OMG I have been harrassing my TA to try and get something in writing about this! From my standpoint, if you book something during a specific promotion, that promotion and all of its fine print should appy....even if the government is instituting this tax, maybe it is only for reservations made AFTER April 2012? Is there ANY way either of you would be willing to email me that sheet you have saying we wouldn't be charged the tax?! snimmagadda1@gmail.com I'd REALLY appreciate it!!!

Rpc51, I had three people try to contact Renee to get her to start helping me for over a month, then less than 2 months before the wedding she contacts me and tells me we have to hurry and plan everything, making it seem like it was MY fault she hadn't contacted me and that nothing was done. She was really nice on the phone and what not, but she often turns around and changes what she says, and then gets the wrong information from people and expects you to keep track of what she has been saying. I would recommend asking for someone else.

That is awful!  I'm sorry you are dealing with that.  Are you far away from hitting the unlimited?  Maybe if you are off by a little there is something you can do if you have it in writing from the coordinator that she wrote you did reach the goal.  I don't know.    I wouldn't give up on planning, this is your day!  I totally kept emailing my coordinator and copying every other coordinators email that I could get my hands on in order to get responses.  It's sad to say, but that did the trick.  I hate that you really can't escalate to a manager, since there is no way to find out who they are.

I am using Del Sol for my wedding photography and Pierre Violle for my underwater trash the dress.  Check them both out, they are amazing!!

How does the resort tax work? Do you pay cash for the tax at time of use for the credits? Or do they add the tax up on your bill at the end of the trip for the total of credit you use?

I'm going through something similar. I did not realize the wedding group amenities only apply if your guests all book with the same travel agent. So half my guests booked with the TA and the other half directly with the hotel. Basically I'm not getting any "wedding amenities" and have to pay for my reception. If my wedding was not a few weeks away I'd have told this resort I was canceling. It's very disappointing.

Each transaction will have the individual tax charge added to your room bill to pay at checkout.
