I had a similar problem last week when I went to send out my luggage tags. The first time I went they weighed them and told me they were the standard rate of 0.52 cents. Well, when I stamped them all, and went back to send them, the new person told me that they are thicker than a standard envelope and I had to pay $1.10 each. So, I had to buy more stamps and they look so stupid because each one has 2 0.52 stamps and a 0.6 stamp on them. Oh well, they went out, but I was so mad.

I am so glad it was there mistake and you did not have to pay more, its not fun.

AW! All I kept thinking was I was going to have to buy new boxes and waste $90 worth of stamps. I didn't really have any more room for stamps. I already had two 90cents and a 1cent stamp. My labels were in the middle of the box..

I'm so glad they figured it out.. but now I keep thinking I'm going to get some of them returned as insuffient postage.. can you imagine??!!

What kind of envelopes did you use to send out your luggage tags? I did hear someone talking about their thicker package costing more.

I guess for the girls that aren't there yet, take a protocal of your final project to the post office before purchasing stamps.

Holy crap - I TOTALLy would have cried if that was me.

Before I sent my STD's, I had them measured at the PO, not because of the weight, but because the size was weird (they were square shaped.) Turns out they cost $0.58 - no problem. So I ordered cool stamps from stamps.com with a pic of the Cabo Arc on them - so cute. Then, I ended up taking them to the PO and asked if they can put them through without having to put that big ugly black PO stamp over my cute Cabo stamps. Well, what do the morons at the PO do, then end up putting a PO strip OVER my stamp, so you couldn't see my stamp at all - I was SOOOO pissed. When my mom got her STD card you couldn't even see my cute stamp. She tried to make me feel better by saying that they probably all didn't go out that way, but I know they did. I was so mad!!!!

The thing is I took in exactly what I was mailing out. I guess for some reason she did not think about thickness, because she just weighed them and said 52 cents and then sold me the stamps. So, even though I brought exactly what I was mailing out, they still told me the wrong amount.

Thank goodness it was the scale!

My STD's I had to get more postage for b/c they told me I could use postcard stamps and then when I went to mail them out they said they we re1/4" too big. Thank God I didn't just put them in the mailbox! Since they were postcards they never would have reached anyone OR been returned to me.

Good thing you hand carried them in and got it straightened out as well!!!

I would have started crying for sure! That's terrible!

If you don't mind Angela can I ask your mom to see your finished project once she gets hers?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
