Me too!  I keep having dreams that the wedding is only hours away and I have nothing planned in terms of hair, makeup, etc.  So, I start rushing around trying to find a salon and my dress.  It's awful!!

Yup I've had strange dreams of me finding out that tomorrow is my wedding day and I thought I had more time and I forgot my dress so I have to run all over the mall looking for one but they don't sell dresses then my photographers don't show up... all the regular stuff

However since I made a list to help me organize myself, the only dream I had was last night where I picked up my dress from the salon to take with us and they forgot to put it in a dark bag, they put it in a clear bag, so my FI saw it and I had to go buy a new one. Not so bad! NOt like the complete DISASTER ones I used to have!!

I haven't had one in quite a while. I had more during the stage that our STDs were sent out but we weren't quite in to full on planning stage. I think it was because I felt like I wasn't really in control at that point. Now I feel pretty ready - like I've tackled all of the details! Phew! On another note, wow I have had a drama filled week. One of my bridesmaids caused a lot of trouble. Literally one month - to the day - before the wedding, she told me that her dress doesn't work and that it won't be flattering, even with alterations. WOW! And you couldn't have told me this months ago when your dress arrived? Well there was nothing for me to do but find another dress that would work on both bridesmaids. I was already meeting one BM at the mall so that we could see what alterations needed to be done, so I invited drama causing BM to join so that we could all find a new dress. She declined. My angel BM tried on several dresses and we found one that we thought would work better. So I messaged photos and put it on hold under drama BM's name so she could go try it on. She said that she couldn't go during the period during which they could hold the dress. Is she not understanding that there is only ONE month left?? And that we're switching dresses because of her needs?? My angel BM saw that I was on the verge of tears and sent drama BM a text that she should just come try the dress on. WOW. Here's where the drama really kicks in. She sends me a nasty text. I called her when I got home and just asked her WHAT'S UP?? WHY are you acting likegirl_werewolf.gif? That's when she exploded and started yelling and crying, mostly about my angel BM, how she feels left out (she was invited!), and the room arrangement that she made for herself. Not really anything about why she is treating me like this. I listened a lot, stayed calm and asked a few questions. After a few minutes of this, she hung up on me... The following day there was a lot of tension between us. I sent her a two page email reassuring her about why I asked her to be part of our wedding, why I want a destination wedding, why I didn't cry or get upset when she said a long time ago that she might not be able to go, why I can't be put in between whatever the problem is with the other BM... I finished by asking her if she would be my BM (again), if she could try to be happy and if she would go try on the damned dress. She responded back with one sentence... "I already tried the dress on." Great.... "How did the dress work? Any thoughts on the rest of what I said?" No response. At this point I'm thinking... OK.... So.... Do I have a BM or not? Oh my gosh I was just sick to my stomach and not understanding what I had done wrong and why she was treating me this way. After a whole nother day and a series of explosions on her part, she finally called me "to clear the air." Stating that she doesn't understand how everything got blown so out of proportion (HELLO!)  and of course she was always planning on going and that she tried the dress and it worked. I really cannot believe that someone who has been such a good friend to me for over a decade would treat me like this so close to my wedding, but it happened and I forgave her- even though she didn't apologize. I mean I know emotions fly high, and I can kind of see why she's freaking out because most of the people around her are getting married and she's single - but her actions were very harsh and misdirected. So I guess I kinda had a real life nightmare in place of one in my dreams.... ouch_125.gif

I'm just hoping and praying that Ms.Drama can keep it under wraps at least until she flies out of Cancun. Has anyone else had to deal with an unruly member of your wedding party?

Oh Amanda :o(  I'm so sorry you have to deal with that.  I do have a bridesmaid that is quite 'outspoken' sometimes, but no where near what you have to deal with :o(.  I do however have a guest coming, who first and foremost invited HERSELF to my "family and bridal party-only wedding", that is causing all sorts of drama with mine and my FI's wedding party.  She's a drama-mama to begin with, but I'm so annoyed that I ever let her guilt me into letting her book in the first place.

Ooooh well...  I guess I would say my advice for you would be to try not to even pay it mind.  I know that is way easier said than done, but I have gotten to the point where I just don't bother with what anyone else is saying, thinking or doing.  The small things that are going on with my group right now are going to have no impact on how my wedding will go and how happy we are going to be on our wedding day, so I'm just not going to sweat it.  Hopefully the drama with her has passed, but if not, I would just try not to even pay it any mind.  If she hangs up on you or doesn't want to talk, so be it.  If she doesn't have a dress, I guess she can't be in your bridal party. lol  I know that seems harsh, but I guess I'm at that harsh point with all of my drama as well and feel like that is the best way to make sure you continue to worry about nothing but your happiness and your day!

On a brighter note, I had my shower this weekend!!!  My girls and mom did an awesome job and I had a great time :o).  It officially made our wedding feel even closer!!  We have 5 1/2 weeks until we leave for Mexico!!  My FI's bach party is in 3 weeks and mine is in 4, so once that excitment is over, we will really be in crunch time!  I just need to finish my programs and welcome books.  I also believe I'm going to buy one more thing for our moms and am trying to decide what to do for placecards for our dinner.  Ooo and my 2nd dress fitting is a week from tomorrow!!!

We are almost there girls!! I hope everyone is enjoying their planning and prepping..

Amanda you poor thing. It is so unnecessary for people to at in such a way especially over your wedding. How would she feel if the boot was on other foot?? Its so not fair. I hope it all works out ok and i think you have been more than accommodating i think i would have told her it was tough seeing as she was making it difficult to go and try on the other dresses. What does she expect you to do??

I have had major dramas with my MIL over our wedding. She came round last January and had a right go at me screaming and shouting at me infront of my 2yr old daughter and then walked out and hasn't looked back since. We have hardly spoken since!! Mexico for 2 wk's with her should be fun!

Weddings really do bring out the monsters in people. I feel for you... x

I collect my dress on saturday!!! We leave in 8 days!!! OMG!!

Wow, I am so glad I opted not have a wedding party.  Just my sister as my MOH and she has been very easy going.  But, it seems like there is always some drama going on with someone.  My FI's kids are putting a bet on who gets into a fight first at the wedding.  As long as its not me.

Over all things are steadily getting done and the 'to-do" list is getting shorter and shorter.  I still need clothes for the other evenings, put together the welcome bags, figure out what the heck I'm doing with my hair and oh yeah, right some vows.  Looks like I'm going to have some extra OOT bag stuff too so I have to think about what to do with it.

Wow, can't believe how close it is!!!

I'm getting married June 25!!!!!  I'm an Aventura Palace bride :o)  I see that you are getting married at Moon!

Here is the link to my OOT bags if you want to check them out! -- http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/thread/72302/jess-s-oot-bags-done-w-pics

Awesome to hear that your invites turned out great!  No real packing list going here yet...but I did pack up most of my OOT bag stuff and decorations (with the exception of liquids that need to be checked) -- two carry-on's full!  I'm planning on packing really nothing but sun dresses for the whole trip..I figure they take up less space and are much eaiser to throw on and hang out in.  I have a few nicer dresses for dinners/nights out and a few 'althetic' type outfits in case we end up going to Xplor and/or Xcaret.  Of course, I'll have like 4-5 swimsuits too lol.  I plan on going out in the next few weeks to stock up on all sorts of meds and random things to bring just in case (pepto, imodium, etc.).

    • Good afternoon, I wanted to inquire if anyone has or knows someone who got married at this resort. How was it? How are the coordinators? Packages that were chosen. Any help would be greatly appreciated.   Thanks.
    • Hi all! I know this is an old thread... but just in case there are other destination wedding brides out there with the same question, I thought I would answer! My guy and I live in Texas and just got our marriage license (yay!). We are getting married in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. The Dallas County clerk informed us that we can get our marriage license in Texas, bring it and a Texas-registered officiant to Mexico, have the ceremony in Mexico, then bring the marriage license back to Texas to file and it will be LEGAL in the US.  In  other words, we can legally get married in Mexico using our Texas marriage license and officiant (who is a family friend), then file the paperwork when we get home. Where it says 'county in which ceremony was performed' on the license, we just put in Playa del Carmen, Mexico and bam! Married :) I do not know if this is true for other states, but it is CONFIRMED for Texas! I suggest asking the clerk when you register for your marriage license. I am overjoyed that we can have a US-legal marriage in Mexico so our wedding date on our license will be the actual day! NO blood tests, or getting married before or after the trip required!
    • Every Bride spends a lot of time researching and worrying about her perfect wedding dress. While many Indian brides choose the traditional red colour for their bridal gown, a few of them find some different colours to wear on their special day. Here is a description of how to choose an Indian wedding dress that suits your skin tone. 1) Fair complexion: You can choose any shade of blue or bright shades of pink and red. In the shades of blue- select scuba blue or royal blue. Among other colours this season, you can pick up your dress in tangerine.   2) Wheatish complexion Just select those colours which bring out the warmth in your complexion. Some of the best options for you are tangy orange, saffron yellow, vibrant shades of red, mint green and hot pink.   3) Dusky complexion: If you have an olive skin tone, then you can pull off any rich and dark colour quite well. So, the colours like classic blue, marsala, burnt orange and brick red are just perfect for you. Also the metallic silver, gold and bronze will even flatter your face pretty well
    • I will be using the hPage Website Builder to create a free website for our wedding. I am planning to post wedding updates, wedding photos, wedding reminders, and wedding articles regarding our upcoming marriage there. For RSVP, I am using Facebook events since almost all we invited have facebook and it would be easier to get their "yes" or "no" confirmation there. In case anyone is interested as well here's their site: hPage Website Builder - https://www.hpage.com
