Could anyone provide more details about the actual ceremony and reception and what is included in  the Divine package?

I am trying to limit my budget and am not a girl who cares a ton about flowers and centerpieces, etc. I think the beach and location provide a great decor but I also don't want it to look empty.

What about a DJ?  I imagine having about 20-30 people, but not really a dancing crowd.  How much does a DJ cost?  Are they set up in the same area as dinner?

Thanks.

I had my reception in the Bamboo room and the room itself is quite nice! I didn't bring anything decorations...but I did pay for that starfish and sand center piece..which was quite expensive. But Ana did had some clear/shiny beads onto the table which were nice..and of course there were candles. I thought it was still beautiful.

I have no other family members flying out from my city so I would have to bring this all down myself and its going to be alot.  I have heard some people say that they brought nothing and they did a great job at making the room look nice but when I asked Ana she said they don't decorate?  Any suggestions??

Hi,

I am probably going to have around the same number of people as you...25-30. The DJ is $1000 for 4 hrs but I was told the reception was only 3 hrs so I am going to ask how that works??  The DJ is set up in the same area as the reception. I am leaning towards getting one even though it costs a lot but I don't want the reception to fall flat if its a small group and there is no good music to dance.

As far as decor goes its sounds like they don't provide much other than white linens and 1 centre piece. Anything else you pay extra. I am in the process of deciding what to bring b/c I really don't want to buy much and have to carry it all down there....the less the better for me.

Hi,I live in Alberta too,and we are getting married at the Now Jade ,we had a justice of the peace come to our house, she did the marriage license so it is all done before we go,but the wedding will be there.so much easier then my friend who had to have all papers and transfer them into spanish, then english at a cost both times,as well as blood work there, and you have to be careful when you book your flights that you are there with the minimun 48 hours prior.....Just to  much for us.It cost us $150,and for us it is just a formallity to make our destination wedding so much easier and the ceremony will still be the same as far as any of our guests know,we didn't even tell family so it is the same for them.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
