Hi Ladies, just checking in since we've been quiet lately.

How is everyone's planning going?  This weekend is my FSIL baby shower and I am cohosting so once I finish that I will be working on my year to go post cards and invitations.  I want to send my invitations out in May and since we are doing MIB and aging everything it will take me a while to get those done.

What about you all?

Planning? Urgh.  Always drama here. So my FI's daugter isn't coming to the wedding (she was actually my BM too). She is 16 and his cousin was supposed to escort her down and stay with her. Well this 'cousin' is MIA. She hasn't replied to texts, doesn't answer fone calls, etc. So yeah, she totally is ignoring him probably because she can't afford it...i dunno. He was even gonna help pay for the cousins travel. Its just rude. He is so sad because he really doesn't have anyone from his immediate family attending :(  We've wrecked our brain to find a way to get her there...there is no option. Now because she won't be there, we are gonna have a AHR which we didn't plan on. He really wants his daughter involved. Urgh..

SeeFlowers,

That is one of the most frusterating parts of the destination wedding. When people can't make it, who you really want there. We are in a similar boat, and it makes me feel insignificant to the family!

Keep smiling, it is all about you and your FI... no one else!

One of my students was doing a count down today to my wedding and he says "Are you having a great big party, or just a couple people?" so I tell him a small number and he replies with "you should just have it be you and your fiance"...

HAHAHA... out of the mouth of a 12 year old... he's right sometimes!

How is everyone?  Planning?  Any new cool ideas floating around?

I just mailed out my year to go postcards.  Today is the date but since next year is leap year tomorrow is exactly 365 days.  So excited I can't believe we are down to a year.  It seems like just yesterday we got engaged and picked a date that seemed like forever away.

2 of our friends will be getting married before us so I hope they will take advantage of our wedding as a honeymoon and since the Moon Palace offers honeymoon packages for all guests married less than 1 year which I think is awesome.

Countdown started yesterday for me!!!!  2 months to go!!!!  Can't come soon enough since it's SNOWING today!!!  Aaargh!!!!!  My bridesmaid and I finished our foot jewelry last night and they turned out so cute!  We were so proud of ourselves!!!  HAHA  Not too much left to do on my end, I have to still make my Welcome Book and Puzzle Book.  Still waiting for all the response cards w/menu choices.  Then I have my BD shoot and my shower and that's it!  I start my dress fittings this week!  So excited!!

I know this feeling Mishi - definitely feeling insignificant to the family. Hopefully our AHR will be well attended, since we don't have very many people going on the cruise with us.

Plus we just found out FI's brother might be deployed during the wedding and that would SUCK, not that it would be his fault at all. But it would be his fifth tour and noone wants him to go over there again. We'll find out for sure in the next few months. I'm praying he won't have to go at all, let alone be gone for the wedding.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
