Have you picked where you want to get married?  We had a hard time choosing between Mexico and DR, but ultimately choose the Mayan Riviera.

We're looking at Mayan/Playa/Tulum area.   DR is def. out for us, the pricing for Feb are already super high, so we're just trying to find something that works.  It's a lot higher than I expected honestly, I had no idea we were going to be looking at $1700 a person!  That's been disheartneing, but at least we have a whole year's notice for everyone

Yes, I know what you mean. We are getting married in DR. Very expensive.... looking at about $2000 a person for us, and that is low season! But we figure, we are only doing this once...

We have been to the Mayan area before and loved it! In fact, if we weren't going to the DR, that is where I would have chosen.

We were at the Grand Sirenis. It was absolutely incredible. That whole area is just so lovely, great choice!
Happy planning!

Oooh yay! The Serenis is high on the list, actually fairly affordable in comparison to some of the others, which surprised me.  Good to know you liked it there!

Hello...

Congrats on picking a spot!

My FI and I were supposed to go to the Gran Bahia Principe in Jamaica next Monday, but he had unexpected emergency surgery so we are now not able to go.  It was for a vacation, not for our actual wedding.  Two of our friends are still going, and I hope they absolutely adore what the chain has to offer.  We are getting married at GBP in Mexico next year.  I know that the PR division of GBP in Jamaica has been amazing and prompt with us, the one correspondent has even wrote to me to tell me that my FI was in her thoughts and prayers.  So very sweet.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
