropical view room. What were you quoted?

Thanks Joda,

We were quoted just over $2100 for 7 nights including flight... did you use a travel agency?

I found what worked best for us was that we used the travel agent to get us a good group rate on the rooms and then had people book their own flights using orbitz or kayak.  Orbitz has Price Assurance so if the price went down they are supposed to send you a check for the difference.

I used Blue Petal Destination Weddings (although my travel agent is now working for another company, but still specializing in weddings). If you want I can PM you her contact info. She checked basically all Canadian companies to get the best rate for us, and there was a big range in the prices.

Have you also compared with sites like redtag.ca to see what they are quoting?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
