EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

I really wish I knew how the tables would be at El Cocotal for the dinner - there are some people who CANT sit next to eachother, so I want to do a seating chart, but the resort keeps saying they decide the day of. So I am making about 20 different "scenarios" for seating! hahahaha!

ALSO! This is ticking me off
if you dont PAY to do EDR's Sand Ceremony (always about money right) they wont do it for you. I WISH I KNEW THIS before buying all my sand ceremoney stuff. So now I need to write my own sand ceremoney and I dont know how it will be performed and or by whom!
ANNOYING!

Huhhuh.gifhuh.gif
What exactly do you meanhuh.gif
I want to incorporate the sand ceremony as well. EDR has gotten me to my last nerve, I tell you rant.gif

Well, the sand ceremony is now an option you can BUY and PAY for for them to do.

See here:

Category Wedding Officials - List of products - Welcome, Guest Weddings in Cancun & Riviera Maya

You pay $45 for it!!!!!!

I learnt this now, only 3 weeks before my wedding when I asked if they remembered that I am doing a sand ceremony and to add it to my sheet of choices:

We are bringing our sand ceremony stuff.

Do you have a script for this (as you do with the wedding ceremony), or do I have to write it?!

to which they informed me that I need to write my own sand ceremony:

In this case you have to write it since we only provide the sand ceremony script when we sell the ceremony.

and I wrote:

So whatever I write the wedding commissioner will just read out?

And this will follow the wedding ceremony or be included during it?

Thanks

Their reply was:

After the religious ceremony the Minister can stay for a few minutes and read her ceremony. This is going to be a brief speech she will make, after that you can read what you wrote.

So essentially - YOU WRITE IT

and YOU READ/PRESENT IT!

ughhh

i wish i knew this before I spend so much money on getting sand ceremony items like vases (engraved) and sand) ..........

There are several versions of the sand ceremony here on the forum. You can have someone in your family or wedding party do the ceremony for you. My daughter, Mandy, didn't do the sand one, but she did do the hand ceremony (which we also got here on the forum). She had her grandpa read it and it was really touching.

What about the ceremony?
Could all your guests hear the ceremony despite if it was windy or whatever?!

Thanks!
The sound was very good for the ceremony, and it was very windy when we were there. The minister had a hand mic that she used, then she would pass it to the bride and groom as they spoke their vows. As long as you hold it close to your mouth, you could hear everything really well. When Mandy's grandpa started to read the hand ceremony, he wasn't holding it very close, so I told him to "eat the mic" and everything was ok. Also, the recorded music was loud and clear as they have large speakers set up.

We're using our Free Dinner option as our "Dinner for after the Ceremony", which I'm still having major trouble deciding between "Fuentes" or "El Cocotal"smile35.gif. But we still want to try to Welcome Guests in a nice way. We want to have like a Welcome Gathering Somewhere within the resort, but I don't know where. We want to tell guests to meet us a XXX place, at XXX time for Margaritas or something. Are there any nice places where we can arrange for this. I already have the "Martini Bar" picked out for guests to go to right after the ceremony (suggested by Valeria), where we will have signature cocktails waiting for them. Is there anywhere else you guys can suggest for a Welcome Gathering??

Thanks!!!

First off, WELCOME BACK!!!!!

I see you recently got back from your wedding. I hope everything went just as planned for you. CONGRATULATIONS!!!! & I can't wait to read your review! I like the idea of an informal Meet & Greet, this sounds like us. BTW, does this 'beach bar" you mention, have a specific name or is it just the beach bar? I need to know so that I can put this info in our invites. What did you and your guests wear to go here? AND, why exactly was it your favorite hang outhuh.gif just curious to know.

thanks :)

thanks. I am almost done with writing my review. I am just working on the photos.

I think it is just called the beach bar. It is just an outdoor bar with a patio behind it. But there is a great breeze from the water and one of the only bars that you can hang out overlooking the water. There are plenty of tables and chairs. Anytime we were looking for a place to meet or hang, we were there. It was centrally located too. We met everyone there for drinks at 5:30 and then people scattered for dinner. It was the first day that most people arrived so it was good to introduce everyone. The next night we had a welcome dinner to gather everyone too.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
