Thanks for that info!!! Where do you find all this out?  My Miami WC is Michelle and she doesn't really supply me with a lot of info...she is actually pretty vague. I am definitely going to look into sashes here then...I wasn't aware there wasn't ANY decor for the reception.  Will they supply flowers though?

I will be at the Moon Palace for 2 weeks (April 15-29). It would be so much fun to see you ladies there!!! If time permits, I would love to come and do that! Thanks for inviting me to be part of thatmsnparty.gif very sweet of you! Of course it depends on what is going on with my guests as well (its most of their last night there).

Hi Everyone!

After disappearing for almost two months, I'm baaacckkk! I started grad school in September, and I have had to step away from wedding planning for a while, with all the reading and studying I hardly have time to sleep! Thank goodness, I was off for the majority of this year and had time to do a ton of wedding projects before the start of the academic quarter. I've taken some time to catch up on the thread, Congrats to all of the newbies and great job on all of your projects! So far, I've:

  • bought my dress (Yay!)
  • finished and mailed DIY passport invites
  • fought with Palace on the conversion of the Cancun Palace to the Hard Rock..they have less than stellar customer service
  • taken engagement pics
  • completed welcome bags
  • ...and taken midterms

As soon as my schedule frees up a little more, I will share pics of everything.

Continued Happy Planning!

Hey Girls!

I am sooo sad!  Our house was broken into yesterday while we were at work!  :(  They took ALL of my jewelry and that includes ALL the jewelry I inherited from my mom when she died. crybaby2.gifLet's just say, it was worth a lot money wise and sentimentally!!!!  I was going to put it all in a safety deposit box shortly too!  I am soooo very sad!  They have everything, everything that I have gotten over the years from grandparents, etc....I thankfully have my the jewelry I was wearing (engagement ring, bulova watch and tiffany necklace)  But that's it for all my nice jewelry.  They also took our crappy laptop and all of our change.  They didn't take coach purses or gucci purse but all the change out of those purses?    Not sure how they found all my jewelry, but they did!   Lesson learned.  Anything worth that much, put in a safe or safety deposit box.  The kicker is....our homeowner insurance probably won't cover it either!!!!  I want to beat the MOFOs up that did this!!!!voodoo.gif  rant.gif

Oh my love, I am so so sorry to hear this news!  It saddens my heart to hear that someone was robbed and unfortuantely with the sign of the times and the state of the economy this will happen far to often.  I pray that you can at least recoup something financially.  Know that your mom and grandparents memories live beyond the jewels, which is something that even thieves can't take away.   May you and your FI be blessed.

That is awful! You never feel the same after a violation like that and heirlooms are so hard to loose, I'd check the pawn shops ASAP but now there are all those "buy gold" shops in the malls now. When we had some jewelry stolen they said the gold they buy they don't ask for ID dont track it and its gone by 5pm and melted down the same day. shady.

So sorry that sucks all around.

Thanks, Coco.  I'll definitely check out that saw kit today --- if they think I can get a clean cut with it.  Was thinking I could prob paint the bottoms to blend in afterwards.

Your flowers came out great!! And very natural. Good use of the burlap as that definitely tie on the natural look & feel that you were going for. There is a great saw kit at Michaels that I used for the base it was about $8 & the saw itself about the same. However it Woukd be hard to use on a finished project such as your bouquet. Maybe going forward this Would help.
Awe you are such a sweetie to have remembered & thought of us. We are so in love with our theme and all that it stands for. May your day be as beautiful as your Spirit!! Muah

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
